The phone made a clicking sound and landed on its back but at a 45-degree angle. He tapped on the screen, and the red blink on the end of the phone turned into a message. “New Notification.” The letters were all in red.

The cat twisted its whiskers, thinking what to do next. Just then the lock on the door moved. Dee raised his head alert on the incoming personnel. The room was dark after all, and his owner was out. The door opened to a gloved hand first.

“It is good to see you awake, Dee.” A black-coated woman entered the room.

“It was foolish of you to keep your phone in the room before leaving. Anyone would have entered.” Dee replied.

“That is alright; I kept it under lock, and besides, I just went downstairs to get some food.” She reached over and pushed with the help of the cardboard bags in her hand.

Dee frowned at her. “You could have put those bags on the dining table; why bring them here?”
