Seeing Onoki kneeling in defeat, begging him to stop, the three Kadoyas smirked in unison as the towering Susanoo slowly faded into nothingness. The water level began to recede, revealing the grim truth hidden beneath the surface: countless bodies floating lifelessly, the remnants of a once-proud force.
The surviving Iwa shinobi stood in silence, eyes wide, faces pale. Not a single word was spoken. They simply stared, hopeless and broken, surrounded by the corpses of their comrades.
But no one dared move nor even breathe.
Not while Kadoya Uchiha was still standing there.
"Good," Kadoya finally said, his voice calm yet sharp like a blade. "I'll be expecting your surrender letter. I will await your compensation."
He didn't wait for a reply.
With a single turn, he began walking away, like nothing that had just happened mattered. His back faced them, yet none had the courage to attack him.
Even as his silhouette vanished into the mist, Onoki remained kneeling, head bowed low.
It had been just over twenty years since he last bowed before a demon of the battlefield.
Now, another had arrived.
Another Shura of the Shinobi World had been born.
Congratulations! Title Unlocked: [Shura]
Reward: Innate Domain: At the Furthest Ends
"Oh?" Kadoya raised an eyebrow, a faint smirk tugging at the corner of his lips as the notification appeared before him. "Now this is interesting."
In the world of shinobi, the title Shura carried heavy weight. Uchiha Madara had been hailed as the Shura of the Ninja World. A fitting title for a man who brought death with every step.
The term Shura or Ashura came from Japanese Buddhism, referring to a demigod of war: an existence trapped in endless conflict, driven by wrath and pride. It symbolized those who lived solely to fight, inhuman, relentless, and feared.
And yet, in a strange twist of irony, Madara had been the reincarnation of Indra Otsutsuki, brother to Ashura Otsutsuki. The very Ashura who once believed peace could be achieved through mutual understanding and compassion.
Funny, isn't it?
To be called the god of war, yet be born from a soul who believed in peace.
But that's just the thing.
Peace... isn't something you get by bowing your head.
The human heart doesn't work that way.
It's too complicated.
You can't make others understand you just by showing kindness. When you bow too low, they don't see humility; they see weakness. They stop listening, stop respecting, and eventually, they take.
Hashirama Senju, the First Hokage, was a living example.
While alive, his strength was revered. Villages dared not move against Konoha because of him.
But the moment he was gone?
They didn't hesitate to bare their fangs.
True peace doesn't come from surrendering.
It comes from making them remember why they should never cross you.
Kadoya made his way back toward the Konoha camp. Standing quietly under the shade of a distant tree, his icy gaze narrowed as he spotted purple smoke rising from the heart of their base.
"So… he's here," he muttered.
In the original work, Hanzo had crushed the Konoha camp in Amegakure. He defeated Jiraiya, Tsunade, and Orochimaru, three of Konoha's strongest, then let them live, mockingly branding them Sannin. A name that was meant to humiliate, but over time, turned legendary.
Kadoya had expected something like this.
That's why he ordered the Genin to stay back and guard the camp. Not to fight Hanzo, obviously, they were no match for a monster like him. Their job was simple: signal the moment he appeared, and retreat. For that reason, a few Jonin and Chunin had been assigned to support them, keeping the younger ones alive long enough to send the warning flare.
Closing his eyes for a brief moment, Kadoya let instinct take over. He vanished in a blur, heading straight for Minato's hiding location.
"Kadoya," Minato greeted, a breath of relief in his voice upon seeing his brother alive.
Kadoya didn't answer. His eyes scanned the concealed hideout, a temporary shelter where Minato and the surviving Genin and injured had taken cover during Hanzo's ambush.
"Report," Kadoya said curtly, voice sharp and commanding.
Minato nodded. Kadoya was a Jonin now. This wasn't brother-to-brother, it was superior-to-subordinate.
"Hanzo hit us hard," Minato said. "So far, twelve Jonin, twenty-nine Chunin, and thirty-seven Genin… confirmed dead. Sixty-four are injured."
Kadoya's expression shifted slightly. "…Tch."
Over eighty dead. That wasn't just an ambush; it was a slaughter.
"What about our friends?"
Minato understood who he meant.
"They're alive. Saiguu was hurt… her left side took the brunt of an explosion. She shielded Nawaki."
Kadoya: "..."
"Why didn't Nawaki use his Earth Armor?"
Minato glanced away, guilt evident in his tone.
"He had just stepped on an explosive tag, he was still recovering when another kunai came flying with a second tag. Saiguu reacted faster… saved him."
He clenched his fist. "If only I'd been quicker… maybe I could've-"
His voice faded.
Minato had memorized every name in their squad. He knew each face. And now, he had to live knowing that many of them would never open their eyes again. That weight pressed on him harder than any wound.
Quietly, he pulled out a kunai with strange black markings.
The Flying Raijin Kunai.
A reward from the Third Hokage for rescuing Kushina from the Kumo incident. An S-rank technique, nearly impossible to learn. But Minato had barely managed it.
Kadoya's eyes landed on the kunai, then on Minato.
So… he'd learned it. And yet, he still couldn't save everyone. That must be tearing him apart.
Kadoya stepped forward and placed a firm hand on Minato's shoulder.
"If you want to blame yourself, go ahead," he said quietly. "But don't stop there. Blame your weakness. Blame their weakness. Then use it, get stronger. So that next time, you can protect the ones you care about."
He gave his brother a look, stern but not unkind, then turned away, walking into the wreckage of the camp. His figure faded into the rain.
Kadoya knew about the future; if Minato wasn't strong enough, Kushina and he would die, and their child with live in poverty, being treated as both an orphan and a monster.
With Minato's current strength, much stronger than his cannon self by age, he will probably survive the Nine-Tails' attack. But that didn't mean he could save his wife.
Kadoya just hoped that his brother would be strong enough to protect those he loved.
Minato stared at his back, motionless.
Rainwater mixed with tears as they rolled down his cheeks. His bright blue eyes shifted, deepening into crimson.
His two tomoe began to spin, and a third tomoe spun into place.
He wiped his eyes.
When he opened them again, they were blue once more.
Standing in the sky above, Kadoya looks down to see Hanzo fighting Orochimaru, Tsunade, and Jiraiya.
"Where is that Blonde boy of the Body Flicker? I must admit, his speed is terrifying. If only he had focused on trying to kill me instead of rescuing his comrade. He might actually have a chance." Hanzo said, recalling how there was a blonde boy who managed to surpass him with the Body Flicker.
Tsunade and Orochimaru both looked confused as there were more than a few blonde genin in Konoha, while Jiraiya immediately thought of Minato, but he didn't say anything, not wanting to place a target on his student's back.
"It seems you don't know either. Another new powerhouse? You great nations are so lucky, there's always another genius emerging. How could you understand the struggles of us smaller nations?" Hanzo narrowed his eyes and sighed.
"Hmph, struggles? If you were struggling, there wouldn't be this war. I witnessed the gold mine affair with my own eyes," Orochimaru retorted in his usual hoarse voice.
"Young man, how can you be so sure that what you saw is the absolute truth? We could all be mere pawns in someone else's game," Hanzo replied, shaking his head.
"Pawns? Who has the power to manipulate the entire ninja world like that? Don't tell me you think Madara Uchiha is still alive," Tsunade mocked.
"Too arrogant. Konoha taught you confidence but failed to teach you humility," Hanzo said, gripping his sickle.
In an instant, Orochimaru and the others' alertness shot to its peak.
Jiraiya quickly formed hand seals.
"Fire Style: Flame Bullet!"
A violent sphere of flame shot forward, barreling toward Hanzo.
But with a single swing of his sickle, chakra surged around him, and he sliced through the great flame bullet with ease. The flames scattered harmlessly to the sides, leaving Hanzo completely unscathed.
Hanzo suddenly vanished from their sight.
The three Konoha ninjas were stunned.
"So fast!"
Though none of them specialized in speed, their abilities were formidable. Yet, compared to the man before them, they were still a step behind.
"Behind you!"
Orochimaru's sharp instincts kicked in.
Tsunade didn't hesitate; she whirled around and threw a monstrous-strength punch behind her.
Her fist met Hanzo's sickle with a resounding clang.
Hanzo felt an immense force travel up his weapon, forcing him back several steps until his foot crushed a large rock beneath him.
"Your strength is impressive, but your speed is lacking," Hanzo remarked.
"Shuriken Shadow Clone Jutsu!"
Orochimaru flung a shuriken, which instantly multiplied, creating a storm of deadly steel hurtling toward Hanzo.
Hanzo narrowed his eyes. Just as he prepared to dodge with the Body Flicker Jutsu, he noticed that the boulder beneath his feet had turned into a swamp, pulling him down.
"Earth Style: Swamp of the Underworld!" Jiraiya shouted.
"Good coordination. Unfortunately, it's not enough to injure me."
With a precise slash of his sickle, Hanzo deflected the incoming shuriken.
At that moment, Tsunade appeared behind him, her monstrous-strength punch fully charged.
Boom!
A deafening impact followed as a colossal black behemoth emerged from the ground, Hanzo's Summoning Beast, Salamander!
The swamp beneath Hanzo was shattered in an instant, freeing him. At the same time, the force of Salamander's sudden rise knocked Tsunade backward.
"Wild Lion's Mane Jutsu!"
Jiraiya's hair rapidly extended, attempting to catch Tsunade midair.
"Water Style: Giant Waterfall!"
Hanzo's hands moved at incredible speed, forming seals. A towering wall of water erupted and surged toward the airborne Tsunade.
"Earth Style: Multi Mud Wall!" Orochimaru countered, raising barriers of stone.
With a crash, the waterfall collided with the earthen walls. After a few moments, the Earth Release crumbled, dissolving into mud. Soon, it seemed as though it was raining sludge.
As the battlefield cleared, Hanzo stood tall in the rain, his sickle once again resting on his back.
"Be careful, his summon is gone again!" Tsunade warned.
The Salamander had vanished beneath the battlefield once more. Just moments ago, it had ambushed her from below; who knew when it might strike again?
Suddenly, the ground trembled. The three Konoha ninjas immediately leaped into the air. A massive shadow surged up from below.
Salamander's mouth gaped open, emitting thick purple smoke, its dark-yellow tongue lashing through the air like a whip.
"Hidden Shadow Snake Hand!"
Orochimaru's right hand extended over ten meters, transforming into a dark green snake that latched onto a stone, anchoring him. At the same time, he used his left hand to conjure multiple smaller snakes, which wrapped around Tsunade and Jiraiya, pulling them to safety.
Seeing this, the Salamander swung its massive tail toward them. Even before it reached them, the sheer force of its movement sent airwaves crashing forward.
Faced with such an overwhelming assault, the three knew that brute force defense was impossible.
Jiraiya's hands flew through seals.
"Earth Style: Earth Dragon Bullet!"
A massive dragon-shaped projectile shot through the air, colliding with Salamander's tail.
But despite its immense size, the Salamander was unexpectedly agile. It adjusted the arc of its swing, meeting the attack head-on.
With a loud crash, the Earth Dragon shattered into debris.
Orochimaru immediately formed a new set of seals.
"Wind Style: Great Wind Blades!"
Hundreds of wind blades shot toward the Salamander.
But before they could reach it, Hanzo stepped forward and swung his sickle, infused with wind chakra. In an instant, the wind blades collapsed and vanished without a trace.
Roar!
The Salamander let out a deafening bellow, shaking the battlefield. Even Orochimaru and the others felt their eardrums ache.
Is this the strength of a demigod?
Meanwhile, in the sky above, on an invisible air platform, Kadoya sat cross-legged and chewed sunflower seeds beside Naori, watching the battle below. This battle has never truly been shown in the original work, so he got curious and wanted to see it with his own eyes.
