Ephemeral Splendor

"Hey! Liu Xing, don't tell me you're also a certified master chef or something?"

During their meal, Su Ming and the other two had already introduced themselves.

The delivery guy's real name was Liu Xing—a name that didn't exactly scream seriousness. The girl was called Leng Yueling, a local from this bustling metropolis.

"Wow, bro, your intuition is spot - on! I just got my certification as a master chef not long ago!" Liu Xing replied between mouthfuls of food.

No way!

Su Ming couldn't help but think: What kind of person manages to become a certified accountant, a master mechanic, and now a master chef—all before turning thirty? This guy's a walking talent show!

Shaking his head to clear his thoughts, Su Ming asked, "You mentioned earlier that you came here to explore starting a snack business. How about joining me?"

Liu Xing paused, swallowed the food in his mouth, took a big gulp of mineral water handed to him by Leng Yueling, and then asked with shining eyes, "Bro, are you planning to expand into snacks?"

"Yeah, I'm working with two good friends to open a food plaza back in Jiangzhou. It's almost finished and should be up and running shortly after the New Year," Su Ming explained with a smile.

"After the New Year? That's just over a month away! Bro, count me in!" Liu Xing's eyes lit up even more.

"Perfect. Once you get back to Jiangzhou, go straight to my friends. I'll give you the address later. You can negotiate your salary with them, and at the end of the year, I'll give you a 5% profit share. What do you think?" Su Ming proposed.

Liu Xing's eyes were practically glowing now. "Bro, you're like a brother to me! I knew it—handsome guys are always good people! Bro, I'm all in!"

"I'll book a ticket right now and head back to Jiangzhou tonight!" Liu Xing said, pulling out his phone and swiftly booking a flight back to Jiangzhou, his movements smooth as if he'd practiced them hundreds of times.

"Aren't you rushing things a bit? You just got to this city. Why not stay a few more days?" Su Ming couldn't help but ask, watching Liu Xing's quick actions.

"No rush! Opportunities in life are rare, and you have to seize every one!" Liu Xing sighed.

At that moment, he noticed Leng Yueling holding a pink notebook, jotting something down. Curious, he leaned over to take a look.

"Wow, Yueling, your bucket list is pretty simple. Wait, what? Your last wish is to have your ashes scattered at sea? What's worrying you? You've got decades ahead of you!"

"Ah! None of your business, you jerk!" Leng Yueling, like a child caught doing something naughty, quickly tucked away her pink notebook.

"Alright, alright, I won't meddle. But hey, I'm heading back to Jiangzhou today. Otherwise, I'd help you check off your bucket list—except for the fifth one!" Liu Xing said with a helpless expression.

"Ding! Choice triggered!"

"Option 1: Help Leng Yueling complete her bucket list. Reward: Erasure Card. (System note: The Erasure Card can erase any event!)"

"Option 2: Choose to ignore. Reward: Title—'I'm a Killer, No Emotions.'"

As soon as Liu Xing finished speaking, Su Ming heard the system's prompt in his mind.

Su Ming was slightly taken aback. This time, the reward was quite special. The Erasure Card was undoubtedly a powerful item, capable of erasing any event—it was practically a rule - breaking tool.

Thinking this, Su Ming silently chose Option 1.

"Thank you so much!" Leng Yueling laughed.

"How about I help you complete your bucket list?" Su Ming suddenly offered.

Both Leng Yueling and Liu Xing were stunned. Then Liu Xing said, "That's my bro for you! Since you're interested, I'll leave this beauty to you. I gotta go catch my ride!"

With that, Liu Xing grabbed his backpack and dashed off, his speed almost unbelievable. Truly a delivery guy who came and went like the wind.

It was only then that Leng Yueling reacted, her cheeks slightly flushed. She lowered her head and asked, "Really? Su Ming?"

"Of course, really. Let me see, what's on your bucket list?" Su Ming replied, ignoring Liu Xing's departure.

"I'll read it to you!" Leng Yueling quickly pulled out her notebook and began reading.

"1. Find someone to eat all the delicacies in Yulin Village with me."

"2. Find someone to ride a Ferris wheel with me."

"3. Find someone to take a cruise with me."

"4. Find someone to climb the highest mountain in Mo City with me and watch the sunset."

"Let's skip the fifth one!"

"Well, the first one's already done. Let's go ride the Ferris wheel!" Su Ming said directly after listening.

As for the fifth one, Liu Xing had already mentioned it, so Su Ming didn't pay it any mind.

"Okay!" Leng Yueling stood up, tucked away her notebook, and skipped along as she followed Su Ming out of Yulin Village.

---

In front of the Ferrari, Leng Yueling's eyes widened.

"Wow! Is this your car? It's so cool! Is it a Ferrari? It's way cooler than that Luo Ao guy's car!" Leng Yueling, like a child, reached out to touch the sleek body of the Ferrari.

"Nope, it's not mine. It's a friend's. I didn't have a ride in Mo City, so I borrowed it," Su Ming replied with a smile.

"Wow! What exactly is your background? If your friend drives a car like this, you must be someone important, right?" Leng Yueling scrutinized Su Ming.

"I'm just an ordinary guy. Come on, let's go! If we don't finish your bucket list today, I might not be able to help you tomorrow," Su Ming changed the subject.

"Oh! Right! I've never ridden in such a nice car before. Let's go, let's go!" Leng Yueling got excited and quickly got into the car.

Soon, the two of them drove off.

It was still early, so they headed straight into the city to the Ferris wheel.

As they rode the Ferris wheel, Leng Yueling shouted with excitement, while Su Ming watched her with a smile.

It really was like taking care of a child. Leng Yueling's behavior was exactly like someone riding a Ferris wheel for the first time.

After the Ferris wheel, they took a cruise, drifting on the sea for about an hour.

Leng Yueling, feeling a bit dizzy, was helped off the boat by Su Ming.

Finally, they climbed a mountain to watch the sunset.

Around four o'clock, they reached the foot of the mountain.

They climbed the steps all the way to the top.

By the time they reached the summit, Leng Yueling was panting and out of breath, while Su Ming felt nothing. After all, with his master - level cultivation, he could have sprinted to the top in just a few minutes without breaking a sweat.

The mountaintop was crowded.

Everyone was taking photos of the sunset, but Leng Yueling just stood there quietly, her eyes shining as if she wanted to etch this moment into her memory forever.

"Aren't you going to take a few pictures?" Su Ming asked curiously.

"No, the beauty of this moment is only more cherished when it's gone," Leng Yueling replied.

Su Ming didn't say anything, but he was deep in thought.

How could these words have come from someone so young and full of life? Su Ming felt that he must be missing something, but for the moment, he just couldn't figure out what it was.

With a shake of his head, Su Ming pushed the thought aside.

Before long, the sun had fully disappeared below the horizon, and darkness enveloped the sky. Together with the crowd, they descended from the mountaintop.
