The little boy tugged at Evelina's hand, whining incessantly, "Mom, please don't be mad at Dad anymore, pretty please?"

Evelina, irritated by the constant pulling, forcefully yanked her hand away.

Startled, the little boy first took two steps back, then burst into loud, babyish sobs.

"Stop crying!"
