Ch 194 : It's that woman!

To prepare for any sudden situations and allow Lyney to enter his eerie state at any time to fight enemies, Lynette ultimately returned to the underwater submersible together with Freminet, maintaining a distance within 100 meters of the Alcor.

Before leaving, Freminet handed a switch button and a launcher to Aether and said:

"Pressing this switch for the first time will cause Lynette to slow down and move away from the Alcor..."

"Then you can do what I did before—use this launcher, which contains some of Lynette's personal belongings, to fire them in the direction of the enemy. That will shift Lyney's hatred onto the enemy…"

"Once Lyney enters his eerie state, Lynette will return to stand by beneath the Alcor. Then, when you press the button again, Lynette will appear, and that will immediately cancel Lyney's eerie state…"

Not long after Freminet and Lynette departed, Beidou also climbed back up from the sea, bringing along a lot of squid meat.

"I've been sailing the seas for years—no one knows seafood better than me…"

"Back during the battle, the lighting was so bad I couldn't see clearly. I thought it was some kind of new species of squid…"

"But now that I've brought it up for a closer look—this is the same kind of squid we have in Liyue! In fact, it's from the area near Guyun Stone Forest…"

"When the Alcor has no business elsewhere, it's docked near Guyun most of the time. The fisherman brothers around there are already tired of eating this stuff…"

"Even though this squid looks big, in the end it's still the same species… The texture and taste shouldn't be all that different…"

"Sigh… What a waste of excitement!"

"Why would a squid from the Guyun Stone Forest species show up here?" Paimon swayed back and forth, asking in confusion.

"No, wait—the real point is that this giant squid was being controlled by eerie powers, right?" Aether said.

"Could it be that something's also going wrong over at Guyun Stone Forest in Liyue?"

"That's definitely a possibility. The missing people in Liyue might be connected to these sea creatures that have been turned eerie," Su Yuan nodded in agreement.

"Fontaine encountered something similar before too. Could it be that these sea creatures have also been polluted and controlled by Dottore's eerie powers?"

"I remember there's a powerful seal under the sea at Guyun Stone Forest… sealing the vortex god, Osial."

"He's no ordinary being—he's a god. If he were to be polluted and controlled by eerie powers, the destructive force he could unleash… it's unimaginable."

"I don't believe that Ningguang—so cunning and calculating—would be unaware of all this. She must have prepared for these possibilities long ago… unless she's already been corrupted by the eerie powers herself."

Beidou spoke up:

"But worrying about it here won't help. Once we return to Liyue, everything will become clear!"

................

The rest of the journey went smoothly.

After a full day of sailing, by dusk, the Alcor finally arrived at Liyue Harbor.

"Su Yuan, are you really not getting off the ship? We've finally made it to Liyue—aren't you even a little curious to take a look?" Beidou asked, turning to Su Yuan.

Su Yuan did want to go ashore and see Liyue… to see how those people—who were once familiar to him, albeit one-sidedly—were doing now.

Although the palm of his left hand had warned him three times not to set foot in Liyue, technically, he was just passing by.

He hadn't stepped on Liyue's land yet, so… maybe it didn't count as actually "arriving" in Liyue… right?

"I'll stay here with Su Yuan," Kazuha said to Beidou, looking at her calmly.

It seemed he had no intention of leaving the ship either.

"Alright then. Beidou and I will go visit Ningguang—it won't take long," Aether said as he and Paimon followed Beidou off the Alcor.

"What about you guys? You've come all this way to Liyue—don't you want to take a look around?" Su Yuan turned to Lyney and the others and asked.

"No need. The order our Father gave us was to stay by your side and assist you at any time," Lyney replied with a smile.

"Wherever you go, Su Yuan, that's where we'll be."

"Wherever my brother is, that's where I'll be," Lynette added.

"I… I don't like crowded places…" Freminet said softly.

After a while, Beidou, Aether, and Paimon returned.

"Ningguang doesn't seem to be having any issues, and she also admitted that the Liyue authorities are already aware of the Eerie," Beidou reported.

"Plus, they have their own ways of dealing with it. I also passed along some of the intel you knew to Ningguang."

"Ningguang is extremely sharp, and Liyue has the help of the Adepti. We shouldn't need to worry about them."

Hearing Beidou's words, Su Yuan couldn't help but recall the message from the palm of his right hand—Liyue would suffer the most damage, yet the disaster would feel the least severe.

That contradictory statement… what could it mean?

"It does seem like the situation in Inazuma is the most critical," Kazuha added.

"At least the upper levels of Liyue still have some control over the situation."

"But in Inazuma, the real problem lies at the top."

"Exactly. So there's no time to waste—we'll set sail overnight and arrive in Inazuma by tomorrow morning," Beidou said.

After quickly restocking their supplies, the Alcor prepared to depart from Liyue Harbor.

"But before we head to Inazuma, let's first take a look around Guyun Stone Forest."

Beidou looked toward the direction of Guyun Stone Forest and said:

"Even though Ningguang told me everything was normal over there…"

"That giant squid we encountered earlier still gives me the feeling that something's wrong around Guyun."

"Well, hearing something is one thing, seeing it with your own eyes is another. There's no harm in checking it out—it's just a small detour," Aether nodded in agreement.

With that, Beidou steered the Alcor northeast, toward Guyun Stone Forest from Liyue Harbor…

However, as the ship reached a stretch of sea between Guyun and the harbor, everyone aboard suddenly felt something strange—like they had passed through a thin, invisible membrane…

And then, the view before them changed completely—

The once calm sea turned into a raging, stormy swell, littered with floating chunks of flesh…

And the seawater was no longer a clear blue—but darkened with streaks of crimson-red liquid, as if soaked with someone's blood…

Everyone stared in shock, unsure of what had just happened…

In the next moment, a figure appeared with the swirling wind, landing on the Alcor's deck—

But it wasn't a human figure.

It was a crane—a mystical one, with light blue and white feathers, cyan wings, and crimson markings around its eyes!

"Ah! It's that woman!" Paimon exclaimed in surprise.
