"Did you really call your dog Slippers?" I said smirking as Miss Evans eyes locked with mine finally acknowledging me.

"Weren't you the one that called your cat Potato?" She said raising one of her brows, did I already mention that she looks really sexy doing that?

"Do not compare my precious little Potato to something as Slippers, you must really hate your dog to call it a flip flop." She let out a cute chuckle.

"My niece was the one who named him," she said seating down next to me on the bench.

"And now you're blaming your niece," I joked as I watched her drink from her water bottle, she looked hot, I'm such a creep. "Anyways what are you doing running at 6 am?"

"Something called exercising, waking up early and getting healthy, you know what that is right?"

"Disgusting."

She rolled her eyes. "What are you doing here at 6 am?"

"Oh you know, woke up early to watch the sunrise," I lied, obviously.

"Bullshit," she eyed me. "In those clothes and on the other side of the city? Right."

"You got me," I smirked already expecting my facade to go downhill. "Fine, I just came from a party and was supposed to sleep at Soph's but I wasn't really that sleepy so I came for a walk."

"That's more like you," she said getting up. "I'll go back to running, enjoy your sunrise," she said sarcastically with her signature smirk.

"Let me join you?" I didn't want to let her go just yet, it's at this point that you know you really like someone when you put your laziness aside so you can spend time with them.

She laughed loudly at that. Rude. "Can you keep up?" she asked starting to jog with Slippers.

"You bet!" I ran after them but still not getting any closer.

"Oh my God! You're so slow," she said still laughing.

She was at least 5 meters ahead of me, not even my best was enough and eventually, she was way too far even for my kinky self to see her precious butt in which might I add, looked fabulous in those leggings.

I almost got to my knees and prayed to Aergia, the Greek goddess of laziness when Daniella finally stopped by the fountain in the middle of the park.

"Not fair, I'm wearing jeans," I said panting when I got there, the bitch was still laughing.

"I don't think that was the problem." Her cheeks were flushed from running and laughing, at least she was panting as well, she looked hot, how can she look so hot doing just anything? Do pretty people fart? I bet she looks hot farting too.

"Running is not my thing," I said crossing my arms and walking to the fountain to take a seat.

"Is any sport a thing to you?" She mocked, "and you're already seated, that's impressive."

"Well..." I say smirking. "There is something I'm good at."

She just raised one of her brows at that, I'm guessing she understood where I was going.

"I doubt it," she said simply after some seconds pulling Slippers to start walking again.

"That's really mean." I got up to accompany her, more like follow her around that is. "Where are you going?"

"I don't think you have anything to do with that." She rolled her eyes but I could see a hint of amusement in them.

"Let's get ice cream."

"No," she said simply.

"Why?" I pouted making her roll her eyes again. "No one will see us, who in their right mind would wake up early on a Saturday? What time is it? Almost 7? Trust me there will be no students around until 12 pm." I rambled. "C'mom Daniella." I pleaded.

"What if it isn't about people seeing us, what if is because I don't want to?" she said slowly like I was an idiot walking a little faster. "And I didn't give you permission to use my first name, miss Krause."

"Ugh so cold," I said smirking but inside I was a hurt puppy, at this point I was struggling to keep up with her pace, this woman had long legs. " We are outside of school."

"And?"

"You're not my teacher right now," I whispered getting closer to her bumping our shoulders together, in return I received a light shove from her. "I'll pay." I threw my last card.

"I'd rather pay for my own ice cream, thank you."

Defeated.

"Look," I stopped walking making her turn around to face me. "I know I messed up when you finally decided to trust me but that's not going to happen again, I promise... unless you want it of course," I said smirking making her squint her eyes intimidating me. "Ugh, I mean... I really want to be around you and I know you enjoy my company somehow, to mock me or whatever your sadistic reasons are and I won't do anything to compromise that, I really mean it." I continued when she didn't say anything. "I don't know if you'll ever trust me again but I'll keep on trying."

"Fine."

"What?" I asked in confusion.

"You're paying," she said simply and started walking again.

"Wait, really?" I ran up to her. "My speech worked?" I asked more to myself than to her.

"Shut up or I'll change my mind."

At this point I didn't really care about her sassy remarks, I was way too happy.

"I'll take you to my favourite place to get ice cream, Soph and I go there almost every summer day, I swear they have the best ice cream in town," I said almost skipping.

"I'm new around here so I probably don't know about it, should I take him back?" she asked pointing to Slippers in which I totally forgot about.

"He can come with us, I'll buy you ice cream too Slippers don't worry," I said petting his head.

The ice cream shop is quite near Soph's house which is great because I'll be honest, we wouldn't even go there if it wasn't. I wonder if they really do have the best ice cream or if it tastes better just because we don't have to walk a lot to get it. I'll throw this philosophy in the air.

We went into the deserted shop just like I expected, Slippers stood willingly outside like the good boi he is waiting for us at the outdoor seatings.

"It'll be a big cone with 3 scoops, 1 chocolate and 2 strawberry, oh and sprinkles on top please," I said my usual to the old man behind the counter in which he just nodded. "Also a small cone with sugar-free vanilla ice cream." Can't forget my mate Slippers.

"Medium cone, 2 vanilla scoops," Daniella said without even seeing what options she had.

"So basic," I said crunching my nose. After we got our cones and I paid all of them making my wallet cry, we sat outside. "Here you have it Slippers, just as promised," I said handing down the small cone to the cute dog that ate it all in a single bite. "So..." I started in an attempt to make conversation. "You said you're new around here?"

"I'm from Flagstaff," she said licking her ice cream, damn I never thought I'd be jealous of an ice cream cone in my life.

"So you are from here, what brings you to Phoenix?"

"Work of course." she eyed me carefully. "What brings you to the US?"

"Work as well, my dad's that is. He's a lawyer, I was 13 when we came I guess."

"Wales?"

"England, Bristol." I chuckled. "It is quite near, why though?"

"Your accent is really weird," she said laughing a bit.

"What?" My face instantly went red, weird?

"It's not a bad weird, it's just a different weird," she said still laughing at my face.

"It doesn't make it any better," I said trying to contain the redness of my face.

"Eat your ice cream, it is pouring over your fingers," she said trying to sound stern but failing because she was containing her laughter, I totally forgot about my ice cream, what's up with her making me forget things around me.

"Don't change the subject." I squinted my eyes at her but licked off the ice cream anyway.

"I don't hate it, I actually find it interesting."

"So there are interesting things in me," I said smirking. "Don't roll your eyes." She did it anyway.

"How are you doing in your other classes?" she asked changing the subject.

"Ugh, let's not talk about school," I pleaded.

"Bad I see."

"Not bad, not great, barely passing but passing nonetheless," I said finally finishing off my ice cream. "Who will you be taking to the homecoming dance?"

"I'm a teacher Anna."

"So?"

"I'll be busy taking care of students like you to actually enjoy it." She rolled her eyes for the... Who's counting? "Who will you take?"

"I don't know, alone I guess, it's not a big deal."

"That's sad." She chuckled.

"Come with me?"

"You don't want to be the person that sticks around the teachers, that's even worse than going alone," she said shaking her head in an amused way.

"True but it's you so I don't mind." My phone went off when she opened her mouth to reply, and here I thought I'd be safe without the goddamn school bell, I looked at the screen seeing it was Soph. "Sup?" I said picking up.

"The fuck you mean by 'sup'?! Where is u?" She basically screamed from the other side of the line.

"I came for a walk, why you acting so cray-cray?" I said amusedly.

"Maybe because I woke up drunk and alone! Get your sexy ass in here and take care of me!"

"Ay ay captain." I didn't really want to leave but I had my responsibilities, code #74 of friendship: thou shalt not leave thy drunk friend alone. After hanging up I looked at miss Evans with apologetic eyes. "I have to go."

"It's alright, I must go as well," she said amusedly, indicating she probably could hear all the conversation I had with Soph.

We walked together for a while until we had to part ways, she lived in a different street just a few blocks away from Sophs house.

I was walking and smiling like an idiot, I never thought I'd meet her today, I guess the best days happen when we less expect them, today was clearly a great day and it's not even 9 am yet.
