Chapter 38 Cheating

Seeing Berloff Reed's diamond VIP card, manager Dylan's face changed drastically. He hurriedly bowed respectfully to Berloff.

"Mr. Berloff, I'm so sorry! I didn't recognize you earlier. My apologies!"

Berloff smiled and put away the diamond VIP card. "So, can I go in and dine now?"

Manager Dylan wiped the cold sweat from his forehead, nodding repeatedly. "Of course... It would be our honor to have you dine with us."

"You're welcome here anytime, no matter when you come."After saying that, manager Dylan turned to the receptionist beside him, speaking harshly. "What's wrong with you?"

"When a VIP like Mr. Berloff arrives, you should immediately assist him. How dare you keep him waiting outside?"

The receptionist looked aggrieved. "Manager Dylan, Mr. Berloff didn't say anything earlier. It was those two guests who were making a fuss about getting in."

"According to our restaurant's rules, those two guests didn't have a reservation and should have waited in line."

Hearing this, Elton stepped forward arrogantly, glaring at manager Dylan."What are you playing at?"

"Why is it that when I ask for a favor, you ignore me, but when Berloff Reed shows a card, you immediately back down?"

"Tell me, did you take money from this guy and put on a show?"

Manager Dylan frowned and retorted bluntly, "You don't know anything!"

"This Mr. Berloff is holding our most prestigious Diamond VIP Card from Huaye Food Group."

"With this card, Mr. Berloff can dine at any of our hundreds of restaurants, anytime, for free, for life."Boom!

The crowd's eyes widened in shock, and the entire venue buzzed with excitement.

"Oh my gosh! Free meals for life... and never having to wait in line... This card is incredible!"

"Wow, this Mr. Berloff must be someone really important if a billion-dollar company like Huaye Food Group is trying to win him over!"

"Haha... those two clowns, they dared to bet against him, and now they're dumbfounded!"

"Serves them right for being so arrogant. They thought they could show off by siding with foreigners, but now they've hit a brick wall!"

"That woman just said she'd bark like a dog if he could get in to dine directly. Let's see what she does now!"

...

The crowd whispered among themselves, pointing at Elton and Rhea, their faces full of schadenfreude.

Rhea's face turned pale as she stared at Berloff Reed in disbelief.

"Impossible..."

"This guy is just a good-for-nothing pretty boy. How could he have a Diamond VIP Card from Huaye Food Group?"

Elton's face turned beet red, feeling as if Berloff Reed had slapped him repeatedly in front of everyone.

Hearing the murmurs of the crowd, Berloff looked at Rhea with a mocking smile.

"Remember, someone here made a bet with me, swearing they'd bark like a dog if they lost."

"Well, it's time to honor that bet."

Trista, standing nearby, felt immensely satisfied and chimed in sweetly, "Old classmate, everyone here witnessed your bet with Berloff. You wouldn't try to back out, would you?"

Thump, thump, thump...

Rhea trembled, her face pale as she took a few steps back. "You... you guys..."

"Elton! What do we do? Think of something!"

Back in college, Trista and her sister were the campus beauties, always in the spotlight, making Rhea feel overshadowed.

Rhea thought that by finding a wealthy fiancé like Elton, she could finally outshine Trista and vent her past frustrations.

But to her dismay, Trista's seemingly ordinary boyfriend turned out to be a hidden big shot, even possessing a diamond VIP card from Huaye Food Group.

This was a disaster.

Elton gritted his teeth, glaring at Berloff with hatred. "Reed, you win this time, but we'll see about next time!"

With that, Elton grabbed Rhea and fled the scene in a panic, like a dog with its tail between its legs.

The crowd erupted in laughter, pointing at their retreating figures and mocking them relentlessly.

"Ha! Can't even own up to it. What a joke!""Heh, I told you they were just clowns. See? They've shown their true colors now."

"They were so arrogant just now, and now they're running away with their tails between their legs."

"Well, you can't blame them. Mr. Berloff's status is intimidating. A diamond VIP card from Huaye Food Group? Anyone with that must be a big shot."

"Absolutely! All the restaurants under Huaye Food Group are high-end. With that card, he can take any girl out he wants."

...

Under the envious and jealous gazes of the crowd, Trista took Berloff Reed's arm and bypassed the long line at the restaurant entrance, walking straight into the Left Bank Bistro.

Manager Dylan greeted them with a big smile, eagerly leading the way.

As they walked, every waiter they passed bowed respectfully and greeted Berloff, "Good evening, Mr. Berloff! Welcome!"

The grand reception drew curious and envious looks from many guests. Even Trista felt proud, puffing out her chest with pride.

Once seated at their reserved VIP table, Trista's eyes lit up, and she covered her mouth in surprise.

"Wow, this spot is amazing!"

They were seated by a floor-to-ceiling window, offering a perfect view of the nearby park—a prime location.

"Hehe!" Berloff took the menu from Manager Dylan and placed it in front of Trista.

"Take a look and order whatever you like. It's all on the house today, no need to worry about the bill."

Trista stuck out her tongue apologetically. "Brother Berloff, I feel so bad. I was supposed to treat you today."Berloff Reed waved his hand dismissively. "No worries, I have a diamond VIP card from Huaye Food Group. No need to waste money."

"If you want to treat me, just invite me out next time."

Trista threw a flirtatious glance at Berloff. "Alright, I'll listen to Brother Berloff. Next time, I'll treat you to a meal."

Hearing this made Berloff's heart race. This charming little minx, a few more dates and maybe they'd get to know each other more intimately. The thought alone made him excited!

Following manager Dylan's recommendations, they ordered a few signature dishes from the Left Bank Restaurant and enjoyed their meal, chatting and laughing.

After finishing their meal, just as Berloff was about to suggest going to a hotel for afternoon tea, Trista received a call from her sister Jasmine, who needed her for a live streaming session in the afternoon. They couldn't stay any longer.

"Brother Berloff, I have to go now. Remember, I still owe you a meal!"

Before leaving, Trista planted a kiss on Berloff's cheek, giggling as she stepped into the elevator and waved goodbye.Ding!

As the elevator doors closed, Berloff was about to leave when a surprised voice sounded beside him.

"Hey! Berloff Reed? Is that really you?"
