Using the Copper Green Relic Gu also did not have any major drawbacks, as it would hasten his progress in his cultivation which he wanted to do anyway. Granted, it was more efficient to wait until he was at the upper minor realm so that it would have the largest effect.
It was possible that the 'system' would give him another Copper Green Relic Gu at some point down the line, but there was no guarantee of that.
Still, it was not too much of a massive loss to use it now.
The issue was, once again, that he could not explain how he had done so if anyone were to ask how he had suddenly advanced by a massive leap overnight! Although they thought he had B-grade talent, he could not greatly overshadow Fang Zheng.
Copper Green Relic Gu were so rare that none were sold in Gu Yue village. How would he explain where he got it from? It would put him under intense scrutiny. He could also not hide his cultivation as his aperture would be regularly examined by the academy elder during this first year.
People would not assume he had a 'system' they would think that he had found an inheritance and would be extremely eager to find out where that inheritance was. They would not believe Fang Yuan about this 'system' even if he told them so.
For that matter, the Liquor Worm accomplished something similar to the Green Copper Relic Gu. It could raise the quality of one's primeval essence by a minor realm. The difference was that the Liquor Worm's effect did not change one's actual cultivation level, and it had to be fed and nourished while using so.
This would normally be two drawbacks, but they were actually beneficial to Fang Yuan in this situation. Once he went up a minor realm, the walls of his aperture would also change, which is something that he could not hide, though if he had the Liquor Worm, all he had to do was not use it before his aperture was examined. Not only that, its effect could be turned 'off' at crucial moments.
As he pondered this issue, he was interrupted by a knock at the door.
Shen Cui's voice floated inside. "Young Master, I have brought something for you."
"Come in."
Shen Cui had changed in a flowing diaphanous pink nightgown and had put on dark scarlet lipstick. She was carrying a tray with wine and dinner on it, and a sweet fragrance accompanied her. She was dolled up like she was ready for her honeymoon night.
'So they've chosen to act much faster this time,' Fang Yuan thought. The fact that he was considered a B-grade talent in this timeline likely forced his Uncle to act swifter and with more fierceness this time.
Shen Cui put the tray on the table, but did not leave, instead sidling up to Fang Yuan. The smell of her perfume- crushed pine needles and jasmine tea, was even more prominent.
"Young Master Fang Yuan," Shen Cui whispered. "I know that your heart is dejected, being only B-grade talent compared to your brother's A-grade... I've seen you wandering out at night drinking your worries away. But as for me..." she said as she poured him a glass, "...I do not care for your talent, Young Master, this servant only wishes to accompany you. Allow me to give my body to you tonight..."
She froze for a second. There was something... extremely frosty about Fang Yuan's expression, but as he turned away, her confidence came back.
After all, he was still just a young hormonal teenage boy. How could he possibly resist-
Before she could finish that thought and stroke his face, a hand had emerged and gripped onto her throat.
Within an instant, she was asphyxiating.
"Young Master you..."
He turned to her, a dark expression on her face. "So Aunt and Uncle decided to make this kind of a play... not bad, if I say so myself." With one hand he continued to choke her, and with the other hand he reached down her gown and twisted her bosom.
"Please stop-" she barely managed to choke out. The cold aura he was emanating cut off any thought she had of fighting back- she didn't doubt for an instant that he would crush her throat if given the chance.
Since when had he become like this? She had watched Fang Yuan closely for many years,
"Did you think those two useless lumps of flesh could entice me?" he asked her. "I should kill you, but tell you what... in view of your years of service, I'll let you off so long as you get out of my sight immediately."
The moment he let go, Shen Cui left without making another sound.
Those eyes... those pools of darkness would haunt her dreams!
Secret mission complete!
If She Breathes, She's A Thot I
Description: Show a thot her place.
Reward: Cultivation Blessing: Gu Upgrade [Mortal]
Gu Upgrade [Mortal] can increase the rank of any mortal Gu by one rank without need of expending any primeval stones or refinement materials. The upgraded Gu is random.
'Interesting power,' Fang Yuan thought. His first thought was to use it on the Green Copper Relic Gu- it had only one path of advancement and would then become a Red Steel Relic Gu which could raise his cultivation by a minor realm at Rank Two. That was more valuable than the Green Copper Relic Gu, especially given the fact that he had other methods to get to Rank One peak stage right now if he got the Liquor Worm or was able to raise his aptitude high enough.
However, it was apparent that it was too dangerous to stay here for now. Shen Cui had left without making a fuss, and while the people waiting outside to frame him for assault were no doubt frustrated right now, it would not stop them from trying something else.
It would be best to stay in the village inn for now.
Although it was late, the innkeeper gave no trouble to Fang Yuan on account of him being a Gu Master as he walked in, purchased some more wine, and headed out to see if he could encounter the Liquor Worm.
