"Form a line! We're covering the retreat to the central plaza!" Enoc shouted.
He had lost contact with most of his forces, but still had a handful of loyal soldiers who followed his orders without hesitation.
Amid the chaos, a different sound stopped him.
A guttural, deep voice filled with cruelty called out his name.
"ENOC!" the voice thundered.
From the balcony of the city lord's office, Orkus stood imposingly. His bare chest was stained with blood. Behind him, the flag of Ikarus burned like a useless rag.
But Enoc wasn't looking at that.
He was looking at the figure Orkus held by the neck with a single hand.
"No…" he whispered, his throat dry, as if the air had frozen.
It was Avelia.
Her hair, usually tied up with elegance, now hung in disarray. Her arms dangled, barely struggling.
"AVELIA!"
Wings burst from his back like flashes of light, and his body shot toward the balcony like an arrow driven by rage.
"LET HER GO! LET HER GO, ORKUS!"
The Gurka giant only smiled — a twisted, wild, mocking smile.
"Come, little falcon… Come see how the ones you love die."
And he squeezed his hand.
With a dry crack, Avelia's body convulsed before going limp.
Her eyes, still fixed on Enoc, softened. A faint, final smile formed on her lips.
Enoc reached the balcony a second later.
Too late.
Time stopped for Enoc, and his world turned blood red.
The Sharingan in his left eye, which had been spinning furiously, shifted into a new pattern. Three tomoe curved inward, merging into a unique symbol. The Mangekyō Sharingan had awakened.
And with it… came understanding.
"One second."
Everything around him seemed to rewind for an instant before returning to normal.
He was back in the plaza — one second before Orkus tightened his grip.
Noah, now fully aware, was no longer Enoc. He released all the mental and physical seals he had imposed on himself. His power returned like a wave that had been held back for far too long.
In a flash, he appeared before Orkus.
He grabbed his head with one hand, and with eyes full of cold resolve, clenched his fist.
The Gurka's skull burst like a ripe fruit.
Noah looked down. Avelia was alive, still unconscious of what had happened — or what could have happened.
He approached her and gazed at her in silence for a few seconds. Then he reached out and placed two fingers on her forehead.
"Live well. Don't remember me," he said, his face devoid of emotion.
A gentle spell erased all her memories of him.
She collapsed softly, as if she had merely fainted.
Noah's hand then transformed into a giant head that swallowed Orkus's corpse before returning to normal.
Noah felt an itch on his back, and beneath his two white wings, two new black feathered wings formed.
Unfolding his four wings, he left the place.
He reappeared in a dark cave where a giant T-Rex was sleeping.
With a flash of his hand, a golden lightning bolt pierced the T-Rex's head, killing it.
Dragging the corpse outside the cave, Noah now focused on the many tasks ahead.
First, there was his newly awakened Mangekyō Sharingan.
It granted him a unique ability called Kaiki, meaning regression in Japanese.
Kaiki allows him to rewind one second in time, though it can only be used once, as it consumes nearly all his chakra. Even if he had enough chakra, he still couldn't use it more than once a day due to the eye's stress; forcing a second activation could destroy it completely.
"Alright, let's begin."
Taking out a vial of blood from a magical beast, he began drawing a transmutation circle.
When he finished, he tore out his left eye—an eye he had fought so hard to obtain—and threw it into the formation.
The eye didn't fall to the ground but instead hovered in the air.
Then he took out two more eyes: Obito's eyes.
The three eyes floated in the air for a moment before starting to converge.
When the three touched, they began to slowly merge into a single eyeball engraved with a strange pattern: it looked like a sun eclipsed by a black moon, with six flame-like extensions spiraling outward, surrounded by six small tomoe.
The red eye rose into the air before flying into the empty eye socket, returning to its place.
Noah blinked for a moment, and the Eternal Mangekyō Sharingan returned to its base form, leaving his iris completely black.
"Now that my left eye is fully awakened, I should awaken my right eye too."
Noah smiled and opened a vial of genetic serum created from Toneri's DNA.
The serum was immediately absorbed by his cells, and his body began to change.
Throbbing veins started spreading around his right eye, which slowly turned a light blue color.
Noah felt a sharp pain coming from his right eye, but he simply ignored it and calmly put on a bandage.
He then pulled out a bed and lay down on it.
The Byakugan would need to undergo a roughly one-month adaptation period to fully mature into a Tenseigan, so he decided to spend that month simply sleeping.
As the days passed, the iris of his right eye slowly changed.
Over the sky-blue background, a white six-petaled flower pattern emerged.
When the pattern fully formed, the throbbing pain ceased, though this was only the beginning: the eye would have to go through the same process three more times.
Once his body adapted to the first activation, the eye moved on to the second.
A new six-pointed flower pattern began forming over the previous one.
Along came another wave of painful pulses that would have driven any normal person to bash their head against a wall, but Noah simply clenched his teeth and stayed in bed.
The third was more of the same. But when the fourth and final wave hit, it nearly drove him insane.
Due to the complexity of his chakra, the pain he had to endure was far worse than usual.
When the pain finally ended, Noah got up from bed with a terrible headache, but a wide smile was painted on his face.
Wiping the blood from the corner of his mouth, he cast a mirror spell to see himself and observed how much his eyes had changed.
His right eye was sky-blue, illuminated by a white flower pattern.
His left eye, on the other hand, was blood red with a black solar eclipse pattern.
With the full awakening of his Tenseigan came the knowledge of its abilities and how to activate them.
With an excited smile, he left the cave and carefully observed the outside, looking for a good target to test his new powers.
In the distance, he saw a massive four-horned mammoth peacefully drinking from a lake.
"Alright! You should be able to handle it."
With a flash, he vanished from his spot, flying toward the mammoth.
The mammoth's ears twitched and it raised its trunk in alert, scanning for the threat.
Noah appeared in front of it, and after rubbing his chin, decided to test how powerful an all-out attack would be with all his power-ups activated.
"Sage Mode!"
His eyes turned yellow with vertical pupils, and red markings appeared beneath his eyes.
From both sides of his head, two bony horns grew, curving around his skull until they met at his forehead, forming something like a crown.
This was a result of Jūgo's cells and couldn't be removed—not that Noah cared to.
His new horns, along with his white and black wings, made him resemble a Nephalem born of an angel and a demon.
"Eternal Mangekyō Sharingan! Tenseigan!"
His left eye turned into a rapidly spinning three-tomoe Sharingan that fused into a black solar eclipse pattern.
The Byakugan turned blue before a flower pattern bloomed on its surface.
Upon activation, the Sage Mode transformation details vanished from his pupils, leaving only the red eyeliner and horns.
"Chakra Mode!"
Noah formed a series of hand seals, and his body ignited in cyan flames that engulfed him completely.
Three black orbs formed behind him, floating above his back.
The mammoth's eyes narrowed as it sensed the threat and lifted its trunk high before slamming it toward Noah.
"Susanoo!"
A dark red ribcage surrounded Noah's body and blocked the attack.
"I can still do even better!"
Noah placed both hands on the ribcage, and the cyan flames covering his body spread over the skeletal frame.
A dark red skeletal arm cloaked in cyan flames formed over the ribcage and crashed into the mammoth.
The beast exploded on contact, as if it were a balloon.
Noah blinked in confusion for a moment before bursting into laughter.
He was far from mastering his Susanoo or Chakra Mode, but he could already form a rudimentary fusion of them—and his power far exceeded his expectations.
"What I need to do now is master the full power of both my eyes."
