Inside the small medical tent, both Kadoya and Minato sat on a medical bed, their left and right hands wrapped in bandages, respectively.
Tsunade raised an eyebrow as she listened to how these two brats got themselves injured. The more she heard, the more her desire to take Kadoya as a disciple grew. He was the Uchiha brat her grandmother had been mentoring, yet his abilities—his style—felt more Senju than Uchiha. She wanted to see for herself.
"You two are something else. Only six years old, and you've already created two A-Rank jutsu." Tsunade smirked in amusement.
Kadoya shot her a skeptical look. This woman…
He already knew what she was after. She's going to butter us up, pretend to be all nice and reliable, and then—bam—next thing you know, she's after our money to fuel her gambling addiction.
The future wasn't hard to predict. When she eventually left the village, she'd become a walking jackpot for casinos everywhere, a "Big Fat Sheep" gambler who always lost but kept coming back for more.
Kadoya wasn't falling for it.
If anything, he suspected she was already cracking open her family's safe or dipping into her teammates' mission rewards to fund her bad habits. It takes one to know one, after all. He was a gacha addict, and she was a gambling addict. If he had to crack open the family vault or take his teammate's reward to fund his rolls, he absolutely would.
They were the same kind of people.
And that's exactly why he wasn't going to let her anywhere near his money.
One slip-up, one act of kindness, and it'd be over. She'd keep coming back for more.
Don't believe me?
Just look at Minato. The moment Kadoya realized he could farm points off him, he turned the poor guy into his personal punching bag.
Minato, as always, just chuckled awkwardly, scratching the back of his head. "Actually, both the Rasengan and Chidori were created by Kadoya."
Ever the honest one, Minato made sure to give credit where it was due.
"Oh? Interesting." Tsunade murmured, her gaze flicking back to Kadoya, amusement dancing in her eyes. Then she turned back to Minato.
"You can leave. I want a private chat with this Uchiha brat."
Minato nodded and left without a fuss. Kadoya, however, tried to follow—only to feel Tsunade grab his wrist.
"Kid, are you really an Uchiha?" Tsunade asked, her eyes filled with something unfamiliar.
Hope.
Kadoya blinked. Huh?
With the decline of the Senju Clan, only two members remained—Tsunade and her younger brother, Nawaki. Despite Kadoya being an Uchiha, rumors had already started to circulate that he was secretly a Senju. Tsunade wanted to confirm it for herself.
"Really?" Kadoya deadpanned.
She had the nerve to ask that? He had the Sharingan—though it was hidden behind his black contact lenses—but even so, this was ridiculous.
Should he take them off and show her?
Nah.
He had nothing to prove to her. Given his current lineup of Water Release, Flower Release, and a massive chakra reserve, even he was starting to wonder if he'd end up becoming Kadoya Senju sooner or later.
So instead, he simply asked, "What's my name?"
Tsunade blinked.
That was a dumb question.
Even she had to admit it.
She had just asked an Uchiha if he was secretly a Senju.
"I have needles and thread. How about I sew up your torn clothes for you?"
After a brief silence, Tsunade made the suggestion.
Kadoya glanced down at his tattered kimono, the sleeves ripped from his earlier match with Minato. He frowned slightly, unsure how Tsunade planned to sew it up.
"Tsunade-sama… why do you even carry those things around?" he asked, raising an eyebrow.
Tsunade smirked. "Missions sometimes last for months. If you're stationed somewhere remote, clothes tear, and battles happen—knowing how to patch things up is essential. My sewing skills are top-notch, you know."
Then, with a mysterious glint in her eyes, she added, "I don't tell this to just anyone. How about it, brat? Touched?"
Kadoya rolled his eyes. "No offense, Tsunade-sama, but after today, I'm getting a new outfit."
Tsunade wasn't offended in the slightest. Instead, she reached into her bag, pulled out a blue haori, and tossed it at him.
"Put this on. It's better than walking around looking like a beggar."
"Thanks, Tsunade-sama." Kadoya said, slipping the haori over his shoulders. Despite the ten-year age gap, he was already pretty tall for his age—reaching up to her chest—so when he put it on, it looked less like a haori and more like a kimono.
Just then, a boy burst into the tent, his voice filled with urgency.
"Sister! I'm injured too!"
Kadoya turned to see a young boy with dark blond hair and brown eyes glaring at him.
Nawaki Senju.
Kadoya quickly put the pieces together—he had been lurking nearby, watching. And now? He was not happy.
Something Kadoya was confused.
They had only just met, and Tsunade was already handing Kadoya her old clothes?
What the hell?! Nawaki had never been treated this nicely by his sister. And if this was happening now… what about the future?
His eyes darted to Kadoya, narrowing into a glare. This Uchiha is stealing my sister's attention…
Tsunade turned to her younger brother, giving him a once-over. His clothes were spotless, his chakra steady—no signs of injury whatsoever.
"Oh?" Tsunade's voice held a hint of amusement. "Where exactly are you injured?"
Nawaki froze. He hadn't thought that far ahead.
"U-Um… Um…" His mind raced for an excuse.
Kadoya watched the boy fumble, clearly making things up on the spot. Nawaki always talked big about becoming Hokage, but he wasn't the reckless type. If an opponent was clearly stronger, he'd back off immediately. There was no way he'd actually be injured.
"I… I have a cold!" Nawaki blurted out. "I just came to ask my sister for cold medicine!"
He shoved Kadoya aside and stood proudly next to Tsunade.
Even he didn't believe the nonsense coming out of his mouth.
Tsunade arched an eyebrow. A cold, huh? From an angle Nawaki couldn't see, her expression darkened slightly.
Kadoya, noticing this, wisely kept his mouth shut.
Tsunade had just finished a mission, and all she wanted to do was gamble. The only reason she was here at the Ninja Academy was because the Third Hokage had begged her, promising she only had to treat injured students—teaching was left to Jiraiya and Orochimaru.
Then she remembered the Uchiha brat her grandmother had been very interested in lately, so if she had to pick a disciple, she would pick him, Kadoya Uchiha.
But now, these little brats were swarming her.
Her patience was running thin.
"I have cold medicine here," she said suddenly, her expression shifting into a bright, almost too-sweet smile.
Nawaki perked up. Wait… why does this feel wrong?
"Look, with this recent cold wave, you might get sick if you're not careful."
Kadoya blinked. Cold wave? In May?
His expression remained neutral, watching how this would all play out.
"Y-Yeah, yeah! Exactly, Sister!" Nawaki nodded eagerly, still oblivious to the danger.
His glare flickered back to Kadoya. Stay away from my sister, you Uchiha bastard!
Meanwhile, Tsunade made a series of hand seals. With a poof, two sticky, wriggling blue things appeared on the table.
Slugs.
Still arching and oozing liquid.
Nawaki's face drained of color.
He knew what this meant.
Jiraiya had already suffered at the hands of these creatures—Nawaki knew their true purpose. This wasn't medicine. This was punishment.
"Nawaki, I have a secret recipe here that cures all diseases."
Tsunade flicked her golden hair, her fair face smiling sweetly.
Nawaki started trembling.
"My foolish brother."
So the only way to deal with it at this time was to run away quickly.
Otherwise, what Tsunade trampled on would be more than just dignity.
Especially in front of this Uchiha boy who seems to be trying to take his place. He didn't want to be the object of ridicule.
"…Is, is that so? Sister, I think my cold is already better, so I won't… I won't bother you, you can treat others!" Nawaki stammered, then ran away immediately.
"Wait, who allowed you to leave? I haven't finished speaking yet. What's the rush?" Tsunade grabbed the corner of Nawaki's clothes, not letting him leave. Nawaki was like a chick caught in Tsunade's hand.
If Nawaki observed more carefully, he would have seen that although his sister Tsunade's smile looked bright, her face was filled with an unsettling shadow of terror.
A smirk appeared on Kadoya's lips.
Kadoya observed the scene with mild amusement.
Tsunade was dangerous when she got like this.
He could stop this, but… why would he?
This was free Evil Points.
"Yes, yes," Kadoya chimed in, his expression completely serious. "I just saw him coughing earlier. The cold currents in May are very dangerous. Lady Tsunade, please, show no mercy. We must prevent a full-scale influenza epidemic in Konoha."
Nawaki snapped his head toward him, eyes wide in betrayal.
"That's right." Tsunade nodded, her bright smile making Nawaki feel cold all over.
"My foolish brother, look, your classmate thinks so too. Look at your illness, it really needs to be treated."
"Kadoya isn't even my classmate! You evil Uchiha! Just wait!" Nawaki, who couldn't run away because Tsunade grabbed the back of his collar, turned his head with a look of grief and indignation, staring at the bastard who was kicking him when he was down.
"Alright, enough nonsense. Your illness needs treatment."
With a slap, Tsunade pinned Nawaki onto the table.
"Nawaki, you know what my summoning beast is. These slugs have excellent medical properties…"
She picked one up.
"Ninja Art: Slug Insertion Jutsu."
Before Nawaki could even scream, a slug was forcibly stuffed into his mouth.
A sour, slimy taste spread through his nose, his expression twisting into sheer horror.
Ding! +204 Evil Points
Kadoya smirked.
Totally worth it.
"What's with that expression? This is a special remedy that I worked hard to develop, especially for treating pretentious and naughty children, little brother."
"Sister, weren't you saying you were treating a cold?" Nawaki said.
"Oh, just treating a cold as a side effect."
Konoha's Princess Tsunade brushed her golden hair and revealed a smile that made Nawaki tremble.
Nawaki trembled, wanting to escape from here.
Ignoring Nawaki's half-death stage as he began crawling out, Kadoya narrowed his gaze back to Tsunade.
At this time, Tsunade was only 16 years old, with golden hair and wearing a Jonin vest. The Yin Seal on her forehead was not yet complete, and she had a naive appearance.
She was tall and her legs were very slender, but compared to the later generation who always used the Yin Seal to maintain the age of twenty, why didn't Tsunade have any femininity at this time? What part went wrong?
Shrugging, Kadoya decides not to put too much thought into this, instead, his gaze falls on her Yin Seal, and a smirk appears on his lips.
"Tsunade-sama, can you tell me about that thing on your forehead?" Kadoya asked, his gaze lingering on the diamond-shaped mark.
Tsunade arched a brow, smirking. "Oh? Interested in my Yin Seal, Uchiha brat?"
She leaned in slightly, a glint of mischief in her brown eyes. "I could teach you… if you became my student. Of course, there's a tuition fee—five thousand ryo."
A smirk tugged at Kadoya's lips. Hook, line, and sinker.
"Tsunade-sama, how about we discuss this over a game? Something you like. And if you're interested… we could make it a bet too." His grin, deceptively sweet, mirrored the same one Tsunade had just moments ago.
At the word "bet," Tsunade's eyes lit up with excitement. From seemingly nowhere, she pulled out a deck of cards and slammed it onto the table.
"I like your attitude, kid. Let's play poker. Starting bet… let's keep it simple. One thousand ryo per game."
Kadoya met her gaze, confidence brimming. "You're on."
What followed could only be described as daylight robbery.
Game after game, Kadoya systematically drained Tsunade's wallet, a smirk never leaving his face. Before long, he had not only won all her money but also secured the method to recreate her Yin Seal.
He gathered the winnings and, without hesitation, pushed them back toward her.
"Tsunade-sama. Here."
Tsunade's eye twitched. "Oi, Uchiha brat, are you mocking me!?" Her voice carried a clear edge of irritation.
Kadoya remained unfazed. "Nonsense, Tsunade-sensei. I'm just paying my tuition fee to be your student."
There was a beat of silence.
Then, Tsunade burst out laughing.
"That's right, that's right! You really are a good student, Kadoya." She grinned, happily scooping back all the money she had just lost.
