When uncertain, consult Baidu!
This was Xu Yang's habitual solution.
"How to scare ghosts?"
He typed the question and hit search.
Answers flooded the screen:
"You're scaring yourself! There's no such thing as ghosts. Believe in science!"
"Don't wear makeup."
"Become a ghost yourself first."
Xu Yang's face darkened. What nonsense!
Scrolling further, he found more plausible suggestions:
1. **The Evil Person**: Truly wicked individuals could frighten even ghosts.
*Maybe I should act more menacing?*
2. **Butcher's Knife**: Blades soaked in animal slaughter's resentment could repel spirits.
"But where to find one at midnight?"
The second idea sparked inspiration—use what ghosts fear. What do spirits dread most?
*Ghost hunters!*
*Taoist priests!*
Xu Yang dashed upstairs. "Ghost sis, I'm visiting Yuzhen Town. Care to join? Consider it returning to your roots."
"NO!" Blood-red characters blazed without her lifting eyes from the TV.
*Damn!* Previously clinging like glue, now refusing when needed?
The mountain road stretched dark and winding. Xu Yang's headlights cut through the night as he followed PeachSis's live stream. The GPS estimated three hours to Dawa Village.
At midnight, his car crunched gravel outside Dawa Complete Primary School. Rusted gates hung askew, revealing overgrown playgrounds and crumbling red-brick buildings.
PeachSis's SUV occupied the cracked basketball court. Her shrill voice carried through the night:
"Useless! Can't even hire a local to play ghost? Offer more money!"
A skinny assistant pleaded, "The villagers refuse. They say this place is truly haunted..."
"Superstitious hicks!" PeachSis's curse echoed. Her heavily filtered face twisted in frustration—far removed from her livestream persona.
Xu Yang emerged from shadows. The cameraman rushed over. "Hey! Want easy cash? We need someone to play ghost!"
"Me? Here?" Xu Yang feigned shock. "This place is already haunted!"
PeachSis strutted forward, silicone curves straining her low-cut top. "Ghosts? I've done dozens of haunted spots—never seen shit!"
Xu Yang suppressed a smirk. *You're about to.*
"Look..." PeachSis flipped through a script. "Wear this white robe, moan near the burnt classroom. Simple!"
Her assistant thrust a greasepaint kit forward. Xu Yang eyed the decaying school buildings. Somewhere in those ruins, four child spirits awaited.
*Perfect.* He grinned. "Where's my costume?"
Unseen above, the female ghost materialized on a dead tree branch. Crimson nails tapped spectral lips.
[Foolish mortal.] Her whisper rustled dead leaves. [You court calamity.]
