The Counsel's Intention

Kael walked into the grand hall of the Celestial Temple, his heart pounding in his chest. He had never been summoned before the Celestial Council before, and he had no idea what to expect.

The hall was dimly lit, with only a few candles illuminating the ornate frescoes that adorned the walls. At the far end of the hall, Kael saw a semicircle of throne-like chairs, upon which sat the members of the Celestial Council.

Kael recognized some of the members, including the powerful mage, Lyra Astraea, and the enigmatic seer, Kaida Vex. But there were others he didn't recognize, their faces hidden behind masks of silver and gold.

"Kael Orion, you have been summoned before us today to discuss a matter of great importance," declared Lyra Astraea, her voice like music. "We have reason to believe that you possess knowledge of the Eclipse Core, a powerful artifact rumored to hold the key to unlocking the secrets of magic."

Kael's heart skipped a beat as he gazed upon the council. He had suspected that they knew about his research, but he had no idea they were so interested.

"I know nothing about the Eclipse Core," Kael lied, trying to sound convincing. "I'm just a humble mage, trying to make a name for myself in the world."

Lyra Astraea's gaze seemed to bore into his soul. "We have evidence that suggests otherwise, Kael. Evidence that points to your involvement in the Core's disappearance."

Kael's mind raced as he tried to think of a response. He knew that he had to be careful, that the council would stop at nothing to get what they wanted.

"I swear, I know nothing about the Eclipse Core," he repeated, trying to sound as sincere as possible.

The council members exchanged skeptical glances. Kaida Vex, the seer, spoke up, her voice like a gentle breeze. "Kael, we will be watching you. If we discover that you are hiding something from us, there will be consequences."

Kael felt a shiver run down his spine as he realized the gravity of the situation. He knew that he had to be careful, that the council would stop at nothing to achieve their goals
