Shadows in the Night.

Suddenly, a faint light flickered to life at the end of the hallway. Luna's heart skipped a beat as she realized that someone- or - something- was standing just out of sight. Luna's heart was racing, as he slowly approached the light source, she could feel her senses on high alert, her eyes scanning the darkness for any sign of movement. As she rounded the corner , she saw a figure standing in the shadows. The light was coming from a small flashlight in their hand, casting eerie shadows on the wall. Luna's eyes narrowed as she tried to make out the figure's features. But they were shrouded in darkness, making it impossible to see their face," who are you?" Luna demanded, trying to keep her voice steady. The figure slowly raised its head , and Luna caught a glimpse of piercing eyes in the darkness, " I'm someone who's been watching you, Luna" the figure said in a low, gravelly voice ," someone who's been waiting for you to discover the truth" , Luna's eyes locked on to the figure's,her mind racing with questions," what truth?" She demanded," what are you talking about?" The figure chuckled , a low menacing sound," you really don't know, do you? " It said, " you don't know what's been going on in this town, what's been happening to people like you ." Luna's heart was racing now. She felt like she was on the verge of discovering something huge , something that could change everything.

" Tell me ", she said, her voice barely above a whisper, the figure raised its head,its eyes glinting in the darkness, " you want to Know the truth, Luna?" It said," the truth is , this town is not what it seems. There are secrets here, secrets that could get you killed".

Suddenly, the figure turned and disappeared into the darkness, leaving Luna stunned and confused.

Luna stood there, Frozen in shock, as the darkness seemed to close in around her. She felt like she'd been punched in the gut,her mind reeling with questions and fears. What secrets was the figure talking about? What did they mean by " people like you"? And what did it all have to do with the strange occurrences in the town? As she tried to process everything, Luna's fear grew . She felt like she was in way over her head,like she'd stumbled into something much bigger and more sinister than she could ever have imagined. She slowly backed away from the darkness,her eyes scanning the hallway for any sign of movement, she knew she had to get out of there ,to get back to safety of her bedroom. But as she turned to run,Luna realized she wasn't alone. There were footsteps behind her, heavy and deliberate. Luna took off in a Sprint,her heart racing as she desperately tried to outrun the footsteps behind her.

She could hear them getting closer and closer, the heavy thuds echoing through the hallway. She darted around a corner,her eyes scanning the area for any sign of safety.she spotted a door at the end of the hall and made a beeline for it, praying that it would lead her to freedom. Luna burst through the door and found herself in a crowded hallway, students were milling about, chatting and laughing,Luna felt a wave of relief wash over her. She pulled her way through the crowd, desperate to find a teacher or someone who could help her. But as she looked around, she realized that something was off. The students seemed.... different, their eyes seemed glazed over, and their smiles seemed forced. Luna's eyes scanned the hallway, searching for someone, anyone, who seemed normal,but every students she looked at seemed...off, their smilee seemed too wide, their laughter seemed too loud, and their eyes... Their eyes seemed to be staring right through her . Luna's skin crawled as she realized that something was wrong.

She tried to push her way through the crowd,but the students,seemed to closing in around her. She could feel their hot breath in her skin, their cold eyes boring into her soul. Suddenly,Luna heard a voice whispering in her ear," you don't belong here" ,it said. Luna spun around,but there was no one there. The students seemed to be staring at her, their faces expressionless. She didn't know what was going on, she spotted a door at the end of the hallway and made a beeline for it. She could hear the students behind her,their footsteps echoing off the walls, Luna burst through the door and found herself in a long, dark corridor. She didn't know where she was or where she was going, but she knew she had to keep moving, she started to run,her feet pounding the floor. She could hear the students behind her, the voices calling out to her. Suddenly, Luna saw wa glimmer of light ahead, she burst through the doors and found herself outside, gasping in the cool night air but she as she looked back at the school,Luna saw that she wasn't safe yet. The students were pouring out of the doors,their eyes fixed on her. Luna took off in Sprint, her feet pounding the pavement, she could hear the students behind.

Their footsteps getting closer and closer, she darted between the trees, using her knowledge of the school grounds to evade her pursuers. But no matter how fast she ran, the students seemed to gaining on her, Luna's breath was coming in ragged gasps, sh didn't know how much longer she could keep running. Just when she thought she was going to collapse, Luna saw a light in the distance, it was a street lamp, casting a warm glow over the deserted street. She burst out of the schoo grounds, and onto the street, gasping with relief. She had made it.

But as she looked back at the school, Luna saw the students pouring out of the gates. They were still coming for her. Luna waved her arms wildly, trying to flag down a passing car, she was desperate for help, and she knew she couldn't outrun the students forever. Just as she started to lose hope, a car screeched to a halt beside her. The window rolled down, and a kind- faced woman peered out," Get in honey" , the woman said, " you look like you're in trouble", Luna didn't hesitate, she yanked open the door ans leapt inside, slamming it shut behind her. As the car speed away from the curb,Luna caught a glimpse of the students in the rearview mirror, they were standing in the middle of the road, their eyes fixed on her with an unnerving intensity.

The woman glanced in the rearview mirror,her eyes narrowing," Who were those kids?" She asked , Luna shook her head," I don't know", she admitted " but I think they're connected to some weird stuff that's been going on in my town", the woman turned serious," I think we should get you to the police station," she said, Luna nodded, feeling a sense of relief wash over her. She was safe, for the moment.
