Xenia took steady steps out of her huge swanky room, she held the lower part of her azure A-line gown as she made her way through the passage of the third floor of the building; where you can only find worthy pack members. Pack members with lesser importance can be found on the second floor, while the Omegas and the accepted wolves who switched packs reside on the last floor of the magnificent building of the Diamond pack.
Omegas passed by her, some with cleaning materials; while some hurrying to deliver a message or going to receive instructions; every one of them stopped and bowed at Xenia, showing their respect. No matter how badly Xenia wanted to wave or smile at them; her mother had taught her not to, she claims that one portrays more power when greetings are ignored.
She helped herself down the shining wooden stairs, and sauntered, trying not to trip and fall. Although she was already used to descending the stairs in much longer dresses, she still had to make sure she watched her every step. Like her mother always tells her. 'You have no choice but to be perfect."
After a short sauntering Xenia arrived at her destination; which was the garden. The extremely beautiful garden, growing flourishing flowers. Xenia's favorite flower was the lotus; she takes care of them and always comes here to check on them to make sure they're healthy. It was the only living thing that didn't have to be rigid before her. Her mother used to have a problem with her taking care of mere flowers, but not anymore; this was the only thing she had ever decided to do her entire life; her parents made the rules in life.
Taking the pruning shear, she trimmed the flower and watered it to her taste; a smile emerged on her features when she was done.
"Xenia," she could hear her name in the garden, the same garden where she could vouch that she was the only living thing present that could speak.
Just as she was taught, she was never the type to act swiftly. Taking her own sweet time, she curiously looked behind her, because the voice had come from behind. Her eyes met with the beaming eyes of Kent: the Beta of Alpha Raphael of the Silver pack. They were usually referred to as the silver wolves, their park is the closest to the glowing stream, which is also known as the healing stream. The streams had abilities to heal injured wolves, and the fact that it was closer to their park they were granted the authority to take control of it. Long story.
"I knew I could find you here," his smile remained unfaded.
At times Xenia wondered if his cheeks didn't hurt with the way he always smiled. He wasn't like this with everyone. Xenia had seen him countless times next to his Alpha and other pack members, his expression stood always aloof. She'd like to think it was because he claimed to like her, that justifies why he smiles before her.
She was about to ask why he was here, but she quickly recalled that her father was hosting a meeting for all Alphas. Since it was a meeting strictly for Alphas, he wasn't allowed in, he had to wait outside.
"How long have you been around?" Xenia finally figured out a befitting response. People consider her as rude because her words are always few.
"Almost an hour; I was caught up in a chat with some other Betas, I got bored and decided to find you. He hadn't moved an inch from the spot where she had met him standing.
"I see," she quietly turned around and continued cutting the lotus.
"I heard you're still yet to find your mate?" He moved closer by just a step.
"Obviously," she kept herself busy with the lotus.
"I heard a selection will be held for your sake?" Xenia found no reason to respond to that, neither did she have a response. "What if you still don't find your mate?"
Xenia paused her actions, while her heart leaped. There was a possibility that would happen, given that her wolf wasn't ready to awaken anytime soon.
"I will," she kept the pruning shear, her words firm but not harsh.
"I find it so hard to smell you," his smile grew wider, making sure his words didn't come out the wrong way.
"My scent?" She turned to him, her expression as calm as the morning due.
"Mhmm" he nodded his head to apprehend his humming.
"That's because I don't want you to," she took a step forward.
"Suppressing your scent?" He asked; trying not to frown, but his smile already faded.
"Yes," she walked past him.
"How will your mate possibly find you?" his eyes moved with her every step as she walked past him. He had the urge to grab her wrist but restrained himself.
"It's possible and you know it," she halted a few steps ahead of him and turned around.
"Yeah, that happens singly when the mate bond is really strong," Kent just had to agree with her.
She smiled at him, bowing slightly. "Guess I'll see you some other time then."
Kent would have loved to continue the conversation, He didn't want to compel her to stay. Seeing that she decided to leave, he let her.
"I'll see you some other time," he smiled and she smiled back; A smile with the potential to unexpectedly captivate individuals. Xenia was extremely beautiful, a beauty that couldn't be comprehended. Her wolf will be just as beautiful, complementing her grace and strength perfectly.
Many just didn't want to admit it, but so many wolves were very much attracted to Xenia, including Kent's Alpha; unfortunately, they found their mate and it wasn't Xenia. Xenia was the daughter of an Alpha of a great pack, she couldn't be a second choice.
Kent watched her take every single step, it was impressive that she walked so confidently; knowing fully well that he was watching her. She was an epitome of perfection that he couldn't just get his eyes off.
Her parents wouldn't appreciate Kent if he were to be her mate; he had already pledged his loyalty to his Alpha and was now presently the Beta of the Silver pack, he couldn't rule the Diamond Park like Alpha Ray desires. But there was no harm in admiring and keeping listening to her awesomely cute voice. He did like Xenia.

Xenia locked herself in her room, she didn't want to be called to bow to Alphas when they were done with the meeting, so she decided to escape by sleeping for the second time today. Her mother was out for some sort of investigation, that's the reason she had the time to sleep so much. She didn't know how many days it would take, but she enjoyed the peace she experienced today.
She took off her extra clothes, like the gloves and some other stuff. She lay on her bed, and shut her eyes, drifting into the dreamland.
Her heart twitched on seeing him. His silk midnight black hair fell freely behind his back like a waterfall. She could see his hair clearly because he had his back to her.
She usually sees him at night; she had seen him only once at noon when she drifted to sleep while reading a book. Now it's happening again.
"Hey," she walked up to him, unable to hide the fact she was thrilled by his presence.
He looked so good, and the way he managed words was out of this world. "You are here" she added when he didn't respond to her 'Hey'
"Obviously," he turned to her. "What a coincidence," he never smiles, nor does he frown, he was one of a kind.
"I don't usually find you in my dreams when I sleep at noon," he was the only person she always struggled to have a conversation with. She has always taught that no one else's opinion matters, but his opinion does matter to her.
"Not everyone is as jobless as you." If that was supposed to be an insult, then he failed; because it didn't sound like one.
"I have a problem," she pouted.
"I can't solve it," he blurted.
"Do you know what my problem is?"
"You have a thousand of them, I can't solve any," he grinned briefly.
"Hey!!" She grimaced, unhappy with his blunt words. "My problem is something really serious on the day of the full moon, an event will be held for me to select my mate."
"And?" He had his head tilted to the side.
"I'll be caught, I don't have a wolf remember," she whispered, leaning forward.
She felt so relaxed around him, she talked a lot when she was with him, not like he would be able to tell her parents or anyone else about it.; Because she thinks he doesn't exist, he only appears in her dreams, making her dream a safe space for her.
"And?" His nonchalant attitude was beginning to irritate Xenia.
"What do you mean 'And?' I'm supposed to be the perfect daughter, now I'm the weakest in my pack. People will talk, they'll mock me; and at the end of the day I won't be able to find a mate, get married, and give the Diamond pack an heir," she ranted non-stop.
"Oh," he raised a brow. "And who said you don't have a wolf?"
"I can't feel it, and Zina the great witch of the pack also said so. She couldn't awaken it because it wasn't there, she couldn't find my wolf. I'm starting to think I'm human or something else," Xenia hasn't been caught ranting like this her whole life, no matter the situation she finds herself.
"I see, so you want my help?" He queried.
"Can you help me?" Xenia's eyes beamed, but she paused. "Wait? How?"
"Just tell me you need my help," Obed spoke breezily.
Xenia was confused about how Obed would help her like he didn't even exist. "Oh did he have supernatural powers to manipulate the minds of all the pack members" she thought mentally.
"But you won't cause any chaos right?" She needed to confirm.
He exhaled deeply and took some steps forward. "Do you need my help, dear friend?"
Xenia watched him hover over her, his height towering over her. He was tall. Although Xenia would be considered too tall for a lady, still Obed was way taller than her.
"If you can help me, then why won't I want your help," she tilted her head back to be able to look him in the eyes.
His eyes were captivating, his beauty was really out of the word. It was understandable to Xenia because he didn't exist. She always admired him and complimented his beauty, not like he could tell anyone she did.
"Just say yes or no!" He walked even closer, his expression still void.
"Yes," she smiled, he didn't smile back at her, but he didn't look away either; He just kept watching her smile.
**
Alpha Obed graced the great hall with his presence, clad in a total black outfit, with the hem of his black pants stuffed into shimmering his boot, the black velvet coat that swept the neat floor he walked made him look glorious. As he moved forward, his black parrot gracefully soared behind him.
The three people in the room rose to their feet and bowed immediately as he entered. They were two men and just a lady. Yuto was his Beta and best friend; then Xander, then one who had pledged his life to protect the Alpha. The only lady was the great witch, Mina. These three were the closest persons to the Alpha and the only ones who he speaks to. The three of them will see to it that Obed becomes the most powerful even if it is to give their lives; that's how dedicated they were to the pack. They'll do anything to get the mountain pack back on their feet.
"How's the Alpha today?" Mina's meek voice flew into the air, as she watched him take a seat.
"Very well," Obed nodded, with a slight smile.
Smiling with such features wasn't good for any lady, even a powerful witch as Mina couldn't resist getting attracted. Obed wasn't only handsome, but he had a lot of potential that his late father or other older Alpha didn't portray. Obed was a blessing to the pack.
"How is it going," Yuto queried.
He had a huge fire scar on the half side of his face. It was a good thing, given that it made people understand the kind of person he is with just a sight. He is a heartless man who kills mercilessly, he isn't just a mountain wolf. He is something more powerful. When he shifts he looks even scarier.
Yuto was strong, he had never fought with the Alpha, thus no one knew who the strongest was amongst them. He had sustained his face injury during the attack from the other pack, back when he was still very little.
"Yuto," Obed huffed, both elbows pit resting on his knees with his back arched. "It's time," as he spoke grimly, the bird flew to perch on his shoulder.
"He has to go, he has to go get his mate," the parrot always threw more light on his words, in case they didn't get it.
The three of them exchanged glances, before returning their eyes to the Alpha. "That's such great news" Xander piped up first.
"I'll begin making the preparations for her arrival," Mina mouthed, her knees bent slightly in respect.
