Chapter 24 Difficult Problem

Berloff Reed waved his hand, smiling warmly. "This has nothing to do with you. That lady was just too arrogant."

Calling the bejeweled Mrs. Moira a "fat lady"?

The salesgirl stifled a laugh and bowed to Berloff again. "Thank you for your understanding, Mr. Berloff."

"So, do you still want this suit?"

Berloff nodded. "Of course, why wouldn't I?"

"Here, use this black card and wrap it up for me!"

Finley bit her lip and stopped the salesgirl from taking Berloff's black card. "Berloff, I promised I'd treat you today to repay you. Let me pay for it."

Berloff's lips curled into a slight smile, and he winked at Finley. "Are you sure? This suit costs eighty-eight thousand dollars. If you pay, you might have to tighten your belt for the next few months!"

Finley wrinkled her nose in distress. "I know, but I owe you a big favor!"

"If it weren't for you scaring off Patrick, I'd be in a real mess right now!"With that, she pulled out her credit card from her wallet, looking determined. "Miss, I'll pay for it. Use this card!"

Seeing Finley's determined expression, Berloff Reed smiled slightly and didn't stop her from paying the bill.

This school beauty had a really good character.

Though she was stunningly beautiful, she wasn't like those pretty girls who only saw rich guys as easy targets.

Even though Finley knew Berloff was a billionaire, she still insisted on treating him.

Just for that, Berloff had a newfound respect for her.

Soon, Berloff was carrying shopping bags while Finley, looking pained, walked out of the Armani flagship store.

"Berloff, now that we've bought the clothes, shouldn't we find a place to eat?" Finley suggested cautiously, still a bit shaken.

"Heh, we only bought one suit. That's not enough. Let's keep shopping," Berloff said with a playful smile, making Finley's face turn pale.

"More... more shopping?" Finley touched her wallet with a conflicted look. "Alright, what else do you want to buy?""I've made up my mind today; I'll make sure you're satisfied!" she said, resigned.

Berloff shook his head with a grin. "Not for me, for you!"

"You bought me such a nice suit, it's only fair that I get you something in return."

After speaking, Berloff Reed took Finley's smooth hand and led her toward the nearby Hermes flagship store.

"Let's go. I'll pay for everything. Pick whatever you like, and don't hold back!"

An hour later, Finley was holding a Hermes bag worth over $40,000, a Chanel dress, a pair of Dior heels, and an LV scarf.Altogether, her outfit was worth over $50,000.

Finley's face was flushed, and she looked nervously at Berloff.

"Berloff, these things are too expensive. I... I feel guilty accepting them."

Berloff waved his hand dismissively, smiling. "As they say, a fine sword for a hero, and beautiful clothes for a beauty."

"With your elegance and figure, these accessories are just right for you."

"Besides, these things are just small change to me."

"In terms of thoughtfulness, they don't compare to the Armani suit you bought me with your credit card."

Finley gave a sweet smile and playfully said, "Now I understand why everyone wants to be friends with a rich guy."

"It's because you get so many perks!"

Berloff threw his head back and laughed, smugly stroking his chin.

"There aren't many young and handsome rich guys like me in the world. Knowing me is indeed a stroke of luck for you!"

Finley playfully scolded, "You're so full of yourself! Can't you be serious for once?"

"Alright, now that we've finished shopping, how about we find a place to eat?"

Snap! Berloff Reed snapped his fingers and took the shopping bags from Finley.

"Let's go. There's a Michelin three-star restaurant at the Global Tower. The food is great. My treat."

After a candlelit dinner, Berloff drove Finley back to her apartment in the white-collar district.

As she got out of the car, she watched the silver Koenigsegg disappear into the distance. Finley's eyes sparkled with excitement, and she subconsciously clenched her fists."A guy this handsome, rich, and considerate is like a dream come true."

"Berloff Reed, just wait. This princess will definitely win you over!"

...

The next morning, Berloff was sleeping soundly when his phone suddenly rang.

"Berloff, what the heck? Why aren't you here yet?"

Still groggy, Berloff answered the call, only to hear his buddy Bruno shouting through the speaker.

"It's early, why are you yelling? Can't you see your daddy is sleeping peacefully?"Berloff wasn't one to take it lying down and immediately snapped back.

"Brother Berloff, Mr. Berloff... It's already 9 AM! How is that early?"

"Today is my cousin's wedding. You didn't forget about lending me the car, did you?" Bruno asked irritably.

With the recycling system making Berloff Reed a super-rich guy, he no longer had to rush to work every morning and could sleep in as long as he wanted.

"Oh, so it's today!" Berloff said, patting his forehead as he lazily struggled to get out of bed."Alright, I'll drive over to pick you up."

Bruno waved his hand dismissively. "No need to pick me up. Just drive straight to my brother-in-law's neighborhood."

"Got it!"

After hanging up, Berloff freshened up, put on his newly bought Armani suit from the day before, and drove his silver Koenigsegg to the address Bruno had sent him.

When he arrived, he saw Bruno and a young man in a red traditional outfit squatting at the doorstep, looking distressed.Next to them were about a dozen young men in suits, who seemed to be the groom's friends.

"Bruno, what's going on? Why the long faces?" Berloff asked curiously as he got out of the car.

"Don't even ask!" Bruno replied with a bitter smile.

"We had borrowed a few Mercedes and BMWs, and with your multi-million-dollar supercar, we thought we had enough to show off."

"But my cousin has a show-off classmate coming over as a bridesmaid today. She bragged that when she got married, her husband's family spent thousands of dollars renting luxury cars like Rolls-Royce and Bentley. It was quite the spectacle."

"When my cousin heard that, she wasn't happy at all. She demanded that her fiancé also get luxury cars of that level to pick her up, or she wouldn't go through with the wedding."

"By the way, this is my future brother-in-law, Quade."

Quade, who looked honest and sincere, stepped forward and shook Berloff Reed's hand. "Brother Berloff, thanks a lot for driving over to help."

Berloff waved his hand dismissively."Bruno is my brother. Helping out is the least I can do."

"Bruno, your cousin is being a bit unreasonable. She should have mentioned this earlier. Now, with only an hour or two left before the wedding, it's really tough to find luxury cars on such short notice."

Bruno scratched the back of his head, looking troubled. "Tell me about it!"

"Even my uncle and aunt tried to talk her out of it, but she's been spoiled since she was a kid and insists on competing with her classmate. There's nothing I can do."

Quade lowered his head, looking dejected. "It's all my fault for not being capable enough, making Chloe look down on me."

Wow!

A man this honest and considerate, always thinking about his wife, is really rare.

Berloff's eyes lit up with an idea. He decided to help Quade out.
