"Alec, stop hiding. Let's get a divorce."
"You want me to walk away with nothing?"
"Why not? Your affair during our marriage is set in stone. Asking you to leave with nothing isn't too much, is it?"
"Serena, can't you give me one more chance? I love you. I swear I'll never make this mistake again. Please forgive me. Let's start over."
"But I don't want to anymore."
"Alec, if you're man enough, come back and sign the papers." I hung up the phone, leaned back in my chair, and let out a long sigh.
Eight years of marriage, ending just like that.
That night, I received a call. Staring at the familiar yet strange number, I hesitated for two seconds before answering.
"I heard you're divorcing Alec? Why so sudden?"
"Alec had an affair with a college girl. I caught him."
"Didn't you already resolve that? Alec has apologized to me too. All men make mistakes like this. I see he's sincere and promises never to do it again. Don't make a mountain out of a molehill."
