The Stag is Ambushed

Tanzick Wedding Planners' building was in huge chaos. Employees literally rushed with folders and boxes or talked over phones with urgency. They landed with the biggest billionaire wedding of the year but in the shortest time. One week was not enough. However, even the busiest designers and chefs nodded when money was not an issue. Besides, who wouldn't want to be part of that big fat wedding?

A cool breeze from the air-con gently caressed Min's bare shoulders as the tailor tightened the waist of her dress. Oh, it was too tight. "Breath in Min, please," demanded the tailor. A gorgeous off-shoulder, long white chiffon wedding gown. Min turned around, swirling the many layers of her hem like a kid excited with her brand-new princess dress. Only it was her wedding gown.

"Gosh, Min, I can't believe you are already in your wedding dress," Meng Yao complained.

"Hmm, it feels like a dream." Min looked at her image in the full-length mirror.

"I can't believe it, girl, that you are getting married so soon; I mean, it was only two months ago that we attended our graduation party," Meng Yao's brows creased. Then, as if on second thoughts, she walked closer, looking at Min's image in the mirror, and complimented, "You'll make one stunning Bride of the Century, Min, and that designer dress will make every other unmarried girl envy you."

"Thank you, Meng Yao. I mean, for understanding me." Min looked into her friend's eyes with genuine tenderness, remembering how Meng Yao initially reacted to her announcement.

After Leo announced their marriage, Zhang's mansion was hysterical. Leo gently guided Min out of the sitting room and drove to her apartment. While seated in the comfort of his car, she waited for him to bring up the wedding topic, still shaken from his confession of 'love at first sight.'

The wait ended when they reached her apartment door. "Min, wait," he shoved both his hands in his pockets and walked closer to Min, "I know things have been crazy in the past hour, but I need to ask: do you wish to marry me? Before you answer Min, let me tell you that no matter what your response is, I can deal with it. If you say no, everything stops here. No questions asked." He paused, "And if you accept, I'll be a happy man." He looked anxious yet managed to give her one of his alluring smiles.

Ah, well, it wasn't the romantic roses and diamond ring or marriage proposal that Min had dreamed of, but it was definitely the guy of her dreams. She nodded slowly, "I don't know the reason for such haste in announcing our wedding to the world, Leo; however, I accept." She laughed harshly, throwing her hands up in the air, "God, I must be crazy to go along with your proposal."

Leo swiftly got hold of both her hands, "Thank you, Min, for accepting. I didn't plan to ask you to marry me like this, but I'll make up for it. That's a promise." She had nodded, perhaps still confused to say something, and at that moment, the rogue had pulled her closer into the warm circle of his arms. He looked into her eyes and said, "I hope you know that now your silly dating rules are no longer valid, Miss Xing Min?"

Her wild heart raced and pounded in the joy of being inches away from his heart at that moment. Despite that, her silly face turned crimson as she avoided his eyes. Oh, when would she stop blushing in his presence? She tried to push his firm chest. "Let me go, Leo," she whispered, still unable to meet his eyes.

"Not unless you look at me," he had drawled, crushing her soft, full breasts to the hard wall of his chest. Oh, those butterflies were becoming professional gymnasts in her tummy, given the amount of practice they have been doing lately. Sighing, she looked into those shiny grey eyes; he smiled and let go like a true gentleman. Min was sure her heart had bowed to him at that moment! She had rushed into the apartment to share the mind-blowing news with Meng Yao.

Alas, Meng Yao had reacted totally the opposite of what she had expected. Surprised and terribly suspicious. First, she had screamed, and second, she had touched her forehead to check whether she had a fever or not. She had paced the floor and had finally dropped the bomb, "Are you pregnant? You minx, why didn't you tell me that you have lost your V card to billionaire playboy Zhang Leo?"

"Nothing has happened," Min had hesitated before adding, "I... we haven't done it yet." She had waited for Meng Yao to digest that information.

"Are you saying that Leo has announced marriage without even sampling the goods that he's getting?" she scoffed. "I can't believe it. There has to be something..."

"He loves me." Min looked into her friend's eyes, expecting her to understand her feelings. And I love him, Meng Yao. I don't know when it happened, but I have fallen for him and want to give this proposal a go." Min noticed Meng Yao's frown despite her disbelief and excitement. She knew then that her friend would support her decision.

Min jerked back from her reverie. Now, what Meng Yao had said was bugging her, too. Leo, the playboy, had not slept with his girlfriend or even tried to get intimate with her. Hell, he had not even kissed her properly. Well, her rules for dating may have been the reason concluded Min. Or why would he keep his hands off her? Anyway, had he not warned her that her rules would no longer apply now that he was going to get married to her? Maybe things will change now, Min thought as she absentmindedly followed the designer's instructions. Perhaps she will be that virgin bride who will live up to the meaning of a white wedding dress in the twenty-first-century billionaire wedding.

At that moment, her mobile phone beeped, and her heart leaped when she saw Leo's message. But Meng Yao grabbed her phone before her and gave her that wicked smile. "Meng Yao," Min warned, trying to keep the smile away from her face. "Give it to me," she extended her hand for her phone. She would have gone after Meng Yao had the tailor not blocked her way.

Meng Yao skipped away from Min's reach and swiped the phone. "Let's see what the man wants." Her brows creased as she read the message aloud: " I am on my way to Bangkok and will return tomorrow afternoon."

"What? He's going to Thailand?"

Meng Yao laughed loudly, "My dear naïve Min, Bangkok is a well-known city for bachelor parties," she winked at Min. "Your future husband will be drained of all his vigor before his wedding day."

Min did not like Meng Yao's teasing laughter, so she glared at her. Besides, how could Leo do this to her? Here she was, a polite future daughter-in-law, listening to Zhang Su Shan's demands like having her hair, facial, manicure, and pedicure done and trying on numerous outfits to get a new wardrobe, mainly to live up to Zhang's elegant standard. Did he even know how demanding this week has been for her? Just when Min thought she had little time to spend with Leo, he went to Thailand to party. Above all, he would return only the night before their wedding day!
