Marcus La Voit (Present Day)
Waiting in the designated alleyway nervously, I cleaned the gunk out from under my nails. The men that were coming were not folks you could disappoint, and I didn’t have the best news, but if I could spin it right, I wouldn’t lose my life; I might even walk away with a better deal negotiated—
I mean, sure, the money was nice, but I would be forced to split it with my men. If I could get something more valuable, like a hotel stay, I could use that for myself and reward one person on the network that gives me the most valuable information. If I can get the idiots under me to compete, I can become the undisputed godfather of information and eventually have everyone, even gangs and police officers, at my disposal.
