Asked for a kiss

The bright morning sun shines through Elora's window as her mom opens the curtains "honey wake up it's time for school" she gives her a kiss on the cheek and leaves her room "okay mom" she yawns and sits up on the bed "it's time I make history, boyfriend, I'm coming for you" she quickly gets ready for school and picks up her lunch on the kitchen counter, running as fast as she could to catch up with the school bus, which she did successfully but without her sweaty appearance going unnoticed by the other students. "What? Haven't seen someone sweaty after a bus chase before?" She takes her seat tired and a bit irritated. The History teacher begins his class and as usual Mike and Elora constantly contributing as if it were a debate competition. "At some point I think both of you should remember this is a history class and not the debate club Elora Johnson and Micheal Hall. Even though both of you are...doing well in my class participation, I plead you both behave yourselves. Got it", the teacher continues with his lessons and they both end up in a fierce staring contest.

"Gosh I hate Mike so much for real. Can you believe he almost cost me my good-student image in history class-...are you even listening Jenny? Jenny?!" "Oh you were saying..." She looks at Elora and puts her phone down. "Jenny did you even listen to what I said earlier?" "Sorry El, Steve was texting me earlier" Steve waves her across the hallway with a smile his face "oops gotta bounce girl see ya later" she runs towards Steve and they both disappear through the crowded hallway.

[ Elora's Pov]

I was abandoned by my friends to fend for my single soul alone with both of them spending time with their boyfriends. Maybe getting boyfriends was a bad idea only if I had one. I walked to the library and surfed through the books until I landed on the one on which our assignment was based on. I looked around and spotted an empty seat at corner which looked as lonely as I am right now making it a good spot to settle and do some assignments. I read the question countlessly still not getting any idea from what it meant with loads off stuff in my head. "damn I'm so tired, I really don't get a flip about this and it's Soo not me El..." "Really? This is literally one of the books you could ever understand completely in a glance". I looked up tracing the deep chill masculine voice which sounded like music in my ears with just a sentence, "oh it's you Kyle I'm so — I mean I'm Elora but you can call me El mostly my friends prefer that" I stand up quickly and begin to blurt out those nonsense awkwardly. "Sorry", "oh it's fine actually, I'm Kyle" "yeah I know and the most hottest basketball player in our school team, I'm a big fan" geez did I just say that out loud, I quickly cover my mouth feeling embarrassed. He smiles shortly at me but still had some sort of hypnotizing effect on me "Okay...well I was gonna say you were in my spot when I approached but-..." "Oh I can move if you want" I quickly cut him off and start packing. "Well since I came and met you I'd prefer we share this space if you are okay with it" "really? But I was almost leaving..." "It's fine. And Besides I think you need help with your work too." He smiles and takes a seat reaching out for my book. I stood there staring at him admiring his charming looks, his tanned skin and chiseled jaws, pointed nose and a dark brown long lash, his shortcut curled blonde toned hair and also the fact that he's kind of like a book worm which was the last thing I'd expected from someone like him. Gosh I'm crushing hard on this Senior..."well you can sit I don't need a bodyguard or something" he says jokingly with a little smirk on his lips which kinda made me feel embarrassed. I took my seat across his and he begins to summerize the whole book in a few minutes. Even though I was listening to his words, I couldn't take my eyes off him and the fact that his words come out like some sort of music that soothed my heart, he really is an angel- "so do you get it now Elora" he snaps me out of my fantasy " yeah what, yeah I do a lot. Thanks so much Kyle and for keeping my name in your head" "you must be really funny Elora but this is not the time to play around okay. Let's finish this" "together" I added to his words which made him laugh a bit and continued with his tutoring. Later on, we both end our tutoring session and I thank him for helping me with my assignment. He requested he walked me for a while which I don't hesitate to accept his offer. "How was your day Elora" I glance at him on my side as we walk and appreciated the fact that he was the only one who asked about how her day went, for now. "Lonely. My friends abandoned me for their boyfriends actually, even though we had plans for today" "Sorry about that. But that doesn't mean they've abandoned you tho" he speaks in his chill deep voice which calmed me down with his words. "I don't things to be like this, me being alone forever and I don't want to be the one pulling my friends back you know. I sometimes feel like I'm ugly or something or invisible" I stop in my tracks and look down. Kyle turns and faces me, tilting my head up with his warm hands till our eyes met, "you are honestly one of the most prettiest girl I've ever met Elora, always remember that" "Then kiss me if you really mean it". At that moment I didn't know what had gotten into me but I knew I was perfectly sane. He stared at me with a bit of surprise in his eyes which made me doubt he would ever do such a thing and thought I had scared him away after our real encounter earlier. But suddenly, he closes the space between us as his lips lands on mine and for the first time I get to know how it's like to be kissed, yes, this was my first kiss with Kyle Williams, the school's hottest popular basketball player.
