CHAPTER 2

c2 - Gene Mutation

That afternoon, Yoshino-sensei organized an internal combat class for Class C.

Every student took turns stepping onto the stage, showcasing their skills in front of their peers.

Shua!

A dark-haired girl executed a precise kick, sending Morino Ibiki stumbling backward. Her movements were decisive and fluid, the mark of a trained kunoichi.

"Well done! The student who reassures me the most in this class is none other than Uchiha Kazue."

Yoshino-sensei's voice rang out with approval as he surveyed the gathered students. "You've all witnessed her performance. Over the past few years, her progress has been remarkable. Her grades in ninjutsu, taijutsu, and even genjutsu have improved by leaps and bounds. If the rest of you put in as much effort as Kazue, I would be at ease."

The class murmured in response. Some nodded in agreement, while others whispered among themselves, surprised by Kazue's sudden rise in skill.

Uchiha Kazue lowered her head slightly in gratitude. Just a few years ago, her abilities had been mediocre at best. But recently, something had changed. She had not only caught up with her peers but had nearly reached the level of a Genin before even graduating.

Yuuji, of course, also stepped onto the stage.

His opponent? Gekkou Hayate.

The two clashed, their blows meeting in a lackluster exchange. Neither gained the upper hand for long, and when the match ended, it was clear that Yuuji's performance was… average.

In the end, Uchiha Kazue secured first place in the class. Her sudden explosion of talent left many stunned.

---

After class, as most students filed out of the training grounds, Yuuji took his time gathering his things before heading home.

As an orphan of war, the village provided him with a place to live and a stipend to ensure he was taken care of. Between that and the inheritance from his deceased parents, his financial situation was stable.

Yet, his greatest expense wasn't food or weapons.

It was the silver-fiber bandages wrapped around his body.

Crafting them was costly, draining much of his wealth, but they were essential without them, the consequences could be catastrophic.

"Half a year at most… and I'll have full control over the nuclear radiation inside me. Maybe that will finally bring balance between me and Godzilla."

He mused as he stirred a pot over the stove. The simple act of cooking grounded him, giving him a rare moment of peace amid his ever-present worries.

But there was no denying reality.

A creature like Godzilla was a force of nature, an existence akin to a Son of the Earth.

Across different depictions, Godzilla often played the role of a guardian, a necessary force in Earth's ecosystem rather than a true enemy of humanity. But the problem was simple his power was too immense.

Even an idle movement could have devastating effects.

For Yuuji, that power manifested in nuclear radiation, a force he had struggled to contain for years.

It was also why he avoided unnecessary movement. The less he exerted himself, the lower the risk of radiation leakage.

But deep down, he suspected there was more to it than just suppression.

Godzilla's influence was subtly modifying his body.

Perhaps it was due to the nature of chakra, but if not for this unknown factor, he should have succumbed to radiation poisoning years ago. Instead, his body continued to endure no, adapt.

The changes weren't one-sided either. Just as Godzilla's presence influenced him, his own efforts in chakra refinement seemed to affect the dormant titan within him.

It was a mutual adaptation.

---

Analyzing his experiences, Yuuji had reached a shocking conclusion.

"The total number of cells in my body… it's far beyond that of an ordinary human."

He came to this realization after comparing his chakra capacity with that of his peers.

During their Three Basic Jutsu training, he noticed a stark difference. While many of his classmates could only manage a few uses of the Clone Jutsu, Transformation Jutsu, and Substitution Jutsu before tiring, he remained unaffected even when deliberately holding back.

He had yet to refine chakra on a large scale, yet his reserves were already leagues above most students.

A normal human body contained approximately thirteen trillion cells. To generate chakra, the user had to combine the energy of every cell with their spiritual energy.

As a transmigrator, Yuuji was certain that his spiritual energy was naturally higher than the average person's, but that alone didn't explain his absurd chakra reserves.

The only logical explanation?

His body itself was abnormal.

His cells were beyond human limits.

---

Not only that, but his recovery speed and physical endurance were astonishing traits commonly associated with the Senju and Uzumaki clans.

Could it be that his body was undergoing a mutation?

He exhaled slowly, tightening his grip on his chopsticks.

He needed more data.

Somehow, he had to obtain precision scientific instruments to analyze his own body.

With the war ongoing, it wouldn't be easy. But sooner or later, he would have to fight on the battlefield. Even if he was initially assigned to logistics or medical support, conflict was inevitable.

There wasn't much time left.

"It's about time we had a proper meeting… Big Guy."

Yuuji murmured under his breath, feeling the dormant titan stirring ever so slightly within him.

---

After dinner, he retired to his bedroom.

He settled into a meditative position, adjusting his breathing as if preparing to refine chakra.

To anyone watching, it would seem like nothing more than a standard training exercise.

But in reality, he had a different goal tonight.

With Anbu and other covert organizations on high alert due to the war, any strange activity would attract suspicion. He had to be cautious.

He was going to enter his own subconscious.

Tonight, he would finally see the behemoth within him with his own eyes.

But more importantly…

He needed to confirm exactly which version of Godzilla resided inside him.

Because that single piece of information could determine his entire fate in this world.
