Chapter 10: System Online

As we journeyed deeper into the forest, Sophia's warnings about The Order's agents echoed in my mind. I had been experiencing strange, vivid dreams since our encounter with the vampire, and I couldn't shake the feeling that something was awakening within me.

Sophia's eyes locked on mine as we walked. "Kae, I've been noticing something," she said, her voice low and serious. "Your powers are growing stronger. I think it's connected to the mysterious energy signature we detected earlier."

I frowned, trying to remember. "The one we sensed near the abandoned church?" I asked.

Sophia nodded. "The same one. I think it's a magical signature, and it's calling to you."

As she spoke, the air around us began to charged with electricity. I felt my powers surging, responding to the magical signature. Sophia grabbed my arm, her eyes flashing with concern.

"Kae, be careful!" she shouted, but it was too late.

My powers exploded, releasing a blast of energy that sent us both flying. I landed hard on the ground, dazed and disoriented.

As I struggled to sit up, I saw Sophia rushing towards me, her eyes wide with concern. But before she could reach me, a bright light enveloped me, and everything went white.

When the light faded, I found myself in a strange, virtual realm. A disembodied voice spoke to me, echoing in my mind.

"Welcome, Kae," the voice said. "I am the System. You have been chosen to wield my power."

I stared, stunned, as the System began to explain its purpose and the abilities it would grant me. I felt my mind expanding, my powers growing stronger.

Sophia's voice cut through the haze, her eyes locked on mine. "Kae, what's happening?" she asked, her voice trembling with concern.

I smiled, feeling a sense of wonder and excitement. "I think I'm being awakened," I said, my voice barely above a whisper.

The System's voice echoed in my mind once more. "Initialization complete. System online."

And with that, everything changed.
