S1 E18: Courtroom Debate Pt. 3

Silver Heart (Present Day)

I bolted straight up, from a resting position on a soft pink silk-adorned bed. My body was shaking, sweating, lightly staining the silk, and my heart pounded, begging to escape its cage made of bone. My eyes were burning badly, casting a soft red glow on my clenched hands that were resting--twitching-- in my lap. I tried to breathe out slowly and calm myself down. I didn't need my red eyes to cause a scene.

Breathe. It was just a bad dream. Nothing more than that. It happened because of the beating I got. Your head got a little bagged up and messed with your dreams. It wasn't even as bad as those nightmares when you had too much to drink. Just breathe.

As the burning in my eyes faded away with its unsettling glow, I noticed the pale pink silk sheet under my hands.

A soft silky sheet? I was in a jail cell bleeding out, and I don't recall a hospital ever having silk sheets. Where the hell am I?
