Yato spent another day planning, fine-tuning the details of his next move. But he knew he couldn't wait forever.
That night, he finally took action.
Before leaving, he casually asked Makino
"What's the way to the capital of the Goa Kingdom?"
She hesitated for a second but then explained the route without questioning too much. Yato listened carefully, memorizing every detail.
And then, he left.
---
The journey took three hours.
But he didn't go on foot. Using his shadow bear, he rode the massive beast through the mountains, cutting down travel time and avoiding unwanted encounters.
When he reached the outskirts of the city, he stopped to observe.
The capital of the Goa Kingdom was surrounded by enormous walls, guarded by armed soldiers. But that wasn't a problem for him.
He didn't need to enter.
His shadows would do everything.
---
Yato activated his shared vision and sent his shadow falcon to spy on the royal palace, gliding through the night shadows.
The mission was simple: find the king's vault.
The falcon flew over the corridors, peeking through windows and gaps in the ceiling until it finally located the treasure room.
The vault was near the throne room, protected by reinforced doors and patrolling guards.
But none of that mattered.
Because shadows… could slip through any crack.
---
Yato patiently waited until nightfall.
Under the cover of darkness, he sent his shadows sliding through the castle's shadows, infiltrating unseen.
When they reached the vault door, it was easy. They simply squeezed through the faint shadow leaking underneath it.
Inside, what they saw was… an absurd fortune.
Gold coins, jewels, diamonds, treasure chests overflowing with riches.
But Yato wasn't there for gold.
He wanted something else.
And so, he ordered his shadows to search.
After ten minutes of intense searching, digging through mountains of gold, finally…
There it was.
A separate section, marked by a small sign:
"Seastone Objects"
Inside, Yato found exactly what he was looking for:
Seastone handcuffs
A seastone baton
Seastone gun bullets
He didn't need anything else.
With this, his plan was almost complete.
After securing the most valuable items, Yato gave another order.
His shadows filled entire sacks with gold and jewels, tying them to the backs of shadow animals for transport.
And then, as silently as they had arrived…
They vanished into the night shadows.
Back to the Hideout
By the time Yato finally returned, it was almost morning.
He didn't go back to Makino's house. Not with all that wealth in his possession.
Instead, he returned to his old dwelling:
The cave where he used to sleep before moving to the village.
Now, he had money, weapons against Devil Fruit users, and… much bigger plans for the future.
