Chapter 48: A New Reality

The next morning, Jackim sat on his bed, staring at his phone screen. His mind was still struggling to process everything.

$5,020.00 from completing the last task.

It was a decent sum, more than he'd ever had at once before the mysterious phone came into his life. But compared to what he now truly possessed, it was nothing.

His inheritance.

Massive. Untouched. A fortune so grand that even the wealthiest businessmen would pale in comparison. Yet, he still had to act like the same broke student everyone looked down on.

His classmates still mocked him. His professors still disregarded him. Even the girl who once held his heart had tossed him aside like trash.

He sighed and leaned back, staring at the ceiling.

Would he ever get used to this?

Just then, a knock came at his dorm door.

Jackim frowned. No one ever visited him unless it was for something unpleasant. He hesitated for a moment before dragging himself up and opening the door.

A man in a sleek black suit stood outside. His posture was straight, exuding an air of professionalism. In his hands, he carried a sleek black box.

"Delivery for Mr. Jackson," the man announced in a smooth, business-like tone.

Jackim raised a brow. "From who?"

"I'm only told to deliver it. Please sign here."

Jackim glanced down at the digital pad the man held out. His name was already on the screen, waiting for his confirmation.

He hesitated, then signed.

"Thank you, sir," the man said before turning and walking off down the hallway, leaving Jackim standing there with the mysterious package in his hands.

Slowly, he closed the door, placed the box on his desk, and exhaled.

With careful fingers, he lifted the lid.

Inside was a luxury watch worth over $15,000.

A Patek Philippe.

The craftsmanship was breathtaking. The gold and silver accents gleamed under the dim dorm room light. Even someone with little knowledge of expensive watches could tell that this was not something ordinary.

Jackim gulped.

This was the reward for his second task.

His phone buzzed.

A new message.

"Task #3: Buy a luxury car today. No price limit."

"Reward: You will receive a VIP membership card that grants unlimited access to high-end clubs, restaurants, and hotels."

Jackim nearly dropped his phone.

A luxury car? Overnight?

This wasn't just a game anymore.

Even though he now had a fortune, he had no intention of making his wealth public just yet. If he suddenly showed up to school in a Bugatti, Ferrari, or Rolls-Royce, everyone would go crazy. Questions would be asked. Suspicions would rise.

He had to be careful.

His mind raced.

How could he pull this off without attracting attention?

A knock at his door interrupted his thoughts again.

This time, it wasn't a stranger.

It was his classmate, Brian.

A loudmouth. A rich kid from a prominent family.

Jackim narrowed his eyes before opening the door.

Brian smirked, leaning against the doorframe. "Heard you got a delivery. What's in the box, poor boy? Some cheap shoes?"

Jackim didn't answer.

Brian laughed. "Must be embarrassing. You know, the way you're always getting looked down on… I almost feel bad for you."

Jackim clenched his fists.

But he didn't react.

"Anyway," Brian continued, shoving his hands into his expensive jeans. "The whole class is going to the new nightclub downtown tonight. VIP section. Oh, wait... you wouldn't know what that's like, huh?"

Jackim forced a smirk.

He had an idea now.

The task wanted him to buy a luxury car.

And Brian had just handed him the perfect opportunity.

Jackim tilted his head. "Are you inviting me?"

Brian snorted. "What? Hell no! We don't need broke kids ruining the atmosphere."

Jackim smiled. "I see."

Brian scoffed. "Anyway, enjoy your… whatever that is." He pointed at the box before walking away.

Jackim shut the door.

His heart was pounding.

If they wanted to see what luxury looked like, then he was about to show them.

His fingers flew across his phone screen as he pulled up a list of high-end dealerships.

He wasn't just going to buy a car.

He was going to make a statement.
