Silver Heart (Present Day)
I watched the forest outside my car window as we drove through the winding roads somewhere beyond New York State, based on the time frame alone, but I could be wrong we did seem to double back at one point due to construction.
After driving for a few hours, Dawn fell asleep. I debated about doing the same, but I didn’t feel comfortable doing that in a car going who knows where. Instead, I tried to keep myself occupied by looking over the school's pamphlet, but after reading the surprisingly generic information that sounded like any other rich private school for the fiftieth time, I resigned myself to watching the trees go by outside.
I thought that learning the passing topography would help if I was going to a brainwashing camp and needed to escape, but after who knows how many miles of the same fucking trees, I was done trying to do the impossible and just stared blankly in boredom.
