Silver Heart (Present Day, The Door)
I yelled in pain as I was ripped from my trance and my body. The air pressure from the biting wind forced my eyes to stay shut and threatened to rip away my breath if I kept screaming, but I was too terrified to care.
Soon the sound of rushing air subsided, and my screams began to echo. I grew quiet, cracking one eye open as my pain disappeared. I found myself on all fours in a vast expanse of white nothingness, save for a large, floor-length mirror.
When did I get on all fours? I was rocketing into the sky…
“Where am I?” I muttered aloud, as I scrambled to my feet. The mirror cracked in half down the middle ominously. Cracks spiderwebbed and twisted into makeshift lips, forming a sideways mouth. It smiled at me with hundreds of rows of teeth. I swallowed nervously, feeling I was prey caught by a predator. Taking a deep breath, I tried to rationalize my situation and calm my nerves.
