Chapter 26: A Joyful Reunion

Maya stood in the hospital room, her eyes fixed on Alex's face. She had been visiting him every day, hoping that he would regain his memory and remember their time together. And now, as she looked at him, she saw something in his eyes that gave her hope.

"Alex, I need to talk to you," Maya said, her voice trembling with emotion.

Alex turned to her, a confused expression on his face. But as he looked at her, something seemed to click. His eyes narrowed, and he frowned.

"Maya?" he said, his voice uncertain. "Is that you?"

Maya's heart skipped a beat as she realized that Alex was starting to remember her. "Yes, Alex," she said. "It's me."

Alex's eyes locked onto hers, and he took a step forward. "I remember," he said. "I remember everything. Our walks in the park, our late-night conversations, our laughter together."

Maya's eyes welled up with tears as she realized that Alex had finally remembered their time together. She felt a surge of joy and relief, knowing that their love was still alive.

Just then, Rachel walked into the room, a smug expression on her face. "Well, well, well," she said. "Look who's finally remembered his precious Maya."

Alex's eyes narrowed, and he turned to Rachel. "You," he said, his voice cold. "You're the one who's been manipulating me, telling me lies about Maya."

Rachel's expression faltered, and she took a step back. "I-I was just trying to protect you, Alex," she stammered.

Alex's eyes flashed with anger. "Protect me?" he repeated. "You were using me, Rachel. You were using me to get back at Maya."

Rachel's face turned red with rage, but Alex just laughed. "You're not even worth my time, Rachel," he said. "Get out of here, and don't come back."

Rachel's eyes welled up with tears as she realized that she had lost Alex for good. She turned and ran out of the room, leaving Alex and Maya alone.

As they hugged each other tightly, Maya knew that she had found her soulmate. And she knew that their love was stronger than ever.

Years went by, and Alex and Maya got married. They had two beautiful children, and they lived happily ever after.

As they sat on their porch, holding hands, and watching the sunset, Alex turned to Maya and said, "You know, I'm really glad I remembered you."

Maya smiled and leaned her head on his shoulder. "Me too, my love," she said. "Me too."

And as they sat there, basking in the warmth of their love, Alex turned to Maya and said, "You know what?"

"What?" Maya asked, looking up at him with a smile.

Alex grinned mischievously. "You're not just my wife," he said. "You're my side chick wife."

Maya laughed and playfully rolled her eyes. "Oh, Alex," she said. "You're such a goofball."

And as they sat there, laughing and loving each other, Maya knew that she had found her forever home, with the man she loved, and who loved her just the same.

Rachel, on the other hand, was left alone, regretting her actions and the love she had lost. She realized too late that she had been blind to Alex's true feelings, and that she had pushed him away with her manipulation and lies.

As she sat in her empty apartment, surrounded by the memories of what could have been, Rachel couldn't help but think of Alex and Maya, and the love they shared. She knew that she would never find a love like that, and that she would always regret her actions.
