Chapter 3

"Why do you get to have someone as amazing as Nolan for a husband, while I have no one!"

Jolene shook Nolan frantically. Suddenly remembering the antidote Nolan had given her, she quickly forced it down his throat.

I hadn't expected they had this trick up their sleeve.

As Nolan slowly regained consciousness, Jolene, now feeling backed up, instantly lost her panic. She cried in his arms with tears streaming down her face.

"Nolan, Scarlett hit me. She called me a slut for seducing you."

Nolan's anger shot straight to his head. He yanked me out of the driver's seat with one swift motion.

"Scarlett, you bitch, you really never learn, do you? You bullied Jolene in college, gave her depression, made her miss out on her dreams. And now you have the audacity to bully her right in front of me!"

With that, he delivered a resounding slap across my face.

I cupped my swollen cheek, looking at him with a dead heart.

Jolene hid behind him, flashing me a smirk.

She mouthed the words: "He loves me."

I let out a bitter laugh, glancing at the ring on my finger, feeling nothing but irony.

"You're willing to believe her side of the story without even asking me if it's true or not. We've been married for years - don't you know what kind of person I am?He glanced at me impatiently: "You're just too good at pretending. Marrying a wife like you has been nothing but bad luck."

I thought back to when Nolan and I first got married.

He treated me well, cooked for me every day, told me he loved me. We went to and from work together, inseparable.

But ever since Jolene came along, he became a different person.

I respected him and gave him his privacy, never imagining he was actually having an affair with Jolene.

I smiled wryly. "So who's the one who's changed - you or me?"

Nolan looked at me coldly as he pulled Jolene into his arms.

"I'll say this one last time - Jolene used to bully me in college. I never bullied her!"

"What nonsense are you spouting? How could a sweet girl like Jolene ever do something like that? Now you're just trying to twist the facts!"

Jolene immediately burst into tears, clutching Nolan's sleeve.

"Scarlett, you can say whatever you want about me, but don't accuse me of bullying. That's a moral issue. I wouldn't even dare step on an ant - how could I ever bully someone?"

Nolan stroked Jolene's waist as he shoved me roughly.

"If I'd met Jolene earlier, I never would have married someone like you!"Seemingly unsatisfied, he suddenly slapped me again.

"I want to see if you still dare to bully people recklessly."

At this moment, passengers heard the commotion and immediately stood up to look.

"Oh no! The captain is hitting the co-pilot!"

Hearing this, everyone turned to look into the cockpit.

"How dare you hit the captain? Are you trying to kill us all?"

A tall, burly man came out and punched Nolan.

"You beast, are you even a man?"

I was pulled up.

Seeing that the cabin's attention was now focused on him, Nolan flashed a sinister smile. He tugged at the microphone and spoke like a devil.

"Today, you're all going to die! Might as well tell you, this is a death flight, and you're all going down with her!"
