Chapter 14: Tricking Bai Yinyin

Leng Pan was no better. This was her first time in a man's bedroom and she didn't even know where to put her hands.

But she knew that she had to adapt quickly. She had made the decision to marry Lu Zhen and she had every intention of being a proper wife.

His mother and brother are coming back tomorrow and for the last two days of peace before the apocalypse, they will stay under the same roof. She didn't want to give them a reason to dislike her.

She knew from the book that even though Lu Zhen's mother didn't hate her, she had no good feelings about her either because she had kept her son hanging for so long.

She had valued her fake friend over her son, so of course any mother would feel uncomfortable.

But she didn't want them to have any conflict before the apocalypse, which might challenge their future interactions.

In the apocalypse, trust is a significant thing, and having family members with infighting issues could spell trouble.

So, she planned to avoid that as much as possible. And the only way to do it was to have a good and loving relationship with her husband.

Her mother-in-law will not cause trouble as long as her son is happy.

Leng Pan walked into the bathroom and was shocked when she entered the through door.

They were all living in the villa area but why was the difference so big? Her bathroom in her parents' villa was not even half as big and luxurious as this one.

The bathtub could fit four people and there was even a wine cabinet in the bathroom.

Lu Zhen really knew how to enjoy life.

Instead of taking a quick shower as she had planned, she decided to take a comfortable bath in the bathtub.

After all, she could only use it for two days and after that…well, maybe she could put it into her space and install it in the home they build in the future.

She smiled to herself at that thought.

Mmmm…that was what she would do.

She filled the bathtub with water, found a shower bomb in a cabinet filled with daily essentials and put it in the tub before stripping her clothes and stepping in.

After taking a bath for thirty minutes, she stepped out and took a clean towel from a rack next to the bathtub.

She wiped herself dry, before putting on a bathrobe and leaving the bathroom.

As soon as she stepped in the bedroom she heard her phone ringing in her purse.

It was already late, almost eight in the evening, who could be calling her at this time?

She walked over and took her phone out of the purse only to see an incoming call from the white lotus, Bai Yinyin.

Leng Pan rolled her eyes and really wished she could just ignore it, but she knew she couldn't.

Even though Bai Yinyin always acted like a delicate and innocent girl in front of others, she was far from being innocent.

She knew that if she grew desperate, she might do something extreme. To get the jade bangle, she would probably resort to despicable methods.

So, she still had to keep her hanging to prevent her from taking any drastic actions that might disrupt her plans.

She didn't want to have to be guarded against her when she was busy with stockpiling.

She picked up the phone and put it next to her ear.

"Hello Yinyin." He greeted the other person with the same tone the original Leng Pan used to.

"Panpan, where are you? I went to your apartment but you were not there. It's so late at night, a girl shouldn't be wandering around at this hour." Bai Yinyin spoke as if she was concerned about Leng Pan's safety.

But they both knew that she had gone there for the bangle and was frustrated that she didn't find her at home and get it.

Who goes to someone else's house without informing them and then blames the other part if they don't find them.

"I am sorry Yinyin, I am actually not in town. I left yesterday for City Y and will only be back the day after tomorrow." Leng Pan decided to make up a story to stop that woman from having any ideas about waiting for her at her apartment during the day. What will happen if she sees the renovations going on and starts to suspect something?

She was a reborn female lead after all. She may be ruthless and cunning, but she wasn't stupid. Otherwise, she would not have fooled the original Leng Pan to death.

" What!? What are you doing in City Y? And why didn't you tell me before leaving?" Bai Yinyin was fuming. This stupid girl actually went to another city at such a critical moment.

It wasn't like this in her previous life. Did her rebirth cause some changes to occur? But she didn't care about any changes as long as she got the bangle.

She wouldn't have guessed that the changes weren't caused by her rebirth, but because of the 'new' Leng Pan.

This Leng Pan was not an idiot and could use her brain. Having graduated early and joined the workforce for almost a year, she already knew how to deal with different types of people. And dealing with a white lotus was not a problem.

"I have some things to do. But don't worry, I will be back in two days at most. I will call you as soon as I get on the plane. You can pick me up at the airport." Leng Pan added some plans for good measure.

Asking her to pick her up at the airport would convince her that she was truly out of town.

"Then, can you tell me which shop you took that bangle to to be appraised? I could go and check it out for you." Bai Yinyin came up with another rotten idea to get the bangle.

Leng Pan did not doubt that if she really had given the bangle to some expert for appraisal and she told Bai Yinyin about it, then that woman would definitely find a way to get it.

The lies that woman could tell would even strip the white out of rice and make a cat believe it's a tiger.

Of course Leng Pan would not tell her anything. First of all the bangle had already merged with her and disappeared. Second, she could not let her know that she was lying, otherwise all her efforts would go to waste. And thirdly, she really wanted that woman to continue having hope only for it to be shattered later.

Let's see how she survives the apocalypse without any experience.
