Chapter 3- You Are Mine

"Hey, beautiful".

I turned to see a cocky-looking guy with dark brown hair, green eyes, and a dangerous grin. On instinct, I pointed my gun at him but the grin on his face only grew wider. In one swift move, my gun was on the ground and in another, it was a pile of worthless metal.

He easily broke my gun with a small step, it seemed like he barely made any effort... this is when I ran.

I took off but barely took up to two steps before he was standing in front of me with the grin still plastered on his face. He seemed to really be enjoying this, but unfortunately, I wasn't.

Before I could think my hands were pinned to the tree behind me and my body immediately kicked into fight or flight mode. I struggled with all the strength I had in me but he just held me still with one hand. Just one hand! and I was exhausting the little strength I had left kicking like a maniac.

"Let me go!" I screamed and struggled but my attempts proved futile.

He leaned in closer to my neck and my struggle increased but his grip didn't loosen. I felt his breath on my neck before I felt something insert into it, the sharp pain traveled from my neck across my whole body. The pain seemed to take over my entire body and it froze on instinct, as a shrill cry escaped my lips.

Black dots began to dance around my vision as I struggled to keep consciousness. It felt like life was being sucked right out of me. I could feel myself spiraling into darkness.

I tried to stop myself from passing out, cautious of fainting in the presence of a stranger. Though I tried, I slowly felt my body embrace the darkness.

"You are mine".

That was the last thing I heard before all went black.

I woke up in a very unfamiliar environment. It was a huge room and I laid in a king-sized bed that was so comfortable. Sunlight seeped through the windows signifying a new day. I turned my neck, noticing the soreness I winced a little from the pain.

Where am I?

I felt so different like I was more energized? But my head was spinning. Is that normal?

I heard footsteps from the other side of the door which was then opened. The same guy I met in the forest walked in and he smirked when he saw me.

"You're awake", he said as he walked towards the bed. I immediately got off the bed and took a stance that I hoped was considered threatening. But that was just a way of hiding the fear I now had for this guy.

The guy on the other hand didn't seem worried or frightened in the slightest. He chuckled as his eyes began to take me in.

"Who are you? Why am I here? What did you do to me?" I fired question after question.

"Well, I bit you" he answered with a shrug like it was a totally normal thing to say.

"W-what? W-why would you bite me", I asked as I rubbed the sore spot on my neck. Did he bite me on my neck?

The guy just walked past me towards the door and then turned back into the room. "You hungry?", he asked. Like hell, I was going to eat anything he gave me.

"I'm not hungry", I replied but then my stomach betrayed me by growling at that exact moment and pretty loudly too. Why does the universe have the worst timing?

"It doesn't seem to agree with you" he chuckled as he pointed at my stomach. This guy is so annoying.

"Shut up", I mumbled as I took off my bloody jacket, tossed it on the floor; because it was his problem now, and made my way out of the room. This wasn't what I needed to deal with. My brothers are out there somewhere and I need to find them. Maybe they escaped...

It was the last bit of hope I had in me. I put my hands in my pocket trying to get out my phone. Maybe my brothers are safe and can save from this hell hole or maybe I can call 911...

I immediately dismissed the idea thinking about how bizarre it would be for one of the most wanted criminals in the city to call the police.

I dug my hand in my pocket but didn't feel anything. I began to frantically feel my pockets looking for the phone but no such luck.

"Looking for this?" I turned to see my kidnapper waving my phone in his hand.

"Give that back!" I screamed.

"Hmm" he hummed as he began to think while tossing the phone and catching it "No", he tightened his grip and my phone turned into a pile of worthless junk.

"W-why?" I asked as a single tear drop ran down my cheek. He just destroyed the only means of getting in contact with my brothers and escaping from this place.

Normally, I would have attacked him by now but it didn't seem like I had a high chance of winning. I would probably end up being worthless junk like my gun and phone.

"I can't have my prisoner escaping. Can I?" He said in a cocky tone and I had the urge to shove the scraps of my phone down his throat.

"Follow me. You've been going the wrong way this whole time", he said as he started to lead me towards the kitchen and I followed while glaring holes in his back.

***

We arrived at the very luxurious dining area as some people brought in our food from the kitchen, I assumed they were servants. From what I've seen of this place so far, it seems to be pretty posh. It was expensively decorated with expensive carpets, paintings, and trinkets.

I had a plate of pancakes and cranberry juice because I didn't really want to eat much and the other guy had a glass of cranberry juice.

I ate a bite of the pancakes and took a sip of the juice and it was heavenly. "Hmm, this juice tastes amazing", I commented and completely forgot about my previous anger due to its angelic taste.

"It's blood", he replied like he was talking about the weather or something.

I laughed casually at his joke as I took another sip. It was at that moment I realized that it tasted nothing like cranberry juice. I paused for a moment and side-glanced at the guy with wide eyes, begging him to tell me that his earlier comment was a joke. He simply twirled the liquid in his glass before casually taking a sip of it. "Like I said, it's blood".

I immediately spat it out onto the floor making it look like a murder scene, it's not like I believed him but I wanted to take precautions.

"Why would you give me blood?!" I asked the psychopath.

"I would answer that once you tell me why you were covered in blood at midnight and why you were in a forest... with a gun", he deadpanned. He almost made me sound like I was a serial killer who just recently obtained a few new victims. The thought made a shiver run down my spine.

"Just answer the question", I deadpanned through clenched teeth. I was in no mood whatsoever to talk about last night.

"Because you can now drink blood", he replied like it was the most obvious thing in the world as he took a sip of his juice... er... I mean blood.

"W-what?" I asked baffled.

"I'm a vampire, do you believe that?" he asked.

Nah bro, not really.

"Absolutely not", I replied with crossed arms.

"Really..." His lips spread into a grin revealing really sharp-looking fangs.

Those are fake, right?

Being the idiot I am, I used my fingers to pull on the fangs to see if they would come off, but they didn't...

I jumped back in fright at the realization that he wasn't lying. This can't be good...

"Do you believe now?" He asked in a cocky tone.

I didn't reply still trying to process this information in my small brain. I'm dreaming, that's the only reasonable explanation. Vampires don't exist.

Right?!

"So you brought me here so that you can feed me and make me fat then have a feast with your vampire friends", I accused as I folded my arms across my chest. However, my demeanor faltered when I realized what I had said.

Oh my god, Cassandra please think before speaking.

The psychopath vampire exploded in laughter as if finding what I said funny. I was being completely serious. This is my life, my blood, and my size we are talking about here. Sorry, but I like my current body type.

"I'm not a psychopath, Cassandra. Pretty name by the way", he said and took another sip of his 'drink' with a wink.

"W-wha- H-how?" I stuttered in confusion.

"Vampires can read minds", he answered.

"So cool!" Yep, here I am fan-girling over my kidnapper, what has my life come to? "Do witches exist too?" I asked getting curious about other supernaturals.

"Yes", he nodded.

"Elves?"

"No", he replied.

"What about werewolves?" I asked.

He let out a fierce hiss, "Unfortunately", he bit out.

"Do vampires and werewolves actually hate each other?" I asked, curious to know if the movies had a point. They are basically nemesis in all the movies I've seen.

"You could say that", he replied in a low voice. "What's your favorite supernatural?" he asked changing the topic.

"Werewolves", I stated with a shrug. I was telling the truth. Sue me.

He sent me a hard glare that made me awkwardly shift in my position.

"You can't like werewolves", he snarled as his eyes turned to slits. I almost pissed my pants there and then, luckily I can control my fear.

"Why? I'm not you", I spat.

"No, but you're pretty close", his signature grin appeared again.

"I'm lost", I gave him a baffled expression wondering what he was talking about. Last I checked, I don't kidnap girls from forests at midnight.

"I turned you", I could hear the pride in his tone.

"Turned me? To what?"

"A vampire".

At first, I looked at him with nothing but shock and then I started to laugh like a maniac. "Yeah right", I rolled my eyes once I sobered up.

"I bit you", he deadpanned.

Well, he ain't lying. He did bite me... and on my neck at that.

"Oh my god!" I shrieked. "You turned me into a bloodsucker without my permission".

"You say that like it's a bad thing", he said with a blank expression.

At times like this, I wish I had a gun.

"Relax, you're not a full vampire", he stated calmly. "You are something else".

"Cute human girl, duh!" I replied sassily with a hair flip for extra flare.

"If you were a human you would have been completely turned. Humans are the only beings who can be completely altered and since you're still part of another being that proves that you are not human. At least not completely".

I just stared at him having no idea how to answer that. My head was spinning and trying so hard to process my current situation.

I'm a vampire.
