Frist Mission

After dinner they all went to bed.

---

The base was silent when the sun rose, but that peace didn't last long.

Jade was already awake, finishing up her morning workout when she heard movement from the others. She wiped the sweat off her face, stretching her arms as she stepped out of her room. The faint hum of Lexi's systems echoed through the halls.

One by one, the rest of the squad emerged. Skye was adjusting her holo-gloves, already reviewing some data. Ari yawned as she tied her hair back, still half-asleep. Gage, as usual, didn't say a word, heading straight for the common area. Rico… was dragging his feet like a man who had lost all hope.

"Why are we awake?" Rico mumbled. "We had one day off. That should mean one week off."

"You sound like an old man," Jade shot back, rolling her eyes.

They each went about their morning chores—tidying up their rooms, checking their gear, and making sure the base was in top shape. Even Rico, despite his usual laziness, actually helped. Probably because he knew Jade would drag him by the ear if he didn't.

By the time they were done, the smell of breakfast filled the air. Gage, their unofficial chef, had already taken over the kitchen again. Lexi assisted, floating beside him as he cooked, while the others set the table.

As they sat down to eat, the peaceful atmosphere didn't last long.

A loud beep echoed through the room.

A holographic screen appeared before them, displaying their instructor's face. His expression was unreadable as he spoke.

"snipe Squad . Your first mission is here."

The air shifted. Everyone straightened up.

Jade's eyes narrowed. "What's the assignment?"

The instructor smirked slightly. "Check the details yourself."

On cue, Lexi projected the mission briefing in front of them.

MISSION: CODE SILENCE

Objective: Infiltrate an abandoned facility outside the city. Extract intel from its main server. Unknown hostiles may be present.

Time Limit: 3 hours.

Restrictions: Stealth is recommended. Avoid unnecessary combat.

Jade's fingers twitched slightly as she read. A stealth mission right off the bat? Interesting.

Rico groaned. "Why is it always the creepy abandoned buildings?"

Ari was already studying the map. "We'll need to move fast. If hostiles show up, we can't afford to waste time."

Skye nodded, her eyes flickering as she processed the data. "I can hack the system on-site, but we'll need a secure position."

Gage, as usual, remained silent, but his expression was focused.

Jade cracked her knuckles. "Well, snipe Squad …" she smirked. "Time to see what we're made of."
