Ch 219 : The truth of eternity

"The true eternity? Hahahaha… That's the funniest joke I've heard all day!"

Facing Raiden Shogun's words, the Wanderer burst into laughter:

"You don't seriously believe that just because Dottore managed to revive a few dead people, he can really help you achieve that so-called true eternity, do you?"

"I only believe in what I've seen with my own eyes…" Raiden Shogun said slowly, "As I continued constructing the Statue of Omnipresent God, more and more people who had passed away began to appear once again on Inazuman soil…"

"If it were just ordinary people, I might not have believed it…"

"But I saw it with my own eyes—Miko, she came back…"

The Wanderer scoffed in disdain. "And you're so sure that the Miko you saw… is truly the Miko?"

"And now that she's returned, what next? Are you going to hope that tengu Sasayuri comes back? Or Chiyo of the oni tribe… or even—Raiden Makoto herself?"

"Admit it! You don't actually care about achieving some noble 'eternity.' You're just selfishly clinging to your own desires—to resurrect the friends you lost!"

"And now, I'll tell you the whole truth. I'll tell you what Dottore is really plotting!"

But Raiden Shogun didn't seem interested in hearing another word from the Wanderer.

Instead, lightning crackled around her as she gathered Electro energy—then launched a direct strike at him!

"Although I don't like fake eyes, suddenly… your eyes have piqued my interest."

"I'm going to pluck them out and embed them into the Statue of Omnipresent God!"

The Wanderer swiftly channeled Anemo energy, accelerating his movements to narrowly dodge Raiden Shogun's lightning slash!

"Hahaha… So you are afraid of hearing the rest of what I have to say?"

"Raiden Shogun, is this really the extent of your power? You don't even have the courage to face the truth?"

The Wanderer laughed wildly, continuing to mock her.

"The more you try to silence me, the more I'll speak. I will tell you everything!"

"The reason you're so obsessed with gaining the power of 'Istaroth'… is because you want to transcend time and bring those people from your past back into the present!"

"But those so-called resurrected people—they're not what you think. They didn't return from the past the way you believe!"

"Silence!" Raiden Shogun shouted as she launched another flurry of attacks, but the Wanderer evaded them all with ease.

"Your attacks are useless on me," he said, "I've trained against you countless times in my mind—imagining every move, every strike. I know your techniques like the back of my hand!"

The Wanderer knew that, in terms of raw power, he wasn't Raiden Shogun's equal…

But by simulating battle after battle in his mind, he had learned to read her techniques—analyzing and exploiting her every flaw…

To a degree, he had reached a level where he could fight her with ease.

The Wanderer understood clearly—unless Raiden Shogun unleashed her Musou no Hitotachi, he wouldn't be in any real danger…

And even if she did use the Musou no Hitotachi, while it was powerful, he could still resist it using that Eerie power—even if only barely.

The very fact that he dared return to Inazuma meant he had come fully prepared!

"For those whose corpses still remain, Dottore uses their biological tissues… With their cells, he cultivates entirely new bodies for them."

"I have to admit—when it comes to things like that, Dottore really is an expert."

"You said you saw the figure of Kitsune Saiguu… That just proves Dottore must've obtained some of her remains—used her cells to grow a new corpse in her image…"

"So I suggest you go visit Kitsune Saiguu's grave. Chances are, Dottore already dug up her ancestral tomb!"

"I said, shut up!!!" Raiden Shogun's voice was laced with fury as her attacks against the Wanderer grew even more ferocious.

"Of course, even if there's no physical tissue left behind, Dottore can still fabricate a new body from scratch…"

The Wanderer nimbly dodged another of her strikes, continuing coldly:

"Rosalyne is a perfect example—she died by your hand, didn't even leave ashes behind… and yet, Dottore still managed to recreate a body for her."

"Though I'd imagine that kind of body must face rejection... it'll never be as good as the original."

"And so the real question is: once the body's done, how does Dottore implant their consciousness—or should I say, their souls—into them?"

"You think everything Dottore told you was the truth? That those souls were brought back from the past?"

"You couldn't be more wrong. He lied to you. Those so-called 'souls'—they're nothing but filth extracted from the roots of the Sacred Sakura, from the ley lines!"

Raiden Shogun froze, standing motionless, a stunned and bewildered expression etched across her face.

"You know as well as I do—ley line energy can't sustain them in this world for long. Their so-called resurrection… is nothing but a fleeting illusion."

"There is no such thing as true eternity in this world!!!"

"However, even if there is no true eternity, as long as I can see my sister again, even if it is only for a brief moment, to speak with her once more, I would be content…"

Raiden Shogun spoke slowly, but the Wanderer had already realized that Beelzebul seemed to have taken control of the Shogun puppet's body again…

"Beelzebul, you finally made an appearance…" the Wanderer spoke slowly, "I really thought you'd stay hidden, continue to avoid facing things…"

"You've turned a blind eye to the atrocities of the Shogun puppet, harmed countless people, just to see Raiden Makoto for a moment?"

The Wanderer smiled at Beelzebul:

"So, you truly are a selfish person…"

"I'm not… I didn't… I didn't want to do this…" Beelzebul murmured softly.

"Beelzebul, since you've returned, then hurry up and abolish this pointless Vision Hunt Decree!"

"But honestly, seeing you in such a pathetic state really brings me great satisfaction…"

"So, Wanderer, who exactly are you?"

Beelzebul spoke slowly:

"Although I sense something similar between you and the Shogun puppet…"

"I still have no memory of you…"

"No memory is fine. I never wanted you to remember me!" the Wanderer responded bluntly.

"Raiden Shogun, although you're just a puppet, you have your own consciousness. Don't you really want to just be controlled by Beelzebul, to remain as a vassal forever?"

At this moment, the voice of Dottore came from nearby, and his figure appeared at the scene.

"Raiden Shogun, how could you be so easily swayed by the words of a stranger, letting Beelzebul find an opening? This really shouldn't have happened…"

"Hurry up and take back your body. Let's defeat the Wanderer together here!"
