Chapter 8

The next day I went to visit the woman whom her husband had died she was the wife of Mr Fred and I asked her if there was anyone she was suspecting. At first, she said no but then she said to me I don't think there's anyone I'm suspecting I don't think there's anyone my husband had any problems with apart from Mr Collins. Mr Collins came to our house 2 days ago he began to threaten my husband because my husband had told the detective what he claimed to be lies he told my husband that he will deal with him and that he will not go Scott free.Then yesterday afternoon I came back to meet my husband dead corpse.

I was shocked and I thanked her alot for her cooperation and I also consoled her and asked her to be strong.She nodded and I left.I knew that Mr Collins was responsible for the murder of Mr Collins and he was also responsible for the serial murder case I was investigating. I left the area and I went to uncle Jeremy's house just to cool my head when I went to uncle Jeremy's house he was happy to see me and I told him all the woman had said he was glad that I was investigating this issue and very soon Mr Collins was going to pay for all his evil deeds. He was happy and he hugged me so tight while he was hugging me I saw a paper in a book coming out with a signature I was surprised and I wanted to see what the paper was so when Mr Jeremy left he went to get some documents he will be signing while I am telling him some stories I quickly to the paper and began to read it to my greatest surprise it was something that was part of my investigation.

I looked at the paper and I read" I will be back and I will come back for Sarah I'll come back and I will make sure that I get what I want". bye for now signed with his signature. when I looked at it I didn't know what to do I thought to myself should I show you to uncle Jeremy or should I just take it to the investigation department but that can be termed stealing because I took something from someone's house without asking. so I think I would tell him when uncle Jeremy finally came downstairs ,he looked at me and he felt like something was wrong. he dropped the document and asked what was wrong with her she looks at him and said nothing. Deep down in her heart and in her mind she was still contemplating if she would tell him or not she looked at him for someone while he was busy signing some documents.

All of a sudden she asked a weird question uncle Jeremy I have a question for you did you ever meet the serial killer, did you ever see him ,did he ever come to to kill you. why are you asking such a question all of a sudden is anything running through your mind no I am just asking because I found a letter with a signature on it is that the signature of the serial killer. He bent his head and began to cry "years ago the serial killer wrote a letter to me and put it in my mailbox he said that any day he sees me with Sarah that day he will come to kill me although that was not what is written in the letter but that was what it meant". He began to cry profusely and I had to leave him I didn't ask him anymore questions I only told him to take heart and that Mr Collins will soon be brought to book.

When Mr Jeremy left to drop the document upstairs I secretly slipped the letter into my bag so that it will be used for investigation.

Days passed and the death of Mr Fred was still a mystery yet to be solved. and again after so many years a serial murder have been committed again. and this time it's just under my investigation it means that someone was watching me and that person was Mr Collins I believe he was watching my every move and he didn't want my investigation to go far the way it was meant to.

Deep down I felt like the only way for me to go far in this investigation was to arrest Mr Collins and investigate more on the issue. on your Wednesday morning I arrived early to my office and the immediately I came beauty from the intelligence department approached me. she rushed me and she said sir there is a footage of an old man in his late 50s or 60s going to the place where Mr and Mrs Johnson with their child Maria was buried in their house. sir the audio seem to have also recorded some things he had said because from the footage it seemed that he was talking to their grave. who knows what he had actually said there because he stayed there for a very long time and he had said a lot. sir I really think you need to come and check on this because this may be the beginning of your true investigation of this whole issue. I looked at her and I didn't want to waste more time so I followed her into the department alone she puts up the footage and I saw an old man not that old but he seems have been in his 50s or 60s I then ordered her to make the recorders active so that we could hear what the man was saying. he was in a black hoodie and we couldn't actually see him all we could use identified that he was a man was his voice and I listened carefully to all he said.

We began watching the video it always started from him walking through the main gate, his hands at his back crossed he stood and looked left and right to check if anyone had seen him. it appeared that he came at exactly 5:05am. Apparently that was early in the morning if not for the street light we wouldn't have seen him well and we could have only heard his voice. he began working through the pathway filled with grasses and weeds and flowers dead and alive ones. He reached there successfully and he began years ago I took your life I took your wife's life I took your sister life too I also took the life of her husband and her only son I also took your daughter's life but yet I haven't gotten anything I wanted I don't need your company I don't need this house because it have been abandoned for years you know what I need. All you wanted was to enjoy it alone but I said no I wouldn't have gotten anything not just that you were so greedy to your friends and to everyone around you and that was why I took your life no matter how the detective and the police try to investigate this case they will still end up closing the case as usual and I must say Sarah is really a brave girl to actually escape all the traps I made for her she killed her best friend because if only she surrendered that time I am sure her best friend wouldn't have been killed rather she went to her for home shelter and safety and she caused her death.

But I believe that one day Sarah will be found by the police and I will collect that which I want and when I finally collect it I will find only have all the power and wealth I need I will find only be a happy man. after all before your death you were one of the richest in the country and you had enjoyed all the good things on Earth I am sorry that I had to do all those things to you and your sister's family but unfortunately sorry cannot give you Justice I'm sorry cannot bring you back from the land of the dead I am also sorry because if I find Sarah I will kill Sarah and if I find her I'll call that which I want, kill her and she will be buried beside your grave to and finally your lineage will be wiped out. no one will be there or will be alive to drag anything with me and everything I am gathering is for myself and for my kids when I have one you hated me you treated me with disdain and you called it love but unfortunately I had to take the bull by the horn to terminate you and make you pay forever and let me tell you Justice can never prevail because the detective can never find me no matter how hard she search and investigate no matter how hard she questions me she would never know and she would never find out the truth it is a promise and before I go I want to tell you one last thing if you are able to talk to those alive please help me talk to Sarah and tell her that she really need to stop hiding and face reality she need to come out and hand over those things she's holding to my hands and I'm sorry once again all I have to say now is rest in peace.

I was so devastated I didn't know whether I should cry and I didn't know whether I should smile I didn't know what to do I mean how could I even be smiling in such a case that involved my parents and that involved me I didn't want to overreact by shedding tears like a girl after all I stopped being a girl so many years ago so what was the need of revealing my identity and getting killed and after that justice will not prevail like he had said. It dawned on me that the killer was Mr Collins and he had gone to visit the grave of my parents and sister. he said it there that my father treated them with disdain and call it love he also said it that my father treated his friend so badly and if we should be talking about friends here that my father treated badly it is no other person than Mr Collins no one that he tried to eliminate my dad. all these ran and went through my mind and all I could think of was arresting Mr Collins immediately before another murder is committed.

While I thought for a while I forgot that beauty had been there watching me and trying to figure out what was wrong with me she then asked and brought me back to the present day sir what is wrong with you you look like you are disturbed by what you have watched sir I believe that this is the first step to finding out who the serial killer is. and I really think that you should take it easy I whatever decision you want to take,I think it is best for you to consult Mr Benson and try to calm down before taking any decision of yours and if you have any problem I will always be here to help you solve them sir your works inspire me and I would love to work with you sir. I looked at her and said nothing I just left the room and I went to my office I bent my head and began to rest for some while.
