------------------------------

I took a deep breath when I saw that all my stats were at rock bottom, except for my mental strength, which was relatively high. The power ranking system in this world was complex, starting from the Awakened rank and progressing upwards. It was ranked as follows:

[Awakened - G], [Beginner - E], [Apprentice - D], [Skilled - C], [Expert - B], [Master - A], [Grandmaster - S], [Domain Lord - SS], [Overlord - SSS].

There were even higher ranks above Overlord, but none had been recorded in nearly a thousand years.

However, based on my memories of the novel, the main character and his allies had the potential to surpass the Overlord rank.

"It seems my body still needs some time to fully recover."

I didn't even know how someone could get injured during the Awakening process.

Everyone knew that by age twelve, the body could handle the burden of mana. No one had ever heard of anyone getting injured during the Awakening at age fourteen when the body was stronger and more receptive to mana.

But Valerian had broken the rules twice: first by refusing the Awakening at fourteen, and second by miraculously succeeding at sixteen—only to fall into a three-month coma before I took over his body.

I glanced at the Elements section and felt a thrill when I saw that I had four elements, three of which were rare and one evolved.

Elements were also classified into three groups:

1. Basic Elements: Earth, Wind, Water, Fire.

2. Evolved Elements: Ice, Lightning, Plants, Magma, Mist.

3. Rare/Unique Elements: Void, Chaos, Darkness, Light, Time, Sound, Blood, Crystal.

There were also other evolved elements not mentioned.

Each mastery level in an element is divided into: Beginner, Intermediate, Advanced, Perfect.

But my excitement quickly faded. While rare elements could be powerful and useful, they also required a lot of hard work to balance.

"System, why do my Darkness, Chaos, and Void elements have an Intermediate level? And why do I have these dark elements?"

I immediately asked the system about my element progression.

[ Answering Host's first question: The reason for the advancement of your elements is due to ].

"What? I couldn't hear what you said."

[The failure to hear may be due to the host lacking sufficient authority].

"What do you mean I don't have enough authority!? Didn't you say that answering and providing responses is your job?"

[Yes, Host, while answering is also my responsibility, I cannot provide answers to things that you do not have the strength to understand or deal with. If you want to know more, you need to improve your strength first.]

The system responded again, its voice colder than usual, clearly irritated.

"Fine, forget it."

[Answering Host's second question: These elements reflect your personality. That's why you have many dark elements.]

"How can these elements reflect my personality? Do I really seem dark and evil to you?"

I asked the system, a bit angered by the indirect suggestion that I was dark and evil.

[Have you forgotten what you did in your past life on Earth just because you crossed over to here and got a new body? Don't forget, you were the cause of suffering for many on Earth. Even now, the bloodlust still lingers.]

I froze. The system was right. I had caused chaos and misery to many, innocent or not, in my past life.

"Wait, wait... How do you know all this? Did you read my memories?"

[Of course. Once I linked with you, I became an inseparable part of your mind. This means that every time you want to contact me, you only need to think about it. There's no need to speak out loud like you're doing now, so you don't seem insane.]

I could hear the hint of sarcasm in the system's voice when it mentioned the last part, but I also sighed in relief when I heard this.

At least I wouldn't be talking out loud and making people think I had lost my mind during the Awakening process.

I looked at my condition again, focusing on the Innate Ability.

An Innate Ability is an ability that a person is born with, and it's a part of their nature, though they need to train to master it and use it to its full potential.

The Innate Ability mentioned for Valerian was Mana Sensing, but he hadn't had the chance to use it before he was tragically killed by the protagonist.

[Mana Sensing: Allows the user to feel the mana within living beings and determine how much mana they have. This ability can evolve in the future into Mana Manipulation.

[Mana Manipulation: The user can create or alter mana in the surrounding environment according to their will, whether for defense or attack. This ability, at some point, allows the user to control mana within living beings.**]

"What the hell?!"

My mouth hung open after reading the description of the Innate Ability; this ability was extremely powerful, even by the standards of this world.

The ability to sense mana in living beings makes it almost impossible to fall into an ambush. And being able to determine how much mana someone has left in their body allows you to know when they are at their weakest.

As for evolving it into manipulating mana in living beings... that was unfathomable, and I didn't dare to think about it right now.

Moreover, the Ravensberg family was famous for using Darkness and having a deep connection to mana sensitivity, rivaling even the elves.

"What exactly do you mean by your analysis ability, System?"

I focused my attention on the System Abilities section and asked.

[This ability allows the user to analyze real-time combat data, which helps predict the enemy's moves. The accuracy depends on the host's available intel, and there is a margin of error.]

I nodded in agreement as I listened to the description of the ability. Although there was a chance of errors, it could be useful at times.

I looked at the Mana Absorption Technique section. The Forgotten Shadow technique was a two-star rated technique that the family provided during the Awakening process.

All Mana Absorption Techniques, combat techniques, and others were rated with stars, from one to five stars.

The five-star techniques were rare and mostly controlled by powerful noble families like the Ravensbergs.

"Crack."

My thoughts were interrupted by a light sound as the door opened.

'Who is it... damn... Should I pretend to still be unconscious?'

"Daf-Crack."

'Damn, I can't pretend now. They've definitely seen me already.'

When I heard the sound of glass shattering on the floor, all my thoughts vanished. I turned to see who had entered the room.

A maid with long brown hair, wearing a black-and-white uniform, stood frozen in the doorway, shock and disbelief in her eyes. She was on the floor next to a shattered vial that contained a light green liquid. I recognized the liquid immediately; it was a low-level healing potion.

"Y-Young Master... How long have you been awake?"

The girl asked, her surprise clearly evident on her face.

"I—I must inform Lady Selene immediately!"

She said, quickly running out of the room.

I stared helplessly at the door she left open.

"Shit... What if they find out I'm not Valerian?"

'They'll definitely kill me... No, they'll definitely torture me.'

My body trembled at the thought of being tortured again.

"Calm down... I need to stay calm... I was going to have to deal with this situation sooner or later."

I continued thinking of how to handle the situation when a bold idea struck my mind.

'Although it could cause me a lot of trouble, it would allow me to deal with this situation quickly.'

I reviewed the plan in my head, then smiled grimly and said:

"This will also help me change their perception of me..."
