Maximus's mother went silent.
She looked down at him his face tilted up at her, eyes confused but patient, waiting for something he couldn't name.
She took a long breath.
It trembled as it passed her lips, like it hurt to release.
Her gaze turned to the Headmaster, her expression unreadable torn between fear and love, between what had been and what might come.
"…Alright," she said at last, her voice quieter than a whisper.
"He'll go."
Maximus blinked in surprise.
But before he could speak, she raised a hand not to stop him, but to steady herself.
"I have one request," she said, her tone sharper now. Clear. Steeled.
Magnus inclined his head slightly, curious. "Oh? And what might that be?"
She met his gaze, and for the first time, her eyes held no fear only pleading.
"Don't let anyone… discriminate against him."
Magnus's brows lifted gently.
"Because of his eyes," she added.
Her voice cracked just slightly as she continued, "He's already suffered enough. Those cursed colors of his… they kept the whole village at a distance. No one wanted to come near. Even as a child."
She swallowed hard, glancing away.
"There's a reason we live outside the village, Headmaster."
Magnus was silent. But his face softened.
He looked at Maximus, then back to her.
"I understand," he said simply. "And I give you my word he will not be shunned in my halls. No student under my name will face such treatment. That, I promise you."
"…Wait, what?" Max finally blurted, frowning.
"Why is everyone making choices for me? I didn't even say I wanted to go!"
He turned to his mother, confused. "I mean… aren't we moving a little fast? You guys show up out of nowhere, say something about cursed bloodlines, call me a traitor's kid, and now suddenly I'm being invited to some magic school?"
He shook his head. "I don't even know what this place is. And… and I'd have to leave you alone."
His voice dropped at that last part.
She didn't say anything.
Only smiled. Sad, proud, quiet.
Maximus looked away.
"I just don't get it…" he murmured.
Magnus stepped forward, his voice kind.
"Then allow me to explain everything. Properly."
Here's your revised scene cleaned up, made more vivid, emotionally layered, and flowing smoothly without losing the original heart or humor. It still keeps your style intact, just sharper and richer:
1 hour and 36 minutes later…
Maximus stood on a floating carpet carved with ancient runes that shimmered like ripples on moonlit water.
To his left stood Julius. On his right, the ever-stoic Headmaster Fledrock, leaning lightly on his cane.
Max's hands were clenched not with anger, but with a sorrow too big for his frame.
One eye was sea-glass blue. The other, a silent crimson. Both shimmered with unshed tears as the hut behind them grew smaller, fading with every breath.
The hut.
The woods.
The snow-laced rooftop.
Yeah… Fledrock had repaired the whole place like new. Called it a gift. No explanation. No price.
Her.
She stood at the fence, arms crossed over it, smiling through her tears.
Waving.
She always smiled for him. Even when it broke her inside out.
Max didn't wave back.
Then she cupped her hands into a megaphone and shouted, voice cracking but strong:
"Go on, son! Show this world why I raised you!"
She didn't stop there.
"And don't forget to bring back a beautiful daughter-in-law for me, alright?! Don't take forever, you idiotttttt son!"
Her voice cracked into a laugh, then back into a shout.
"Also study well! Learn your magic properly! WRITE LETTERS! And don't forget your mother, you hear me? I'll always be your mother… the real one!"
Then she added, rapid-fire like a true mom:
Max still didn't look back.
He didn't know why exactly but he was sure if he did, he wouldn't be able to walk away.
Was magic really worth it?
He didn't even know what magic was yet. And already… he had to leave her behind.
"It's alright, kid," Julius muttered, breaking the silence as he placed a hand gently on Max's shoulder.
A warm glow spread from the touch.
In a blink, the wounds from the explosion the burns, the cuts vanished.
"Don't cry. C'mon, give her a smile, kiddo." Julius grinned. "Those eyes are looking too damn watery. First lesson you ready? Men don't cry."
He ruffled Max's hair, then smacked the newly healed back.
"Return her smile. Make it a good one."
Headmaster Fledrock, still quiet, adjusted his grip on the cane. A soft, rare smile ghosted across his lips.
"Who says that?" he murmured.
Then, louder, for Max to hear:
"They say if you don't cry when leaving someone you love behind…
Then it was never love in the first place."
Julius clicked his tongue at this weak centerd thoughts.
Max bit his lip, eyes trembling, holding the flood at bay.
Then… it broke.
He turned back, just slightly, and waved downward.
"I will… Just… take care of yourself, you old witch," he shouted, voice cracking. "Please, for me. I will be back."
His voice faltered, but he kept going.
"And yeah I'll bring back the most beautiful daughter-in-law you've ever seen. Promise. Just wait for me."
A tear traced a line down his cheek.
Down below, his idiot sandwich of a mother looked up, eyes flooded too, lips trembling into the biggest, most broken smile in the world.
Ahh and also
"Change your underwear every day!"
"Eat full meals!"
"Brush your teeth, please! And WASH properly!"
She screamed it all in one breath like a final checklist, yelling from below as if she'd just remembered it last second.
Max almost stumbled on the carpet, tripping over his own foot at the sudden barrage of motherly chaos.
Julius let out a short bark of laughter, and even the usually unreadable Fledrock chuckled under his breath.
With a faint hum, the carpet lifted higher into the sky, tilting slightly as it turned southward.
"Let's go," Fledrock said simply.
And just like that they were off.

I know things have been moving a bit slow, but I've been setting up the groundwork. Starting from the next chapter, we're cutting to the chase straight into the core plot: system functions, the magic academy, and some game-changing developments.
Don't lose interest just yet. Trust me, the real magic hasn't even started. If you think it's been dragging that's fair but the buildup was necessary. Introducing the key characters took time, and now that's done, the pace is about to pick up big time.
Lets go to NONSENSICAL MAGICIAN
