Loud music blared out from the apartment located a couple of blocks away.
It was 8:00 a.m. that morning and the occupant was still in bed, snoring away.
The room was all pink and beautiful with the nicest of views outside the large-screened window.
The girl snoring in her bed threw her hands up in the air and suddenly she was awake with an unusual smile on her face.
"Oh no, Jeez... not again. Don't tell me you are seriously dreaming about that jerk!" She mumbled with her eyes still closed.
Stephanie swung her feet down on the floor and put on her robe over her small transparent gown.
She searched for her flip-flops and found them beside her drawer and slid them onto her feet.
She wore them and walked into the bathroom. A few minutes later, she came back into the room and sat back on the bed feeling and looking very much refreshed and awakened.
She reached out and grabbed a remote control from her drawer and turned off the music player that was loudly booming very romantic songs from the early 80's collection that she had.
She placed back the remote on the drawer and as she moved her hand, something fell off the drawer. Stephanie stared at the ground.
A photo it was.
She tucked her long Chestnut hair behind her right ear as she bent forward to pick up the photo.
She turned it over and stared at the content.
Her hands shook when she saw the content of the photo. Her face crumpled into a big frown.
In the photo was a picture of herself and another girl. They were both in swimming suits at a beach.
"You b*tch...!" She breathed out the words softly and sniffed.
"It's been four months already but seems like yesterday when you decided to ruin the beautiful friendship we had."
"Good for you baby girl, I'm doing just fine without you. I'm not really as affected by your stupidity as you may be thinking, because my Jacob till loves me, b*tch!" Stephanie said again.
She continued staring at the picture, wondering why she's refused to dispose of the picture all this while. She put it back in the drawer and placed her make-up kit on it to avoid it getting blown away by air again, then stood up and walked out of the room to get a cup of hot coffee for herself. She came back into the room with a cup of coffee and sat on the bed, sipping her hot coffee gradually, enjoying every drop in every sip.
Her phone rang from behind her. She turned around and grabbed it immediately.
"Yes…?" she grawled into the receiver as she answered the call.
"Stephanie, why aren't you at work yet?"
Stephanie sighed. It was her mom who persistently wouldn't stay clear of her business.
"Mom... I just woke up not too long ago..."
"Stephanie!" Her mom yelled from the other side of the line. "What do you think is the time now? What's wrong with you?"
"I don't think I want to work at the studio anymore mom. I'm not cut out for that work stuff okay? I provide you guys with everything you need. What else bothers you?" Stephanie asked out loud, really pissed at her mum.
There was a deep sigh from the other end of the line. "Stephanie... don't tell me you still go out with your ex..."
"He's not my ex!! How many times do I have to tell you that, mom? Why is it so difficult for you to understand?" Stephanie yelled back at her.
"Aside from the unchangeable and undeniable fact that his mother hates you like some kind of piece of sh*t, he's married to your best friend!" Her mother yelled back in response.
"Now that's whom you should call my ex! That conniving b*tch!"
"Oh, Stephanie.... don't tell me you are going to stop working all because that billionaire gives you a lot of money! When are you going to grow up? You need to grow up girl, and be your own woman!" Her mom shouted again.
"I've got a headache mom. See you later...," Stephanie mumbled and ignored her mom's warnings, and hung up the phone on her.
"Stephanie, Stephanie? Oh she hung up on me? What a nerve!" her mother said in a rage and walked away from the phone.
Stephanie rolled her eyes, picked up her empty cup, angrily got up from bed, and walked out of the room. She had a lot of places to go to and needed to start of her day from somewhere.
She got dressed and headed towards the Nelson's group.
Jacob was rounding up his breakfast when Nelly, his secretary walked into the office. "What do you want?" He asked without looking up.
"Miss Stephanie is waiting outside. Should I let her in? I tried to explain to her that you do not wish to be disturbed at the moment, but she flared up and is already making a scene," Nelly explained.
"Let her in immediately. I only asked you to cancel my appointments for today, not stop my girlfriend from coming in to see me."
"Okay, sir," Nelly said and quietly left the office. It was another big offense if your shoes dare make any sound on the floor or if you should mistakenly make a single noise with the door.
"There he is!" Stephanie exclaimed as she walked into the office.
Jacob looked up and finally smiled for the first time since the day started. "There she is!" He replied.
Stephanie walked around the table and sat on his laps. She dunks her nails into his soft brown hair and kissed him slowly on his lips.
Jacob grunted as he ran his hands along her almost naked back and pressed her harder, chest to chest, to himself. "I've missed this, I have missed you girl."
Stephanie stopped and looked into his face. "Now, you want me to believe that? If you missed this really as you just said, then divorce that b*tch already. I wonder what she's still doing in that house! Anytime I come into the house and see her, I feel like puking right into her face! She's such a disgusting shameless whore!"
Jacob breathed in and touched her hair. "You know I would divorce her if I had the chance, Stephanie. You know how my mother is and more so, she's carrying my child. My hands are completely tied. Each passing day, I keep on wishing there's something I can do about the whole situation..."
Stephanie stood up and walked to the window, her back turned against Jake. A careless tear rolled down her left cheek. She wiped it away quickly, glaring at the window as her mind drifted to the night Maria betrayed her.
"Ouch! My head... it hurts so bad!" Stephanie mumbled as she slowly sat up on the bed. She looked around, trying to remember how she got in.
She couldn't remember a thing at all. "What happened?" She mumbled again as she stood up and walked out of the room.
She went down the stairs looking around and belching the whole time as a result of the hangover she was having.
Most of the people who attended the party the night before had already left, leaving the whole place in a mess.
Stephanie met a few people still around though, but she couldn't find her boyfriend and her best friend. "Where could they be? Did they leave without me?" Stephanie asked.
She walked into the other hallway, checking the rooms.
She heard some noise from a particular room and stopped in front of the door.
Slowly, she pushed the door open and walked in, only to see the greatest shock of her life!
On the bed was Jacob her boyfriend and her best friend Maria.
