There are four factors that affect the speed of the Train.
External acceleration components.
Different types of wheels.
The Train's own weight.
The Train's level.
The Stellar currently uses Level 1 Wind-Fire Wheels, which have the advantage of maintaining the fastest speed in the wilderness among wheels of the same level, adding a maximum speed of 30 km/h.
The original base maximum speed of the Train was 100 km/h.
After upgrading to a Level 2 Train, the base maximum speed increased to 130 km/h.
With the addition of the Wind-Fire Wheels and the Train's own weight.
"156 km/h"
"."
Chen Mang looked at the maximum speed displayed on the control panel screen, took a deep breath, and quickly calmed down. His mind began to race through countless combinations. Now, there were only two ways to increase speed.
He certainly didn't have any external acceleration components, so the only options were upgrading the Wind-Fire Wheels or disconnecting all the carriages.
But.
Upgrading the Wind-Fire Wheels from Level 1 to Level 2 required a damn 1000 units of Iron Ore, and he only had 913 units, which wasn't enough. However, he could throw those firearms and such into the Geothermal Furnace, which should make up the remaining 87 units.
Climbing through the skylight to the front of the Train and throwing the firearms into the furnace was risky, but feasible.
If that unknown presence behind was chasing closely.
That would be the only way.
"However"
Chen Mang looked at the empty night reflected in the rearview mirror of the Train's head. This speed should be sufficient, right? No monster could run at this speed with its legs, not even a Zombie could run that fast even if it tried its hardest!
"Master Lu."
In the Train room of the Train with 8 carriages left, a burly man with a Guanyin Bodhisattva tattoo shook his head and looked up at a dwarf man sitting on the control panel, whispering, "That Train doesn't have a Train Radio, so we can't contact them."
"Sigh."
The dwarf man sitting on the control panel sighed softly, shaking his head with some regret: "What a pity. If the people on that Train had abandoned it and fled into the mine, they might have escaped."
"Seeing us flee in panic, they panicked and fled with us."
"The speed of their Train will soon be caught up by that thing."
"This guy really is."
"Taiping City has been in a killing frenzy these past few days. This guy hasn't been mining here all this time, has he? How dare he really mine!"
He remembered this Train.
A few days ago, when he eagerly went to Taiping City to kill, this Train was mining here. Over there, it was a bloodbath these past few days. When he escaped, he found this Train was still mining here.
Impressive.
While the world is engulfed in chaos, you're quietly growing stronger, aren't you?
It seems the harvest was not bad; even the Train's head has armor now.
He also grew from being weak, so he could understand this unseen Train Conductor, but... it's still a bit of a pity. After mining for a few days, he dug his way to hell. I hope there's mining in hell.
If there is mining in hell, it must be Rare Ore. Maybe we could even build a Hell Train or something.
At high speed, he quickly lost sight of that Train. He could only play with the Buddhist beads on his wrist, closed his eyes, and clicked his tongue: "I'm so kind-hearted that I must go to heaven after death. Then I'll build a Heaven Train or something."
That Man-Eating Spider behind is Level 3.
The heavy machine guns and automatic cannons in their Train are Level 2 and cannot penetrate its defense. They can bully the young ones, but they can't do anything to that boss.
When the monster's level surpasses the level of the offensive Vehicle Components, the offensive Vehicle Components cannot cause damage. The damage will be directly ignored, not even scratching it.
Even red-grade Vehicle Components, like a Level 2 Defensive Turret, cannot damage a Level 3 Zombie.
What determines the power of offensive Vehicle Components is their grade and level.
But what determines whether offensive Vehicle Components can penetrate defense depends solely on their level.
Upgrading offensive Vehicle Components not only increases their power but also allows them to effectively damage higher-level monsters.
Of course, Level 1 is an exception.
Level 1 monsters are the most basic monsters; even ordinary weapons like fire axes can damage them. After the apocalypse, all firearms became ineffective. To have firearms that can sufficiently damage monsters, one can only use the production line in the Train to craft them.
Thus.
The Train is the only main theme of this world.
Originally.
Several Trains kept provoking at the edge. When that Level 3 Man-Eating Spider ran to one end, the Trains at the other end took the opportunity to kill the boss's young, thereby obtaining the possibly dropped rare resources and component blueprints.
But... who knew that after too many young were killed, the Man-Eating Spider went mad. It didn't care about its young in the city and started chasing their Trains like crazy.
Then they could only flee; what else could they do?
They initially scattered in different directions to escape, but later, the boss spewed all its webs to block other paths, forcing them to head in one direction. After running into the wilderness, they didn't need to turn anymore; just full throttle to the max, their speed was slightly faster.
"It's a pity, though."
The dwarf man sitting on the control panel looked regretfully at the sandy wilderness behind. The rare resources obtained from killing the Man-Eating Spider's young these past few days were quite good, almost making up for the losses. If they could kill this Man-Eating Spider boss, the dropped rare resources would surely be even richer.
But.
Only Level 3 and above offensive Vehicle Components can damage this Man-Eating Spider.
Whether it's the green-grade heavy machine gun or the blue-grade automatic cannon, upgrading them to Level 3 costs a lot of Iron Ore. He didn't prioritize upgrading these two because Level 3 monsters are rarely encountered in this wilderness. However, there is a Level 3 Soaring Dragon Assault Rifle production line.
But the bullets fired from that Level 3 rifle would be like tickling the Man-Eating Spider.
It can penetrate defense, but it's useless.
White-grade offensive Vehicle Components don't cost much to upgrade, but white-grade Vehicle Components can't be upgraded to Level 3.
So they could only flee.
At this moment——
In the Stellar, Chen Mang, sitting in the control room of the Train, suddenly felt the ground shaking. He instinctively looked at the Train's rearview mirror, and with just one glance, his breath nearly stopped.
In the distance, a spider more than ten meters tall was sprinting towards him at an incredible speed.
At first glance, it looked like a small mountain running wild.
"."
Chen Mang took a deep breath, his face pale. He felt all the blood in his body rush to the back of his head, and his adrenaline surged rapidly. For the first time, he realized he might have megalophobia.
He wasn't particularly afraid of spiders, but seeing such a huge spider for the first time was overly stimulating.
