The Seven Days of Creation
Genesis 1
---
Day 1: Let There Be Night
"And the Void said, Let there be hunger—and there was feasting."
- God did not create light.
- He peeled away the first layer of the Dark, revealing something older beneath.
- The division of day and night was not order—it was a truce.
- The sun agreed to rise.
- The shadows agreed to pretend to retreat.
---
Day 2: The Firmament Cracks
"Let there be a vault between the waters."
- The sky is not a dome.
- It is a scab.
- The "waters above" do not rest—they press down , thin and screaming, against the barrier.
- Sometimes, it weeps.
- Sometimes, it breathes in.
---
Day 3: Earth's Dark Harvest
"Let the land produce vegetation."
- The plants obeyed.
- But their roots remembered the taste of living flesh.
- The trees bore fruit—
—but the seeds inside pulsed like hearts.
—but the vines twisted when unobserved.
- The earth was never barren.
- It was waiting.
---
Day 4: Celestial Deception
"Let there be lights to mark the seasons."
- The sun is not a ball of fire.
- It is an eye, lidless and weeping molten gold.
- The moon is not a rock.
- It is a skull, grinning as it cracks in half each month.
- The stars are not distant suns.
- They are hooks, dangling remnants of older worlds.
---
Day 5: The Waters Remember
"Let the waters teem with living creatures."
- The leviathan was not made on this day.
- It woke up.
- The fish did not evolve.
- They wore their skeletons on the outside, smiling with needle teeth.
- The birds?
- Their wings are not wings.
(Looking closer. They were hands, stretched too far.)
---
Day 6: In His Own Image
"Let Us make mankind in Our image."
- The "Us" was a mistake.
- Something answered.
- Adam's face was not the first draft.
- It was the only one that didn't scream when animated.
- The animals saw man and laughed.
- They knew what he was.
- They knew what he would do.
---
Day 7: The Rest That Never Comes
"God blessed the seventh day and made it holy."
- Not because He rested.
- Because something else woke up.
- The silence of that day was not peace.
- It was the sound of held breath.
- The seventh day never ended.
- We are still inside it..
---
The Unwritten Day (The Eighth Day)
"And the Void looked upon all it had unmade, and saw that it was good."
- The world is not finished.
- It is unfolding.
- Every birth is a new stitch.
- Every death is a loosened thread.
- And the scissors are already cold in His hand.
