OLIVIA STAFFORD
"Don't be a nuisance"
The guard said in a gruffy tone, pushing me into the luxurious looking carriage and with a loud bang, the door of the carriage was shut.
"Nice"
I murmured, making myself comfortable in the carriage.
whilst admiring the wonderful and Intricate carriage.
The edges were made of gold that had been bent to look like flowers...were they real, i wondered.
Red soft material on the cushion where my butt was placed.
It was so smooth, just like my mother's silk dress.
were all carriages like this?
I wondered.
I might be from an aristocratic and influential family but I was never allowed in the carriage, only Kiera and the other legitimate children were allowed that privellage.
"such bouncy cushions, my butt has never touched one before" I marvelled, squirming around.
"Be still lady, if you don't want the carriage and the horses to tumble to the floor!" A harsh voice said from the outside.
I froze instantly, embrassment washing over me.
my cheeks hot as red pigment dotted it.
A few moments later, the wheels of the carriage whinned, the horses neighed and the carriage began to sway slightly.
My journey had finally started.
.....
"For just five silver Kuros, you can have two peacock!"
"Gold hairpin for sell, 20 gold kuros"
"I have the best shoes here, get one fitting for you with just 10 copper Kuros"
The voices went on and on.
I couldn't see the outside but from the bustling and hustling, I didn't need a soothsayer to tell me that we were already in Ameastrus, the Capital city of continent Drafoy.
I yawned loudly, patting my stomach.
"are they going to give food at the palace?" I asked myself.
I hadn't eaten for some days now and i was already very hungry.
when will this journey end, what sort of fate awaited me.
what would happen to mum.
What if the werewolf king chooses me...
No, Olivia, that's impossible, he would never choose you, No one would ever choose you.
A dry chuckle escaped my lips as I thought of this.
I was very sure that I would be safe, I would probably get rejected immediately I arrive at the palace, then I would get shipped back to my family.
"we are here"
The door of the carriage was suddenly pulled open and a stool was placed on the floor
"You can get down now my lady" The guard who had been previously rude to me was now polite.
I didn't think much about it and got down from the carriage.
my mouth went agape immediately I saw my surroundings.
Different types of luxurious carriages were packed around and different ladies of different species ans calibers.
Elves, dwarves, faes, vampires, witches.
I could see them all.
and they all had one thing in common, they were very stunning and dressed to the nines.
"among all these ladies...you really look like a frog" the guard snickered in a low tone and i ignored him because he was very much right.
All the ladies were invited into the large throne room and i followed suite, feeling lost, like a lamb who had lost her way.
"You look like you don't want to be here" a Voice said, I turned around, startled and wide eyed.
the first thing I saw were large green eyes, then long slender ears, a beautiful face with a tear drop green gem between her brows
An Elf.
"Is it that obvious?" I asked in a low tone and she nodded.
"I am Caelith" she introduced, stretching out her slender hands.
I eyed those hands and knew that they were definitely soft, unlike mine which has many Calluses.
I was ashamed but I still shook her.
"Olivia" I answered plainly
she nodded her head bad held me tightly
"Let's go to the throne room together".
A few minutes later, all of us had arrived in thr throne room.
the ladies were all lined up in rows.
"Look at that Dwarf, so ugly, why did she come in the first place"
I heard a haughty voice.
their was stifled laughter everywhere.
the dwarf who was being spoken about glared at the young lady harshly.
The dwarf wasn't ugly nor was she beautiful and she had the muscular characteristics of dwarves who toiled and mined in the caves all day.
"watch your tongue, leech" the dwarf sneered, what she didn't have in beauty, she had it in guts.
the young lady who had been called the leech burned red in embrassment.
I had heard stories about vampires.
cold blooded creatures who lived in a daze everyday, craving for blood and indulging in sexual pleasure.
"That haughty girl is Princess Ukaria, she's from a clan of fifth blood vampires" Caelith whispered in my ears.
"What's a fifth blood vampire?" I asked, the confusion on my face couldn't be hidden.
Caelith stared at me in disbelief.
then she sighed and answered "Vampire clans are graded on how pure their blood is, the lower the number, the purer the blood and the higher the status" she explained.
"so the fifth bloods have more status than the sixth bloods?" I asked and she nodded, patting my head.
"You are Soo smart Olivia" she praised and I blushed.
just then, everywhere became silent and I knew why after looking at the previously empty throne seat.
The King himself, Rhydian Drafoy was seated lazily on his throne.
when had he gotten there....I wondered
The man wasn't what I was expecting him to be...he was too handsome to be true.
Gold eyes that looked like they were molted, Black hair that almost looked purple, thin pink lips...the list went on and on.
I watched with bated breath as he stood up, his eyes roaming round the room.
When it stopped on me, I felt a chill on my neck, as if a large venomous snake was targeting.
He smiled.
immediately their was an intake of breath among the ladies.
Slowly, King Rhydian walked towards me, his eyes fixated on me.
i lowered my head, scared and panicking.
Once he was close, he bent slowly and
sniffed my neck.
"You smell so satisfying" he whispered.
then he turned towards the well dressed man behind him.
"She shall stay"
