Silver Heart (Present Day)
Watching the bracelet fall to the ground, I waited anxiously… I stared at it resting on the ground for a few moments before laughing at my stupidity.
“God, I can’t believe I fell for that–”
My heart clenched, strangling a croaking sound from my mouth. Every beat shot pain through my system and pushed me to breath erratically, practically hyperventilating. Falling on all fours, I clutched my chest.
Am I having a heart attack?!
“What did you do to me?” I questioned Banusi, as he walked closer to me, away from the fire.
“I did nothing. You know what’s happening.”
The change… No, it can’t be real… I’m... I’m human... Right?
“It can’t be real though…” I whispered between the painful pulses of my heart.
“It is and you need to accept that. Only then can I help you.”
“It hurts,” I pleaded. All the faces in the room shared a flicker of pain, recognizing my agony as a distant memory of their own.
