Adelheid, disgusted, stood before the doorstep of an ugly and corrupt lord. An abomination so reviled, the entire empire recoiled with disgust at the mention of his name.



From her left, a voice cleared their throat.



"Milady, the Archduke, your now rightfully wedded husband, will return by noon for your bedding ceremony. He had.. pressing matters."



Adelheid frowned deeply at the butler. "Rightfully wedded husband?"



She shook her head, tightening her brows further, before raising a finger, on it a large diamond ring glistered.



"Is that why I was brought here? You must be deeply mistaken. I am married to the King. Not that malformed war-gremlin."
