I looked towards the voice and saw a man already walking towards the dining area. I observed as he took a seat not far from the cold guy who he addressed as Dom. "Michael…I'm Michael" he introduced himself with a smile. I nodded in return before replying "I'm Olivana", my attention back to the dishes set across the long spherical table, how extravagant!
"So what got you acquainted with Dom? That's not something we get to see every day Yunno" Michael said as he chuckled.
"Ohh I consider him my savior," I said in a light-hearted tone, as I stared trying to grasp a reaction from him, Not even sparing me a glance as he took a sip of his water.
"Savior? He helped you!?" Michael asked, surprise evident in his voice.
"I managed to help myself," I replied matter-of-factly. I then leaned toward the beautifully arranged chicken at the edge of the table, and after some contemplation, I decided to serve myself the whole plate and began to savor it.
"Woah!," Michael exclaimed. I raised my head to see even Dom staring at me. They probably thought I was a glutton.
"What? Never seen a chicken lover before?" I sneered.
"Of course not, but are you sure you can handle that?" he asked, clearly concerned that I was going to finish the whole plate. Well, yes, I could; I just had this insatiable hunger for meat. But I couldn't obviously admit that, so I gave a neutral answer.
"Who knows?".
Suddenly my phone rang so I excused myself to pick it up.
Seeing it was Gwen calling, I answered.
"What's up, lover girl?" I teased, already imagining her face heating up, knowing how sensitive she is.
"Baby! How are you?!" Gwen screamed through the phone, and I could tell she was tipsy, if not drunk.
"Are you out drinking with Aaron?" I asked, fully aware that she doesn't usually drink anywhere except with me or Aaron.
"Well, yeah, that's why I called. Aaron and I went out to have fun, and now we're both drunk. Since we can't drive back in this state, we decided to stay here for the night," she explained, her words slightly slurred.
"I'm sorry, Liv. Leaving you alone isn't what we planned, and—"
"Babe, what keys are these?" Aaron's hoarse voice interrupted Gwen's soft one.
"Oh my gosh!!" Gwen's scream caught me off guard, causing me to pull the phone away from my ear.
"Liv, I'm so sorry… I might have taken the house keys with me. Give us an hour, and we'll come back!" Gwen's remorseful voice went from tipsy to completely sober as she frantically suggested this.
"That's a bummer! But relax Gwen. Don't worry about me, I can just sleep in a hotel for the night. You should enjoy your time with Aaron" I said trying to ease off her guilt
"But Liv— I"
"Seriously Gwen, Enjoy your time and stop worrying about me. I can take care of myself" I said stopping her from voicing her worries
"Okay then…call me if anything pops up!" She agreed her voice still tinged with worry.
"Yes, I will, now goodnight and have fun!!" I said before tactfully ending the call.
I went back to the dining area in small unhurried steps.
"Mr. Dom, Mr. Michael… can I sleep here for the night?" I asked directly, and what I received next was Dom's indescribable look with Michael choking on his water. Silence ensued.
"So can I?" I urged one more time
"One of you should prepare a room for her" I finally heard Dom order the maids, heaving a sigh of relief inwardly before letting out a bright smile.
"Indeed you're my savior," I said trying to butter him up.
Ignoring my praise he stood up directly and went upstairs.
"You're an interesting one, aren't you?" Michael said out of the blue before he leisurely strode out of the house "Tell Dominique I'll be back tomorrow" I heard him say to a maid as she respectfully gave a bow.
I whipped out my phone and kept myself busy for a while until a maid came to take me to my assigned room.
"Everything you need is here ma'am," she said as she pushed open the door for me "And if you need anything, feel free to let us know" she added with a slight bow leaving me in awe.
The walls were painted a soft, calming gray, and the floor was covered in a plush, charcoal-colored carpet. A large window overlooks the municipality framing a breathtaking panorama of twinkling lights. A king-sized bed with crisp white linens takes center stage, flanked by sleek nightstands and minimalist lamps. The air is infused with the subtle scent of lavender and sandalwood. The room's monotonous color signified deliberate restraint, not exactly austerity but more of a quiet confidence in the power of simplicity, reminding me of Dominique.
I quickly freshened up and prepared to rest early but then on second thought, I decided to look for Dom. I came out of my room and walked down the hallways which were illuminated by candlelight. I figured he might be in the room the maid addressed as his study earlier.
As I pushed open the door without knocking, I walked gently trying not to make a sound.
"Are you that desperate?" I heard a low husky voice behind me and saw Him stepping out of a room, presumably the bathroom, steam escaping.
"What do—" the remaining words stuck in my throat as I caught sight of the topless man standing right in front of him. His tousled hair dripped water, which trickled down his neck and onto his chiseled chest before finally traveling down, his trousers absorbing it. How lucky was that drop of water I thought.
"You look like a hungry fox," he said as he dried his hair with a towel, his Adam's apple bobbing up and down.
I stared at his alluring physique—tall, slender, and muscular—exactly my type. With a surge of confidence, I walked forward, tiptoed, and landed a kiss on his lips. They were cold to the touch, a stark contrast to mine. He didn't push me away, but he didn't reciprocate either, which quickly brought me back to my senses. Embarrassed, I detached my lips from his and turned to escape, too ashamed to face him.
"Stop right there!" he demanded, but I ignored him. My face, ears, and neck were already flushed red, a clear sign of my embarrassment. Just as I was about to escape from my plight, I heard a groan followed by a thud. I turned back and saw Dominique collapsed on the floor.
