Chapter 1: A new life with new beginnings

There was a 6 year old girl sleeping on the grass and suddenly sat up, remembering her memories from her past life.

???:"There's tears in my eyes... I better wipe it off!".

???:"My name was yoo jaehyun 26 Year-old I was a office worker in my past life.I was in a car accident while I was going to my brother's wedding...I never thought I'd be reincarnated in another world...First I need to remember who I am right now in this world...!!".

She said after recovering her memories.

My name is Lena Dunham I'm 6-year's-old. I'm the daughter of a baron family with two older siblings and one unborn sibling .

We live in the countryside in the western continent. Back then my father who was a son of a baron was just wandering alone in the village at night. 

He saw my mother who was almost harass by thugs then, beaten them up and walk towards my mother to ask if she was ok. My mother nodded and also thanked him. 

My father smiled at her and when he was about to leave... my father collapse due to the stab he got from one of the thug's. My mother took him to her home and nurse him.

When he woke up my mother immediately apologize to him but my father said "it's fine"and when he was about to leave he was stopped by my mother. 

She said "you're still recovering! Stay here and rest until you're fully healed!!!"my father tried to persuade my mother to let him leave but my mother refuse. 

The two of them ended up live together and eventually fall in love. My grandparent's who was worried for my father sent a search party for him and finally found him.

The two of them we're interrogated by my Father's parents when they heard their story they were shock and exasperated but was happy for them.

They thanked my mother for saving him which made her embarrassed and said" I'm just repaying the favor that's all". 

My grandparents wanted to reward her somehow, so they decided to take her as their daughter-in-law my father quickly accepted it. My mother was surprised by this but didn't voice her refusal because my father said "I'll never want to marry anyone other than her to be my wife". 

After that they eventually got married, of course there some nobles ridicule them for a noble marrying a commoner... it's natural for them to be ridiculed. But nevertheless they were happy and give birth to beautiful children.

Now back to the present

Lena:''I'm better go back now the sun is setting. My parents must be worried about me..."

When she return home, a pregnant woman was running towards her.

???:"LENA!!!"

Lena:"MOTHER!?"

She stopped with her hands on her hips in defiance.

???:"Where have you been? Did you see the sun was setting!!!"

Lena:"I'm sorry...I was just gazing at the sky and... I ended up falling asleep"

Unbeknownst to them someone approached them followed by two older children

???:"Now, now, Amelia~ there's no need to be so uptight".

The man said trying to ease up the atmosphere.

???:"And please don't run your still pregnant with our baby''.

The man said in a concern tone.

???:"Fine... but Lena if you ever do this again!! I'll send you an escort!".

The pregnant woman said sternly towards her.

Lena:''Yes, ma'am!"

The woman who was scolding her just now was her mother 'Amelia Dunham' she has black hair and black eyes, she's a beautiful woman but she is a bit strict yet gentle at heart.

???:"Lena let's go it's almost night".

The man said to her

Lena:"Yes father!".

She immediately walk alongside with the older children.

The man who calmly stopped Amelia from scolding her is Lena's father James Dunham, he has brown hair and pink eyes.

He's a handsome man which made many noblewoman head over heels for him but he gave them a cold-shoulder towards the girls who only came up to him for his status and wealth while kindly rejects to girls who truly have feeling for him, since he can't reciprocate .

That is until he met Amelia, he's actually an loyal and hardworking man. He's also a landlord, he always works in his office and goes on business trips. For that James didn't spend much with his children but he always makes up for it by giving them gifts and tells them bedtime stories whenever he has the time

???:"Geez...Lena you really need to be careful mother was really worried about you and she almost throw a fit!''.

The older girl said

Lena:"Sorry..."

She said while looking down in shame.

Lena's older sister Louisette Dunham but, they also called her Louise for short. She is 4- years-older than her. She inherited her father's hair and her mother's eyes.

Her Sister is hardworking like their father and also strict like her mother. She loves playing the piano she's even has a talent for it.

Her father even bought a tutor for her. She always spends her free time playing the piano, It became a hobby for her and she have a good sibling relationship with Lena.

???:"I'll say...you really need to be more careful Lena someone might kidnapped you while you're asleep".

the older boy said

Lena:"I won't, I won't...!"

She said as she made a gesture of defeat

This is Lena's older brother Paul Dunham he's 2 years older than her. He inherited his mother's traits, he looks like a boy version of his mother.

He's a bit more calm and quite smart in his age, the complete opposite of his mother. He's blunt but he kept silent towards people who had a higher status than him. He's also quite into politics even dreaming into becoming a politician one day.

Lena" Kidnapped? Why would someone kidnapped a useless girl like me? Who can't even use magic?"

Yes. It's a world where magic exist. Lena was born without any magic, therefore some nobles ridicule her family. Due to her inability to use magic, but her parents comfort her saying that.

Amelia:"Don't listen to them!! Their just saying those things like that to make us look miserable!"

James:"Right, their just saying nonsense even though you can't use magic... I can teach you martial arts instead! That way you can defend yourself against these bastards!!".

Even though her father is a busy man. He always makes a schedule for her, when teaching her martial arts even when he's too busy.

Her father always sends tutor's for her that way she won't be left behind by her siblings, but Lena still think she's lacking. She sometimes go outside to get some fresh air. It became a habit for her and that's when she recovered her memories of her past life.

Louise:"Your still a noble after all... and your not useless, don't pay attention to those hooligans. There just badmouthing us, because our mother was a commoner and then became a noble after marrying father so immature*sigh*"

Lena:"Yeah...."

She look down and began ponder in her thoughts

Lena:(She's right...why should I care about what people say about me?)

Paul:"Ah... right! Louise, are you going to the royal academy in 6-years right?".

Louise:"Yes, that's right...So?" .

She tilt her head in confusion

Paul:"What are going to do at the academy? Just playing the piano?"

He said bluntly to her, which the latter didn't seemed to mind. Since they live their whole life being with each other together as siblings.

Louise:"Yeah, not just that. I'm going to study magic and also hunting some monsters!! You can't called it a academy if they didn't give us something to learn...".

She said with a broad smile on her face

Paul:"Good point".

He said and nodded

They gone back to their mansion and went to their respective rooms to rest.

Lena sighed as she lay down on her bed and thought.

Lena:(The royal academy huh... Now that I think about it, the royal academy teaches all sorts of things like magic, martial arts, and conquering dungeons. Their are many things to learn *sigh*It would be great if jaek was here as well, I wonder how he's doing?)

While thinking about her brother in her past life, she heard a knock from her door.

???:"Lady Lena~ dinner is ready! Please come downstairs everyone is waiting for you".

The maid said to her outside of her room.

Lena:"Coming!!!"

She stood up from her bed and rushed to open the door

Lena"Please lead the way"

???:"Yes my lady".

The maid obeyed and started walking downstairs while Lena followed her

This is their head maid Sophie she's married and has 2 children. Her husband was a gambler he died due to lung cancer and he has a lot of depth's.

Due to that, she was working overnight to pay off her husband's depth's until she met her parents. While they were strolling through the village.

They saw her collapse due to stress, they nurse her and ask her what happened. When they heard her story they took pity on her and decided to hire her as a maid to pay off all her husband depth's.

Even when she's already paid off her husband's depth's she still working as a maid of their mansion her parents bemusedly asked her "why are you still working as a maid? You can go live your own life now that you paid off your husband's depth's"

She replied"because you guys save me and I wanted repay you somehow...that's why I'll work as a maid and become a nanny for your future children "they were touched so they decided to let her stay and they became close friends.

When they arrive at the dining room they were greeted by her father.

Lena:"Hello Lena and Sophie thank you for bringing Lena here".

Sophie:"It was nothing I'm just doing my job".

She said with a warm smile and left.

Amelia"Lena please sit down and eat"(Sternly)

Louise:''Come on...sit! The food is about to get cold!!"

Paul:"That's right!".

Lena immediately sit down and eat

Amelia:"Darling~how's work? Did his majesty like the idea of our products?"(Soft tone)

James:"Yeah...I was thinking of signing a contract with the dran family".

Amelia/Louise/Paul:"THE DRAN FAMILY!?"

Everyone exclaimed except for Lena

Lena:(Dran...Why did it felt so familiar...? Have I heard it before?)

She thought while eating her food

Amelia:"The Dran family!!!Why did they want to sign a contract with us?!"

She said in disbelief

James:"I was surprised as well they said that they wanted sign a contract with us because they wanted our products.In exchanged they will promote our sells and send us more ingredients for us to make more medicine".

He said looking quite happy

Their family sells medicine. Her father is a merchant and her mother is a pharmacist even though, she's became a baroness she loves making medicine. She pretty much has a talent for it and she also makes beauty products.

Louise:''Father, that's amazing!"

Paul:"Yeah! How did you react when they want to sign a contract with us!?".

James:"I just calmly ask why they wanted our products and after hearing there reason they said "Theirs no need to rush and please think about it" And left...".

The 3 of them look at him with amazement, the one who snap out of their daze was Lena.

Lena:"Father...can you tell me about the Dran family?"

Everyone look at her.

James:"Ah... yes?We haven't told you about them..."

James:(Strange... she usually so quiet at dinners)

He thought as he clears his throat

James:"The dran family are a family with greater status than us and also their head is the emperor's sworn brother. They've been best friends ever since they're in the royal academy. Both of them have been through so many wars together and bring peace towards our nation. They even vow that their children will become sworn brother's or sister's and even become engaged! That's when duke dran made his second son engaged with the crown princess of our kingdom!!!"

He explain in amazement.

Lena:"Hmmm, so what's their names?"

James:"Pardon?"

Lena:"His second son and the crown princess. What's their names?".

James"Oh...! Their names are Edmund dran and princess Rosalie Avila Beltran".

He said as he look at his daughter who became frozen in place.

Lena:"W-WHAT!?".

She slammed the table and shouted. Making everyone surprised by her action.

Lena:"EDMUND DRAN AND ROSALIE AVILA BELTRAN!!!".

She shouted with her eyes wide at the information.

Amelia:"Lena...please sit down".

She said in a stern tone

Lena"Ah... right".

She immediately sit down

Lena:(No way this is... Edmund Dran and Rosalie Avila Beltran! Those are the characters of that RPG game that I played with my brother in my past life!!!)

James:"Lena are you ok? You look pale... Do you perhaps know Edmund Dran and princess Rosalie?".

Lena:"Oh no...! I don't really know them. I'm just surprised about the engagement between the second son of the Dran family and the crown princess of our kingdom that's all...!"

She said trying to sound normal as possible. Her father felt suspicious of her but shrug it off

James:"Yes it's surprising in fact this engagement was made as a token of friendship between the two families"

After dinner all of them went to their rooms except James to rest. While Lena was pondering about what her father said at dinner.

(No way! Did I reincarnated in the world of that RPG game!?)

She thought as she slumped on her bed.

(Edmund Dran he's the villain in that RPG game! He's the hot-headed villain who uses dark magic and Rosalie Beltran she's the heroine and one of the hero's love interest's in the game!)

She thought while turning back and forth in her bed.

(This is definitely the world of that RPG game! "light in elements" that's the name of the game. The story is that the hero was a commoner and became a student of the royal academy because of his capability of using light magic.)

(Light magic and dark magic users are very rare unlike other any other elements like wind, fire, water, ice, earth, lightning and nature there are many users of one these elements. Unlike these two elements they are very rare and unique, not many knows about there their uses. 

So the two learn themselves on how to make use of them. The only things they know about light magic was that it has healing magic while dark magic has regeneration power. Nonetheless, all elements are powerful in their own way and It depends how you make use of them.)

Lena:''Wait!"

She ran out of her room and slammed the door at her father's office.

Lena"FATHER!!!"

Her father almost jump out in surprised by the noise

James"Lena? What are doing shouting in the middle of the night? And don't slam the door! You'll break it!!".

Her father scolded her

Lena:"I'm sorry...father it's about Edmund dran how is old he?"

James:"What?"

Lena:"How old is Edmund dran?"

James:"He's about the same age as you...why you ask?".

Lena:"Oh nothing...I just was curious...please continue you work good night!!!"

She said as she slowly closed the door

Her father was completely suspicious of her behavior but shrug it off saying "girls are so mysterious"and continue signing off his papers.

Lena went back to her room as she lays down in bed

(I'm going to the royal academy in 10 years! That means the story of this RPG game will begin in 10 years!!!)

She buried herself into her pillow in despair

(Wait! Theirs no character named Lena Dunham in the game, that means... I'm a NPC! As long as I don't get involved in the plot, I'll be fine! I'll just watched from the side lines and make sure no one ruins the games storyline!!)

She sits up on her bed, grinning as she realizes that she was an NPC.

"I'm just worried for nothing"

She stood up from her and walks towards her desk then opens her drawer and grabs her notebook to write down the story of the plot.

"That way I won't carelessly get involved of the story and, since it's written in Korean no one will be able to understand it"

She said and went back to her bed.

"I'm going sleep. Today was a long day... I'm just hope that there won't be any incident's that will ruin the games storyline"

Unbeknownst to her, thing's didn't go as she wished. When she steps into the academy... We'll find out soon in a few chapters.
