Chapter 3: The Cursed King

Sypha stirred her body sinking into the soft bed beneath her, a dull ache pulsed in her head as she tried to open her eyes exhaustion lingering in her limbs, the room was dimly lit, but she could make out a few things the bedroom was big, bigger than hers at silver fang, the walls were dark stone lined with heavy curtains blocking light from coming in, the room smelled unfamiliar like leather it made her stomach twist.

She tried to wrap her head around what happened. She remembered Hector's men chasing her into the cursed shadow pack, but if this was the shadow pack she should be dead by now.

She looked around the dark room and the large door creaked open. A middle-aged woman stepped in she wore a dress that stopped at her feet and her gray and black hair was in a bun away from her face, she strolled towards Sypha a tray in her hand, and she placed it on the table next to her carefully.

"It's good to see you, you are awake," she said offering a reassuring smile.

Sypha studied her, she seemed genuinely consigned as a smile was plastered on her face. She dipped her hands into the bowl she brought in, a washcloth was also in her hand.

"Where am I?" she demanded, her voice rough from sleep.

"What am I doing here?" she asked her, but the woman kept cleaning, ignoring her completely.

She grabbed her arm "Where am I?" she asked with so much urgency in her eyes, the woman pulled her hand back as she sighed.

Sypha laid down as she cleaned her wiping at her head and neck to suppress the fever she had.

"The Alpha will tell you everything you need to know, but for now just rest."

Sypha's gut twisted, The Alpha, the shadow packs Alpha.

She gathered her things taking them with her as she shut the door with a soft click.

Her blood ran cold as she heard the woman's footstep retreating from the door, Sypha sprung out of the bed running for the windows, but they were sealed shut she tried the door, and it was open looking back to the bed she had nothing of hers as they had banished her with nothing she bolted out of the room.

The house was bigger than she expected, but she paid no attention to it as she darted through the halls towards what looked like an exit she tried making as little noise as possible, and pulling the door open she could taste freedom at the tip of her tongue she dashed out her feet hitting the floor as she looked back to make sure she wasn't being followed. She had to escape if she wanted to live. Everyone knew how ruthless the Alpha of the shadow pack was. He killed for fun she wasn't planning on tasting it.

As she was looking back while running she ran into a hard wall hitting her body so hard she stumbled a little, losing her balance.

Her hands were in the air as she fell backward,

"Ahh" her eyes moved to the wall and realized It wasn't a wall, rather it was a chest.

A huge chest, she was still in the air while her eyes moved to his face, but before she could see it, this person's strong hands grabbed her arms and pulled her to him breaking her fall. He pulled so hard that her hair flew back before her body crushed into his hard body and her head hit his hard chest.

Her breathing hitched as she felt the muscles behind his clothes.

"I'm so sorry," she apologized while moving back.

"I really didn't mean to… I'm so sorry… I."

Her words were stuck in her throat as her eyes met with those deep brown and unwavering beautiful eyes. She didn't even realize that brown could be such a hot color until she saw those big brown eyes and his hair shadowing his face.

It took her breath away as she could not form a sentence.

His eyes were something that mesmerized her, pulling her closer to him, so intense and beautiful. "He's a very attractive man, " she thought to herself.

His face has hard and manly features, high cheekbones, a jawline that is sharper than a knife, firmly smooth and thick dark brown hair, bushy, thick angular eyebrows, a sharp nose, and those pink-defined cupid's bow lips. Not to mention that beautiful flawless skin.

"Fuck!"

"He's a serious piece of art!" but this was not the time to be lusting after a man.

He was tall, taller than anyone she had ever met, so very tall with those broad, muscular shoulders and bulky biceps. He wasn't all that built-up huge man but looked like a sexy hot model. His face was emotionless, and his aura was screaming power. He was dressed in black which fitted him perfectly.

This man is devilishly hot and sexy, power rolled off him in waves.

He stared down at her face, his gaze piercing into her soul. She felt her throat dry as his gaze made the hair on the back of her neck stand up. She stepped back while gulping hard. Feeling the tension in the air as he kept gazing at her.

"I'm sorry," she said, and her voice came out in such low volume that he probably didn't hear.

"What the fuck, get your shit together. Apologize and run, don't fucking embarrass yourself." she thought making sure she didn't say it out loud.

His strong arms were still wrapped around her waist her body pressed against his.

"Running from something?" he asked looking deeply into her eyes.

"Is this how you treat your host to run away at the crack of dawn?"

Then it dawned on her, this was the lycan king, and she had her body pressed against his and his large arms just inches away from her butt, her cheeks filled with heat she was sure she was blushing.

She pushed away from him and she staggered a little, she hadn't fully recovered from being bound.

"Are you okay?" he asked, his face filled with concern.

"I didn't need your help, I could have caught myself."

"I don't need your mercy," she spat, glaring up at Trevor.

Sypha's hands curled into fists, her instincts screaming at her to run. But there was nowhere left to go.

A slow smirk played on his lips. "Good. Because I wasn't offering it."

"Then why I'm I alive?"

"I heard no foreigners stepped foot in the pack of the beast lycan king and survived, yet here I am?

He studied her, eyes narrowed in thought, he had been called worse, a monster, an evil being, but hearing this woman call him a beast…. It hurt its heart. "You're different." she smelled different. He could sense her but not her wolf. She clearly wasn't human. Something must have happened to her, he had a hunch he had something to do with the men who chased her.

Sypha clenched her jaw. "Let me go, you can't keep me here I'm not your prisoner."

Trevor let out a dark chuckle. "You think you have the right to make demands?" He leaned in closer, his breath fanning against her cheek.

"You're in my territory now, little wolf. The moment you stepped your feet into this pack you became mine, And I don't let anyone leave without a price."

"You owe me for saving you from those swine."

Sypha swallowed hard, her body frozen.

"And I collected what is mine, you belong to me now little wolf."
