Good fortune, my ass! How will I use it in prison?
That was the sole thought in Jack's head. Despite knowing struggling would land him in trouble, he wanted to see Granny, and tried forcing himself off the wall.
"Stop being troublesome. Stay still!"
The policewoman groaned before pushing him back. Jack wasn't in the mood to obey, but then he felt a familiar feeling on his back. The feeling of a well-proportioned woman pressing her body against his.
Jack was confused, but even more surprised because he didn't remember a policewoman ever arresting someone with her breasts pressed against their back.
Had he known, he would have dated more policewomen. Not to mention, they had all the things to turn one's bedroom life spicy. But his thoughts were interrupted by Granny's voice.
Jack turned his head and saw a glimpse of Granny walking out of the kitchen. She had a casserole in hand and was probably setting up the table for dinner.
The scene confused him even more. Granny was fine, so what was the officer arresting him for?
"Angela, let him go or I'll whack you!"
"Grandma, you're no fun," the woman chuckled, getting off Jack's back. "Sorry about that."
Jack didn't reply as she uncuffed him. Instead, he looked at the policewoman. Her wavy red hair reached to her shoulders, while her green eyes looked at him with interest, a finger resting against her pink lips.
She wore a form-fitting police uniform that hugged her curves a little too tightly. Her dark blue shirt was buttoned to the top, but was causing a bit of a strain on the buttons.
Her skirt stopped just above her knees, revealing the black stockings she wore underneath. A utility belt, along with shiny black flat heels, completed her professional look.
But Jack couldn't ogle at her for long since Granny got her by the ear.
"Ow, ow, ow—!"
Angela winced in pain, but Granny didn't let go.
"You brat, I told you not to prank him, did I not?" Granny scolded. "So, why did you do it?"
"Ow—sorry, grandma! I thought it would be fun!"
"What will you do if he filed a complaint against you? You just got promoted and you're already causing problems. Do you have no shame?"
"Wait, wait! I'll apologies to him. Just let me go for a moment!"
Granny huffed and let her go before turning to Jack.
"Jack, don't take this brat's action to heart," she said. "I'll apologies in her stead, so please don't file a report against her."
"Um…"
Jack definitely wanted to teach the redhead bitch a lesson for nearly giving him a heart attack. For a moment, he thought his life was over, but it wasn't like he could tell them about it.
Not to mention, Granny was asking him not to do it, so he wouldn't, even if he had the option to.
"Of course, Granny," Jack smiled. "You don't have to apologies. After all, it's not your fault."
"See Grandma? I told you it'll be fine—"
WHACK!
Without a second's hesitation, Granny smacked Angela in the head.
"Why are you not apologizing? Do you think I won't ask him to report you if you don't?"
"Oh, come on, you can't bully a cop!"
"Sure, but I can bully my granddaughter anytime I want! No law is stopping me from that!"
Angela rolled her eyes, but quickly turned serious and apologized to Jack.
"I'm sorry, I didn't think things through. Ignore grandma and report me if you want to. I won't hold it against you—"
"No need," Jack replied, waving it off. "I trust Granny. If she said it was a prank, then it was a prank. But please be careful. People are already apprehensive about cops and you don't want to make it worse."
Jack thought Angela would be grateful to him. Instead, he saw her frowning as she turned to Granny.
"Grandma, are you sure he's younger than me? He's talking like a pastor or something—ow!"
"You brat, you should reflect on yourself! He's younger than you, yet more mature. What have they been feeding you in the academy? If you can't do anything, at least help me set the table."
It seemed even cops weren't immune to Granny's threatening aura as Angela practically ran into the kitchen as soon as she let her ear go. Once she was gone, Granny turned to Jack with her characteristic smile.
"Don't mind Angela, dear. She's a bit feisty for her age."
"It's alright, Granny, but I didn't know you had such a beautiful granddaughter too—"
"Oh no, it's not like that," Granny said, waving her hand dismissively. "She was a case like you. She left the countryside and got scammed here in the city, losing everything."
She continued, "I found her and brought her here. She worked part time and paid a part of rent while preparing for the police academy entrance exam. Then she left after getting admitted. She wanted to keep sending some money to me, but I declined—"
"So that's why you fell back on rent," Jack said, nodding along.
"Yes. She graduated from the academy and used a few connections to get posted here, and came to surprise me."
"I see, so that prank—"
Jack was about to ask something when Juan came running in, panting like crazy. After everything that happened, Jack completely forgot about Juan and felt bad for him, until the brat opened his mouth, that is.
"You useless uncle!" he panted. "How can you leave a child to carry three bags of food? This is child labor—Big sis!"
The takeout bags hit the floor when Juan saw Angela. He rushed towards her, jumping into her arms. Angela smiled and lifted him into her arms.
"So, how's my brave little man doing?" she asked, kissing her forehead. "I hope you're not lagging in your studies?"
"…eh, let's not talk about unimportant stuff."
"You brat, let me deal with you." Granny said, rolling up her sleeves. "Where is my spatula?"
"Oi!"
Juan jumped from Angela's lap and hid behind Jack for protection.
"Stop hiding and come here!"
Granny, too, was having with all her loved ones under one roof. It wasn't until Angela's stomach grumbled than Granny returned to mama bear mode.
"This brat made me forget about the food," she said, holding Angela's shoulder. "Go wash your hands and I'll serve the food."
"Saved…owie!"
Juan had barely let out a sigh of relief when Jack pulled his cheek.
"Why is Angela big sis, and I'm uncle when she's older than me?" he asked.
Juan rubbed his cheek, glaring at Jack.
"Because big sis is big sis and uncle is uncle!" Juan said, running into the kitchen.
"This boy…" Jack chuckled, shaking his head.
