Charlotte walked over to Jacob, who stood frozen, his eyes fixed on her, mesmerized by her beauty. When she reached him, she gently adjusted his tie and said with a teasing smile:
— You’re as elegant as always, but please stop staring at me like that. Don’t forget you’ll be by my side all night, and with that look, you might seem a little odd to the other guests.
Jacob, as if snapping out of a trance, smiled back and replied:
— They’ll just understand that I’m in the company of a goddess among mortals.
Charlotte burst out laughing, her crystal-clear laugh echoing in the room:
— Okay, stop, you’re going to make me blush. Let’s go now.
— "Alright," Jacob agreed, leading the way out, while Charlotte turned to exchange a few words with her sister before joining him.
