Jack opened his eyes again. Only this time, the faint pain from being hit on the head accompanied. Ignoring the faint pain, he looked around, hoping everything that happened at Granny's was a nightmare, but it wasn't.
He wasn't in the broken home he had grown used to, but a room pulled straight out of a aristocratic drama. The first thing that caught his attention was the massive bed. It was too soft for his comfort, unlike the broken mattress at Granny's place.
It would have been the perfect dream if not for the restrains binding him to the bed. It seemed the crazy bitch he met before didn't want to let him go.
"What is… going on?"
The room screamed of luxury, but it was more like a golden prison. The only difference was that the warden was there in the cell.
"Consider them temporary protective measures."
Anna sat right across from him, her legs crossed. For a moment, Jack was taken aback by her expressionless face, but it changed when he woke up.
"You're awake," she smiled. "I was worried I hit you too hard."
First you hit someone, then act like you saved them? What is wrong with you? No, no, don't go down that rabbit hole.
Anna, if that was her real name, was too secretive. She was the kind of woman Jack hated even more than influencers. Their secretive nature made them unpredictable and not in the fun way.
He wanted nothing to do with her, but it was too late for that now.
"How are you feeling?" she asked.
Jack scoffed, no it was more like a sarcastic chuckle.
"Oh, I can't complain," he said. "After all, I don't get kidnapped by such a retty lady every day. It's the highlight of my year, no my entire life! One of the top 10 moments indeed."
Jack expected Anna to glare at him or perhaps knock him out again. Instead, she looked at him and laughed. It was a genuine laugh. He was taken aback, because she seemed nothing like the frigid woman he thought she was.
…don't tell me she's crazy. Although, evidence would suggest otherwise.
"Ha… ha… I'm glad your tongue is still as sharp as ever," she said, struggling not to laugh.
Yeah… she's crazy. And she's probably gonna stab me for making her laugh.
Suddenyl, Anna stood up and walked over to him. Before he knew what was happening, she raised her hand. Jack flinched, thinking he was about to get hit again. Instead, she caressed his cheek.
"You look just like him…" she said, tears glistening her eyes. "Everything about you is the same… then why don't you remember me?"
"Probably because… you got the wrong guy?"
Jack's words surprised Anna, and she quickly wiped her tears before mumbling something that he couldn't make the head or the tail about.
"Rome 202."
"What are you talking about?"
As soon as those words left his mouth, all the warmth in her eyes disappeared. She withdrew her hand as if she was touching a pile of garbage.
She even pulled out a small bottle of disinfectant, sprayed it on her hands, and rubbed them together furiously.
"Look, lady, I might not be the cleanest guy out there, but hell, I'm not a virus!"
"You…! Who are—?"
Anna was interrupted when the doors were flung open and a bald, burly man walked in with some documents. Anna took them from him and opened it with trembling fingers.
She read through the pages like her life depended on it before dropping it all after reading the last page. Slowly, she turned to Jack. Her tear-stained face reminded him of a yandere character who killed the guy she loved in an anime.
Fuck this. I want nothing to do with you, woman! Not in this timeline and definitely in no other! Goddess, save me! SOS! SOS! SOS!
He wanted to turn away, but then he noticed her expression again. She wasn't disgusted anymore, instead; she looked… happy and even cupped his face with her hands, forcing him to look at her.
"I knew it," she mumbled. "I knew it was you…"

No, no, no! Why is this crazy bitch a target!? Jenna, I don't like this!
[It's the goddess's decision.]
I don't care what Justa wants—
[It's goddess Fortuna's decision.]
…wait a minute, what is that?
Just then, jack's eye fell on the scattered papers on the floor and his eyes widened in disbelief and the clearly printed words.

A few hours later…
Before Jack knew it, he was staring at massive portraits of himself, only he didn't remember ever posing for them. Some showed him hunting wild animes, while others doing the same, but with humans. Not to mention the countless luxury getaways. In all of them, Aana stood next to him like a shadow.
What kind of crazy life did I live before?
He took his gaze off the portraits and looked around the mansion. It was all his. Even the hundreds of guards stationed around listened to his every command. He knew because he made them bark like dogs and they did just that with no questions asked.
Just then, Anna appeared behind him. She hadn't stopped smiling after seeing the reports. The only time it faltered was when Jack told her he didn't know her or anyone in the entire mansion, for that matter.
He did it to check the waters, but after witnessing her go back to her yandere mode, he didn't dare mention it again.
I wonder if she's the reason I was living like a homeless bum. Well… can't say I blame the previous owner. This bitch is crazier than all the green hats combined.
It still felt awkward thinking someone else was in control of his body at once. But he was getting used to it. After all, he was in control now, and that's what mattered the most.
"I have something for you," Anna said, maintaining a respectful distance from him.
"What is it?"
Anna smiled after hearing his authoritative tone. Jack had picked up on it soon after waking up and decide to use it to please Anna, as she was the last person he wanted to piss off.
She nodded and the servant next to her removed the velvet cloth draped over the plate.
"…"
Jack's mind went blank when he saw what it was. He was greeted by a golden Desert Eagle pistol. But that wasn't all. Next to it were two black cards with his name engraved on them, and his old phone next to a new one.
"You left these with me," Anna said, staring at Jack. "I'm returning them to you now."
But she was wrong.
Those things didn't belong to him.
They belonged to the crime lord that he never was.
What do I do now? I'll be doomed if I reject her. Fuck my life.
