The night was silent. The wind blew softly through the streets, but something disturbing hid in the darkness. The Shadow Dogs had arrived on Earth. Invisible to the naked eye, the creatures moved among the shadows, sniffing the energy emanating from the stone.
Luiz Fernando, still unaware of the imminent danger, finally lay down in his bed, trying to ignore the unsettling feeling that had been with him since the previous day. He tossed and turned, unable to sleep. His heart raced, and his mind insisted that something was wrong.
Suddenly, a strange noise echoed outside. It sounded like a low, deep growl—almost inhuman.
Luiz Fernando quickly got up and grabbed a piece of wood from the corner of his room. Moving cautiously, he approached the window and looked outside.
At first, everything seemed normal. But then, he saw them.
In the middle of the street, three shadows moved slowly, almost as if they were floating. Their shapes were undefined, but their eyes glowed with a deep, menacing red. The air grew heavier, charged with a suffocating energy.
A chill ran down Luiz's spine.
— "What the hell is that...?" — he whispered.
The dogs stopped. As if they had heard his voice, they slowly turned their heads toward the window.
Luiz's eyes widened. Instinctively, he took a step back.
Fear took over him, but at the same time, something inside him began to react. The stone within his body warmed, emitting a faint blue glow.
The dogs growled in unison, as if recognizing the energy. Then, without warning, they launched themselves with impossible speed, heading straight for the house.
BANG!
The front door was broken down, and Luiz barely had time to react. He stumbled backward as the shadow creatures flooded into his house. The atmosphere seemed to grow darker, and the temperature dropped drastically.
Instinct took over. Without thinking, Luiz raised his hands, and a wave of blue energy erupted from his body, throwing the dogs against the walls. They growled in frustration but quickly got back up, ready to attack again.
"I don't know how I'm doing this… but I need to fight!" Luiz thought, feeling the energy pulse in his chest.
The dogs jumped toward him again. Without fully understanding how, Luiz pointed his hands at them. A glowing blue sphere formed in his palm, and in the next instant, it shot out like a lightning bolt.
ZAP!
The explosion hit one of the dogs squarely, causing it to dissolve into shadows. The two remaining ones hesitated for a moment, as if reassessing the situation.
— "If you want to fight, then let's do this!" — Luiz said, adrenaline coursing through his veins.
But before he could attack again, a distant howl echoed through the night, causing the dogs to retreat. They gave Luiz one last look before disappearing into the darkness, fleeing as if they had received a new order.
Luiz let out a deep sigh, his body trembling.
What the hell had just happened?
He looked at his hands, still glowing with a faint blue light. He knew he couldn't run from the truth anymore.
Something was coming after him.
And for the first time, he realized he would have to fight for his survival.
Far above the galaxy, sitting on his throne of darkness, Graus smiled ironically.
— "Interesting… Looks like the kid isn't as useless as I thought. This is going to be fun."The war had just begun.
