After washing and bathing, she took me into a room. "What would you do without clothes now?" she asked.
I opened the door, and I was fully clothed, my leather robe coat and everything as if nothing was taken from me.
"Wanna eat?"
Her eyes filled with fascination as she nodded.
We all sat down in the empty hall as other children also joined, and they cleaned the table.
"Now, as I promised, I have brought food for you all, but close your eyes. Whoever opens their eyes before I say will not get anything and only watch others eat."
The children quickly tightly closed their eyes with their hands too. But that girl giggled and tried to sneak, as I knew she would.
So I waved my hand, a hot plate of stew came out of nowhere, and I placed the bowl in front of the first kid.
I did the same with everyone until I reached that girl.
"You all can open your eyes now."
Loud gasps and cheers of happiness looking at the hot bowls of stew.
"What about her?" one of them asked.
"She peeked, so she would not get any."
Everyone laughed.
"Don't worry, you can take half of mine," a boy offered, clearly trying to impress her.
"I don't like you, I like Big Brother!" she hmphed.
Everyone laughed out loud, and the boy's face went down.
"You are very cruel for a little girl."
With laughter and all, they ate until completely full, and sleep took them over.
As everyone was sleeping, I brought a stew bowl to her.
"I have to go now."
She nodded.
"I might not return again, at all, but thanks for everything."
She nodded again cheerfully.
I gave her the bowl and stood up. "Stay safe…keep them safe."
She didn't say much as she started chowing down the stew.
I left without looking back and wandered the market. I wanted to do some more transactions, but it seems money is a big problem for me, so I waited for the evening.
At evening, I returned to the tent, the slave trading one.
"You have some nerve to return after you used me," the Overseer menacingly approached me.
I ignored him as I looked at the slaves in the cages.
"I am here, as I said, as we agreed."
A blade was again on my neck as I turned to face the Overseer.
"I have asked around and heard whispers that even the Imperial Army is looking for you, you have scammed them too."
"Did I?"
"Don't you try to play with me. You are not your father!"
"I did say that last night, I am not my father. Do you think my father would have returned?"
"What are you trying to prove here?"
"Nothing, I am here to honor my words, our agreement," as I shook my hand, and the vial of succubus tears was between my fingers.
The cat creature on my shoulder holding the knife immediately snatched it from me and jumped away and carefully gave it to the Overseer.
"This is just one vial…" He looked at the vial again. "And it's my vial. You have returned my vial back to me, how is this honoring your word and agreement? You boasted about paying your father's debt too."
"Can I get relaxed for a moment? Put my hands down?"
The Overseer stayed silent.
"Your archers are making me nervous."
The Overseer finally gestured, and several shadows around us relaxed.
"Now give me a box."
"What?"
"A box, your vial box."
"YOU!"
"Oh come on! It's empty anyway, just…just give it to me instead of getting offended on my every sentence."
The Overseer clenched his fist again. He is wondering why he is tolerating me this far, but he pulled out the box from his robe sleeve pocket and threw it at me.
"To not raise any suspicion…" I took the box and opened it and put my right hand in my chest pocket in my leather robe.
The Overseer's eyes got big as I pulled out a vial and placed it in the box.
"...so I had to carry it like that…this is not cheap or easy to come by…" I continued my casual chatter.
"Where?..." The Overseer didn't know what to say, but his eyes kept getting bigger and bigger, and his jaw kept dropping lower and lower as I filled the box one by one with 20 vials.
I closed the box and gave it to him.
The Overseer was not sure if he should take it or not, but with confusion and shock, he took it.
He opened the box and confirmed that they were all real or not.
"Are you going to check each vial now?" I mocked.
"And what if I want to?"
"Fine…"
He pulled one vial out, took a sniff, and shook it, and there was nothing he found wrong with it.
He did the same with the rest of them one by one and then looked up at Dane.
"What? Anything wrong with them?"
"Yes…how did you get this?"
"What?" I acted offended. "How do you get your items?"
"How dare you?" the Overseer snapped.
"Then shut up about how did I get this?" I fired back.
"You! My items do not have a trail…and you. You have a long trail."
"So what? Do you want to give up on it?" I extended my arm for him to give my vials back.
He was in great internal struggle, and I snatched the box from his hands and quickly stuffed it in my inner chest pocket.
I snorted and turned to walk away.
"Wait!" the Overseer called out. "What about the debt you said you will pay off?"
"Am I not paying it off? It's you who is getting wet between legs to accept my payment." I didn't wait for an answer and reached for the exit when two large half-beasts stopped me.
"The army is looking for you, you haven't delivered them anything, you are a liability, it feels like you are scamming me by giving me all these vials."
