Lily's pulse thundered in her ears as she and Noah stormed out of the hotel, the weight of the revelation pressing down on her. Elias was involved. Somehow, someway, her brother was tangled in this mess, and now Langley was gone. If they didn't find Elias soon, he could be next.
Noah walked briskly beside her, phone in hand, fingers moving rapidly as he pulled up every possible lead. "I've got a few locations where his phone was last active," he said. "He's been moving around a lot. If he's running, he knows someone is after him."
Lily clenched her fists. "Then we need to get to him first."
Noah nodded. "There's an abandoned warehouse on the outskirts of the city. His phone pinged there an hour ago. It's our best shot."
Lily didn't hesitate. "Then let's go."

The drive was silent, tense. The city lights faded behind them as they reached the outskirts, where old industrial buildings stood like hollowed-out skeletons of a forgotten past. The warehouse loomed ahead, its exterior rusted and weather-worn.
Lily's heart pounded as she stepped out of the car, scanning the surroundings. The air was thick with the scent of rain and metal. "Are you sure this is it?"
Noah checked his phone. "Positive."
They approached cautiously, weapons at the ready. The large metal doors were slightly ajar, creaking as Lily pushed them open.
Inside, the warehouse was dimly lit by a few flickering lights. Stacks of crates and old machinery created a labyrinth of shadows.
Then she saw him.
Elias.
He stood in the middle of the room, his back turned to them, speaking into a phone. His posture was tense, his free hand curled into a fist.
Lily took a shaky step forward. "Elias."
He spun around, eyes wide with shock. The phone slipped from his fingers, clattering to the ground. "Lily?"
Her throat tightened. "What the hell is going on?"
Elias's gaze flickered to Noah, then back to her. His expression hardened. "You shouldn't be here."
Lily stepped closer, her voice breaking. "Then tell me what's happening. Tell me why your name is in that folder. Why Langley is missing. Why people are trying to kill me."
Elias exhaled sharply, raking a hand through his dark hair. "It's complicated."
Lily's patience snapped. "Then uncomplicate it."
A heavy silence hung between them before Elias finally spoke, his voice low and strained. "I never wanted you to get involved in this."
Lily's blood ran cold. "Involved in what?"
Elias hesitated. Then, in a voice barely above a whisper, he said, "In the truth."
A noise behind them made Noah tense, his hand moving to his gun. Lily turned just in time to see figures emerging from the shadows, their silhouettes sharp and menacing.
They weren't alone.
And they had just walked into a trap.
